To answer your question, this camcorder USB Streaming feature is not possible with Windows 8 operating system. If you try to connect the camcorder to your computer Windows 8 using a USB cable, the camera will not be recognized by the computer.

To transfer the videos from the camcorder to your computer with Windows 8 operating systems, use an i.LINK (a.k.a firewire or IEEE1394 cable) cable or Audio/video provided (A / V) cable and software compatible video capture as Windows MovieMaker software.

According to the availability of the iLINK decision-making or A / V jack on the computer, follow the instructions provided in the links to transfer the videos below.

i.LINK cable:

https://us.en.KB.Sony.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/37892/p/36919, 37620,37639/c/65,66/kw/transfer%20vi...

Audio/video (A / V) cable:

http://eSupport.Sony.com/Tutorial/389/us/en/

Once you have transferred the videos on your computer, you can use the software PlayMemories home (WPH) to organize the video files.

The sceren LCD on my Handycam DCR-HC26 model no longer meets a touch even after trying many times to recalibrate.  I also reset the camera with no result.  This problem makes the camera useless for me, because even if she recorded again, I can't view the video.

    Hi, hbrunk

Try resetting the camcorder by removing battery power. You can try factory reset by pressing the RESET button on the camcorder. If the problem persists always service is required. You can start the service request using the link below.

  • Camera Sony HandyCam DCR-TRV280 is not recognized by Windows 7

I have a Sony HandyCam DCR-TRV280, a Toshiba L505D-S5963 running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - bit.  My PC does not recognize the camera.  I loaded all drivers and updates to date mentioned above, but when you say to "go into the Device Manager and find the entry for the firewire (IEEE1394) change the driver for the IEEE1394 driver LEGACY and now your camcorder will be able to speak correctly on your PC.", my device driver does not list an IEEE 1394 device.   However, I tried to load the copy and save the 1394bus.sys to C:\Windows\system32\drivers file, but it will not accept a .inf, .sys not file.  I really appreciate all the information below, but would appreciate a little more help.   Thank you

    Hello Softail1015,

In addition to the response of Amrita M, please relay exact model number and type of the Sony camcorder.  You can also view the link below, provided by the manufacturer of the device that contains compatibility information and pilot for the Handycam from Sony DCR-TRV280 Digital8 camcorder:

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/us/Perl/SWU-list.pl?MDL=DCRTRV280&SelectOS=46#div_pos_124

In addition, it seems that the Sony DCR-TRV280 may require an IEEE 1394 connection to transfer the video from the camcorder to the computer. You can also check with the manufacturer of the device to check if the Sony DCR-TRV280 supports the transfer of DV via USB or USB streaming.

You can also view the link below, provided by the manufacturer of the device that describes the steps to know how to transfer video to a computer using an i.LINK (IEEE 1394) connection using the digital camcorder:

    http://www.KB.Sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C111893

I hope this information is useful.

  • Sony Handycam DCR-30 does not work on my computer

I tried my video camera to work on my computer, but he doesn't find anything that allows her to work.

Hi James, thanks for helping me. I ended up going to Best Buy, because I was a complete jerk and using the wrong cord to connect to my computer. I ended up using one of the cords of my digital camera that is also connected to my video camera to try to connect to my computer. That was the problem at the moment. The main problem is that after I found the right cord I ended up discovering that I don't have a connection to the firewall on my laptop and so I need to get a special socket to get my cord to connect because you can't connect with a USB cable (that sucks). in any case, that the special connector would end by cost me more than 55 dollars and so I just used my mac laptop has she not a connection to the firewall on the side there.

  • Unable to capture video from digital camera Sony DCR-HC26

I replaced a PC under Windows XP with a new PC running Windows 7 Home Premium and I was not able to connect my Sony Handycam DCR-HC26 digital tape camera to the new PC.  I use an I-link (firewire) cable.  The camera seems to be recognized by the PC as a Sony DCR-HC26E, but trying to capture the video, the following message appears: "failed to find the camcorder (band). Check the i.LINK to the Handycam. "I suspect a problem driver type is the cause but I'm running out of ideas on how to solve this problem.  Any ideas?

    Curry,

    I don't understand your suggestion.

    1. When you say "entry for firewire (IEEE1394)", do you mean "entry for controllers Host Bus IEEE 1394"?
    2. When you say "pilot LEGACY", what is it and where can I get a "LEGACY driver"?  (I clicked on properties for the Texas Instrument 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller and did not find anything on "LEGACY").

    Bruce

Hey, maybe I can answer this question.
1 double-click on controllers Host Bus IEEE 1394 you will find the appeal of device 'compatible OHCI 1394 host controller ".
    2. highlight the 'compatible OHCI 1394 host controller' right click on "update driver software".
    3. Select 'Browse my computer for driver software ".
    4. at the bottom of the window, select "Let Me pick from a list of device driver on my computer.
    5. you can select "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (legacy)" as the driver and then click "Next".

  • Driver for HP6988 does not work in Windows 7

I have windows 7 on my laptop and I try to install my Deskjet 6988 printer.  Plug in the USB and it says it downloads the driver successfully, but when I try to add the printer it says that the driver is missing something.  I uninstalled and reinstalled several times and nothing seems to help.  I'm having the same problem with HP Photosmart C5580 all in one.  The same problem.  I am really frustrated.  I also tried to connect to a Deskjet 3050 a J11 since this is a new printer and it wouldn't work with either.  Can you help me?

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do, but since I think I've tried just about everything else, I might have to.  I hope that the scannow will work.  Thanks for your help.
