HARD DRIVE FULL! .... CAN'T FIND WHY?

I got a new laptop turned off a friend for Christmas. He said that he cleaned everything, but after the transfer of some files from my old hard drive, photos and music for a total of 5 GB, I noticed the hard drive had used 81 GB. I searched all although the files looking for a reason why so much space had been used and I couldn't find anything either. not even installed programs came close to that kind of room. Is there something that I can have over looked or a way I can list each file and look at the sizes? or just something coz the thing is close to being complete and I only just got the thing.

Thank you

Original title: Lost my win7 pro distrib

    Hello!

I have a Lenovo T440s, I replace the hard drive and can't find my distro dvd disc. On the back side are those:

WINDOWS 7 PRO OA FOR LENOVO
    * key series *.
    * numbers of many * X 1881991

Where can I find the version of windows exactly for my laptop?

    Hello

The only legal Windows 7 download available is now Microsoft, as Microsoft has stopped DigitalRiver Windows 7 ISO downloads.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

But Microsoft only provides these downloads for Windows 7 keys to selling product at retail, not preinstalled OEM product keys (Dell, HP, etc.).

If you have a Windows 7 license detail and are having trouble at the above Web site, contact Microsoft using the Support option.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

If you have a preinstalled OEM license (Lenovo, Dell, HP, etc.), contact Lenovo at the order of recovery media that they need to provide for a fee.

Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

  • Computer failure, hard drive readable: can not find the 5 Lightroom Catalog.

Computer failure, hard drive readable: can not find the 5 Lightroom Catalog. Help appreciated.

I used 5.3 LR on Win7, never pay attention in the name of the catalog used. My photo files were on the same physical hard disk D: partition.

Now that I have a new computer Intel NUC, with Win7 installed on drive C: (SSD M.2), I plugged my old drive hard drive E: (old C :) and drive F (old d :))

I have re-installed LR 5.3 and also upgraded to LR 6, , but the problem is that I can't find the catalog I was using with LR 5.3

I searched for *.lrcat and see all previous catalogues lightroom starting with LR 2, 3, 4, 5, getting bigger and bigger, but not catalog 5 including the current date.

The catalog would have another name or extension?

I have the old C: drive. Is there a config file that would confirm where the catalogue is supposed to be?

    Help!

HM, it is clear that it is not found on your old C: (so E :). )

And there is no config file to tell where to find the catalog to Lightroom. It's just that the catalog is in the place you choose (most of the people chose to have the catalog to the location by default...).

  • Replace hard drive bios can't find it

I have a hp Clubhouse while a windows 64-bit 10. I ran a test that everything going except the short DST also a message says shadow copy service does not. so I try to replace the hard drive, he wants to find the new hard drive and it good because I try on another computer.

The hard disk that come with the computer is a wd 500 I am try to replace with seagate 250 GB

They have the same connection, and it connects well I don't see why it's not accept it. It also has 10 on windows

    Thanks for any help

You said "the hard drive that come with the computer is a wd 500 I am try to replace with seagate 250 GB". "  You need to replace the hard drive with the same capacity (500 GB) or more.  Be careful not to exceed 2 TB.  If you have never made your ONE TIME set of recovery DVD + R media, then do it now.

PS <>is it unwise to jump around all the different Subforums of HP seeking a response.  In addition, when asked a simple question, "what is the product number', it is a label on the back of the PRINTER, you just wander to post on another forum.  You test our determination, or you're worse?

  • I formatted my hard drive and can't find my windows vista installation disc, can I download it?

    x 32-bit

If your vista is preinstalled and you still have the PK on your COA, borrow from someone different windows vista OEM version.

If you bought separately (not OEM), then borrow another windows vista RETAIL copy.

That would be casual piracy but, there is nothing you can do.

in any case, it won't work if you don't have a genuine microsoft product key.

If you are unable to activate, call microsoft product activation.

NOTE: Make sure that you borrow the exact and the same architecture/version/edition.

for example, the name of the product that is written on your COA is vista Home premium, then borrow OEM de Microsoft windows vista Home premium.

When all else fails, buy Windows 7.

  • Satellite P100 - 10 p - what HARD drive I can use?

What larger and faster HARD drive I can replace the 12.5 mm 2, 5 inch 200 GB 4200 RPM in my Satellite P100 - 10 p with?
I can only find readers of 9.5 mm.

Toshiba is usually inaccessible and as usual hasten to refer to their "dealers" who do not know their elbow for their...
Why do we support these faceless idiots who are only willing to deal with the ministries or other bulk public-money-wasting buyers?

