Hard drive Dell Latitude E4300

I have a question!

What is the difference between the 200 GB hard disk (7200 RPM) free fall sensor and the fall sensor free 250 GB hard drive (7200 RPM), because the 200 GB version is 70 Euro more expensive than the 250 GB version.

Are there differences in quality?

Thanks for responding!

Kind regards

Jochen

  • Hard drive Dell Inspiron 1426

My hard drive died and I bought one on ebay. I have insalled it and inserted the disc of exploitation for windows vista. The error message that came was, "this disk is not bootable" or something like that...

Does anyone know how to get the new hard drive to work? I am novice of the WADA. My computer is a Dell inspiron 1426.

Maybe the person that I bought to take everything on it?

    Linda :)

    Hello

To install Vista on the new disk, you must set the CD/DVD to start everything first and have the Vista Installation
    media.

Parameters/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 as you start then look at the screen - CD/DVD to start everything first - don't forget
    to replace hard drive later.

Put in the DVD and boot on it and install Windows. If it boots that disc and then either the CD/DVD drive
has a problem or the disc you are using is not the good Vista installation media.

Check with Dell Support, their drivers and documentation online and ask in the Dell forums. Dell will reference
installation instructions complete on their Web site.

  • Second hard drive Dell Inspiron 3847

Can someone direct me for information on the installation of a second hard drive for Inspiron 3847 computer for the purpose of the image upwards using the Acronis True Image Home software upward? There is room for an optical drive, which is totally alien to me, but nothing is said nowhere in the hardware in the user manual on the addition of second hard drive that seems to be a pretty normal material adding. No sense in this matter. First time forum thank you poster

    toplap

Dell has not released the procedures to install an additional SATA hard drive, the Inspiron 3847 has a 3.5 Bay ", one for the second hard drive next to the main hard drive, there should be a set of rails located in the Bay, two 6-32 X 1/4, Phillips head screws are required to secure the Rails.

Procedures on pages 26 to 28 of the owners manual should give you an idea of what is required for installation.

    http://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_inspiron_desktop/Inspiron-3847-desktop_Owner%27s%20Manual_en-us.PDF

You will need a SATA data cable, there should be a spare connector to SATA power inside the housing.

After you have installed the drive, enter the system setup and make sure the hard drive is "on" [We] and recognized.

For Windows to recognize the second hard drive, it must be partitioned and formatted.

Go to control panel, administrative tools, computer management, storage, disk management, right click on the new drive, select format, then you can assign a drive letter.

  • New hard drive Dell PE 1900

Just ordered 2 new hard drives of 300 GB of Dell $ 300 each.  Have Perc 5 / i Raid 5 config.  I was told that I could get 2 hard drives from WD a lot cheaper at microcenter who would work as well?  If I want with the Dells that are in transit?  Thank you

Depends on the model of WD drive. Nevere use desktop/laptop (green, blue) readers and do not use the NAS (red) drives. Only certain versions of readers RE are provided by WD to work on Dell DCs. So, if it's not a disc RE WD States are working on PERC controllers, and then use the readers of Dell. Also, for future use, don't order disks directly from Dell. Buy the same readers certified suppliers. For example:

  • Screw hard drive Dell

I need to install my old hard drive SATA on my new Inspiron 531 s as a second hard drive. Tried and realized that the fixing screws are special. They have a big head. I have a lot of normal mounting screws, none of them are close too it. I tried to get them in stores, nobody wants. Called Dell support, parts etc. They "do not sell". It's a shame, as it should have been included in the box. I may return this computer because I can't get 4 small screws.

Dell should include with the box, certainly sell it or just give it on request. Anyone know how to get these screws 'shoulder '.

The existing permanent cd player ejects the CD when you inserted the it is a common problem for this type of player.

  • How do I "Defrag" my hard drive - Dell XPS 8900?

I heard that it is good to defragment your hard drive, especially for the ouv of flight that I use my machine for.

But my machine has a SSD for powered by a normal hard disk - caching and normal defrag utility will not let you to this "hidden" traditional disc

Is it possible to defragment my real behind the scenes hard drive safely?

    Thank you

    Steve

You specify the drive when you run defrag?

Try to run the defragmentation from a CMD window. At the prompt, type first to:

    Defrag C: - one

    Press

    This will give a report on how fragmented the drive is. If you decide that he needs to defragment, typeRegeditdans;

    Defrag C:

    Press

And you can type in defrag C: /? to see a list of all the "available switches" available for defragmentation.

  • Replacing the hard drive DELL XPS L501X

Lately, I got some error messages like "SMART has detected a hard disk failure." Back up your data immediately. »

I think there is no option available troubleshooting now and I need to replace my HARD drive with a new one. Indicate if there is. For a new HARD drive, I came across Hitachi Travelstar Z7K500 which has the best record and is available at a very good price. Some of its strengths:

    • First 7200 RPM, 500 GB in a 7mm single disc design
    • Advanced format, 512-byte emulation
    • First interface SATA 6 Gb/s on a mobile HARD drive

I'm just worried if I do I face compatibility problems as it has only 7 mm in height compared to my older HDD which was 9.5 mm in height. I'd love to learn more about this and other suggestions you might have.

All SATA drives are backward compatible - and SATA6G questions only for SSDS.  No hard drive can withstand even 150 Mbps - and yet less than 3G / 6G.  The interface may, but does not have the mechanical hard drives.
