Hard drive died & Vista disk is corrupt

My hard drive from the desktop is dead so we bought a new one and installed.  When I tried to install the original Vista, I received a message that he could not continue his run because he was absent or corrupted files.  Because this is the disc that came with the computer may not be missing files so that they must be corrupt.  Is there a way to get a copy of Vista Home Premium 32 - Bit, since I can provide the installation code?  Can I use the 64-bit installation disc supplied with my laptop and insert the code from the tag on my desk?

"Can I use the 64-bit installation disc supplied with my laptop and insert the code from the tag on my desk?

NO!

How to get Vista recovery Media.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

You are only allowed under the rules of OEM licenses to install the version of bits that the computer/laptop is preinstalled with.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Satellite Pro M40, failure of the hard drive - the new disk restore disk?

    Hello

My Satellite Pro M40 hard drive died and I want to install a new drive. Unfortunately, my old drive is 60Gig and the Web of Toshiba parts site has only 40 GB or 80 gig drives.

I have problems with the recovery disk if the hard drive is not exactly the same thing?

    Your advice would be appreciated.

    C

No, he should t be any problem with the Toshiba Recovery CD.

On the recovery CD, you'll find a Windows OS, Toshiba drivers and utilities and software further.
These entire applications are packed into image files.

You should only be sure that the HARD drive is compatible with your laptop and it will be recognized in the BIOS.
Then simply to boot from the recovery and installation CD must start.

  • I don't see the entire hard drive under Vista. When I try to shrink a volume, I seem to lose space.

Original title: I see all the hard drive under Vista

I see on the C drive properties

"494GB of free space.   But, when I try to do a third partition to install windows 7, using the disk management tool, after I click on
shrink the volume on drive c, I don't see that: ' available shrink space: 79, 917 MB ' and I also see 'total size after shrink in MB = 573891'.  I expect all the free space 494 GB available shrink.  I'm wrong.    Why all the 494GBs are not available to reduce or at least half of it, I guess that instead of only available to shrink 79Gs!
In addition, currently, I have three partitions.  For vista, office and other programs and data, C D like Factory Image of HP, a 11.3 GB and yesterday I made a partition for windows 7 with 48.83GBs and installed windows 7 Professional there.  Then I realize, I need more space to install office and other programs and data.  This is when I tried to shrink the c drive and encountered this problem.
    Can you please help me
    Thank you

    Hello

you do not shrink the C: drive and then expand the E: drive back in the space that you did

You cannot extend a drive backward

and I gave you a link to read and use on the problems of shrinkage

If as a result of the information on how vista disk management work does not fit what you want to do, you may need to buy 3rd party partition software

  • My hard drive died. A new hard drive has Windows 7 preloaded?

    Hello world

I have a laptop HP G62-225DX with Windows 7. My hard drive died. I think to buy a new one. A new hard drive for HP already installed Windows 7, or I have to buy Windows again?

    Hello

A new HARD drive will have no operating system - you'll need to use your set of recovery disks to install Windows 7 on disk.  The procedure is detailed in the document of HP here.

If not create you these discs or have lost them, you can order a replacement set using the link below - the cost varies a bit depending on where in the world you live, but they are generally inexpensive.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

How do you share a hard drive in Vista on a home network that the other network users can back up their music, photos, etc... I have 3 computers vista and and 4 Xp Pro on the network computers and all that I get a message saying "F:\ is not accessible. Access is denied. " CANY anyone help

    Hello

The hard drive is missing on the permissions that are required.

    What are the permissions?

Permissions are rules associated with objects on a computer or network, such as files and folders. Permissions determine whether you can access an object and what you can do with him. For example, you can access a document in a shared folder on a network but only be able to read the document and not to make changes. System administrators and users with accounts of administrator on computers can assign permissions to individual users or groups.

To take possession of a hard drive.

    1. make a right click the hardrive / partition you want to take control and then click Properties.

    2. click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.

    3. click on modify. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    4. click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.

    5. If you want this person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects to check.

    6. click on OK.
