  I guess that a 100 GB HARD drive will not be recognized by the BIOS.

  I need some advice here. I have a Toshiba Satellite a colleague here, type L40 - 14N. She wanted to run the Toshiba Recovery CD procedure to get back original configuration... system was going way too slow and all that, no other problems. Anyway, she's not very experienced and one way or another the recovery failed.

I also tried a Vista installer retail and loaded drivers SATA raid as mentioned on this forum. Without success, no HARD drive detected.

  I use a 80 GB hard drive in my SA30 and I suspect it would probably work with a 100 GB drive. However, as portable hard drives tend to suffer ruptures busiest I think their close office 80 GB is perfectly o.k. for me. I tend to have 25-30 GB used with the rest of the temporary files during editing of the videos etc. The hard drive in the A30 is usually under the optical drive to remove all first in order to access the hard drive.

  Your A30 can be upgraded to a maximum of 2 GB of RAM in two slots. Currently, you will have 2 X 128 MB or 2 X 256 MB modules of RAM installed.