I discovered something this laptop runs the height of 2.5 inches x 9.5 mm HDD 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB, 100 GB and 120 GB and 160 GB (and more) internal height of 2.5 in. x 12.7 mm drives.

Looks like both hard drives 2.5 SATA (9.5 mm and 12.7 mm) can be used!

  • Satellite 2430-402: which HARD drive I can use for an upgrade

    Hello

I have a 2430-402 satellite and the hard drive is full. Can someone tell me the greatest, he will take care and what kind do I buy? (Probably not PATA or SATA but I should look into IDE)

    Thank you

    Jez

    Hello

You are right. To my knowledge, the Satellite 2430 was delivered with an improved interface to drive HARD IDE (ATA-5). Therefore, we must look for IDE hard disks.

I'm not sure about Mr. size of HARD drive max. I think that Toshiba provides official information what size HARD drive max can be used. I presume to test

Laptop has been delivered with a40GB HARD disk. Am I wrong?
Hmm in my opinion the 60GB HDD should run. You might also try a 80 GB HARD drive if it s compatible.
But I really very skeptical about larger sizes.

  • HP ENVY laptop laptop 15-as032nr: buy 512 GB SSD laptop. You want to add additional 1 to hard drive. Can it be done?

    Hello

I bought the HP ENVY 15-as032nr with only 512 GB SSD laptop. I want to add additional 1 to hard drive. Can it be done?

Yes, you have the 512 m2 NVME PCI - e (lucky) drive gig and that goes into a slot and then there is also a slot open for a standard hard disk 2.5 thumbs or SATA SSD. See pages 30-33 of the manual here:

    Repair manuals

It is likely that your laptop does not contain the HDD mounting kit and cable as shown on page 30 and 31 and this note is in the Manual:

The disk spare parts kit hard does not include the rubber hard drive support or cable hard drive. The hard disk rubber support is available using the spare part number 857797-001. The hard drive cable is available by using the spare part number 857806-001

An extra $ 66 for the housing and the cable seems a bit strong, but I couldn't find their sale anywhere other than HP Store.

This isn't a simple upgrade; If you need assistance.

  • I have 2 failure windows 7 installs with 35 GB of hard drive space, but I find no windows.old file?

I have 2 failure windows 7 installs with 35 GB of hard drive space. but I find no windows.old file?

The first installation failed because I had a copy of counterfeit Windows 7.

I bought another copy and installed. Then, I got a horrible virus/worm that disabled all .exe files and the fix was just beyond me!

I installed again but did not know that the previous facility where still there.

I tried to clean the disc, but I don't me "from previous versions of windows" to clean.

I find no windows.old file. (Enabled hidden files)

Only I have a disc ssd 60gig and want the missing 35gig kindly returned to use.

    Can someone help?

Check the system restore to see how much disk space it uses:

    Click Start

    Right click on computer

    Click on properties

    Click on advanced system settings

    Click on the System Protection

    Click on configure

Adjust the amount of disk space allocated to system restore.

In addition, the amount of RAM you have installed, it will take more disk space for paging, hibernation, and dump files.

I have a macbook pro with only 128 GB of hard drive. I installed lightroom and all my photos on an external hard drive. Can I keep my library on the external hard drive also lightroom?

Yes. Find LR catalog file in Edit/settings/general catalogue. Close LR and go to this place. The catalog file is one that ends by .lrcat - move it where you want. Beside the .lrcat file is a subfolder called Previews.lrdata. You can move, but if you don't not LR will generate new insights. Double-click the .lrcat file in her new home and LR will open with this catalogue. Set preferences in more recent catalogue.

I had to replace my hard drive and can not get my Photoshop CS2 9.0.2 to activate.  I tried the phone and the Web site and have two serial numbers.  I can't find a number that strives to speak to a live person at Adobe.  I need to reduce the size of the pixel today on some photos and need the program.  Is there another way to reduce pixel if I can't get my Photoshop runs today?

See the page linked below.  Your installation/serail number will not work.  You need to acquire a download for it with a specially assigned serial number...

AppData\Local\Apple Inc\CloudKit\iCloud Photos\MMCS folder uses more 250 GB on my hard drive, I can delete, what is this for? consultation offline? If so I don't need it

I had the same problem and it has chewed all my disk space. I have a 64-bit Windows 10 - disk 250 gig. I deleted all these files except those with current date and released the 150 gig. Much better to delete these temporary files to risking a crash operating system running out of disk space.
