    I have a P70 - A. Satellite Pro
'Primary' hard disk failed, and has been replaced by the service centre.

Now, only the main hard drive is shown and the Service Center said that I had to 'initialize' the second hard drive to make it visible. They assure me that the hard drive is there, just hidden.

    How can I make visible?
    How do I initialize it?

Usually, you can initialize the disk by DiskManagement.

In disk management, right-click the disk you want to initialize and then click on initialize disk.
In the dialog box initialize the disk, select the disk to initialize.
You can choose to use the master boot record (MBR) or the style of partition GUID partition table (GPT).

Once a disk is initialized, you can create partitions on it.
After you create a partition, you can format the partition to create a filesystem (NTFS).

  • Limit of 2 TB on 2nd HARD drive, how to change without affecting the system reserved Partition?

I have 2 drives - 240GB SSD where Windows is installed and a HD in Toshiba 3 TB of data.

After installing Windows 7 for the SSD, it creates a system reserved 100 MB Toshiba hard disk partition. I now want to create a single data (d) on the Toshiba partition but disk management only limit myself to create a partition of 2 TB and a 746 GB partition. Past posts to dig suggests it's the MBR problem - then what can I do now to break this limit, without deleting or play with the 100MB system reserved partition?

    Hi YT :)

You're right, that this problem is caused by the fact that your hard drive is cut using the style of partition table MBR, which allows only to create partitions to a maximum of 2 TB size each. In order to 'break' this limit, you must convert your hard drive in a GPT partition table, which does not have this limit (well, the limit to 128 TB then there it doesn't matter much). You can convert your hard disk from MBR to GPT without loss of data. Follow the instructions in the tutorial below:

    http://www.thewindowsclub.com/convert-MBR-to-GPT-disk

Method 2 and 3 explain how to perform the conversion without loss of data, method 3 is the easiest.

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

However, the procedure will be to click on start, all programs, Acer eRecovery management, restore, completely restore to the factory settings, click on and you then get a pop up in the middle of the screen with Windows XP X 86 and options Windows 7 x 86 which you can select one, click ok, then, machine will restart and begin to load the operating system that you selected.

  • If Adobe has disabled the ability to use Lightroom 5.7 to see the images in the external hard drive, how one judge the images in the file on the external hard drive without bringing back them to the Lightroom library?

Now Ive some factory settings if something happened, I can run my HARD drive restore. My question is how to change the Vista 64 operating system, so I can keep the recovery on my hard drive partition?  Mayby there is some kind of upgrade cd?

    Hello

32-bit to 64-bit is not an upgrade

It must be done with a clean installation using a full version ' / Ultimate 64 bit license

Contact the manufacturer of your computer for more information on getting 64-bit ultimate, which I doubt they will always

    and microsoft sells more vista

  • Replace hard drive with any of the recovery discs...

I have a Dell inspiron I5 3521 with widows 8.0. My hard drive has failed recently, and I stupidly did not have any backups previously. I tried to make one when I realized my hard drive was damaged, but I think the hard drive froze in the middle to catch her on the back. So I ordered a new hard drive online half. The original was 500GBP. New is 250. Now under the protection of Dell and restoring it freezes at 11 percent any action I take is to say system reset/factory reset to factory condition. Out of options. Out of my mind. Help, please. Friendly firs DIY attempt, geek team wanted $ 300 of ish to do this. Even with the problems I have, I still think it's a feature.

How to get a CD restore partition?

    xxxChrispyxxx

Dell does not provide a "recovery partition CD", they send only DVDs reinstallation of the operating system that was installed at the factory.

If you are a resident of the United States and are the registered owner of the computer, a disk that contains the operating system specific to your system factory installed can be requested HERE.

Note: Dell will charge for the disc, if there is no warranty

If you do not live in the United States, contact the Dell Technical Support which is in your country.

  • I can never make a lot of space in my hard drive after back to the top

I regularly save on a hard disk that is attached to Lightroom.  What I've noticed, is the amount of space that I have left is still declining.  After the backup, I used to have over 200 GB of the available MBP 768 GB retina, now, I rarely more than 100 GB.  At some point I'll have no space left at all.  I don't know that I'm doing things correctly.  I noticed that there are duplicate files when I export the. DNG my 645Z or. My A7RII ARW.  So I file raw in LR, the ARW and the .xmp that have been exported (I still name them).  My habit of the end to create more space on my hard drive is to find the .dng and .arw files in the finder, back up to an external hard drive and then remove them from my MBP.  I do not touch other files not named.  What I find good is that even with the hard drive attached, some files are displayed as missing picture.  I can remedy this with a cover of Time Machine, I did a time machine to the top until I backed up (something I always do) images in lightroom.

Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong?  What is the best way to ensure that I have a lot of space?  I can't just buy new laptops all the time when I run out of space.  I save most of my images finished PSCC at the highest quality jpg, so the finished images that are not take total amount of space, but these are not archived on LR that I prefer to use the tag system which uses Mac.

The best approach I've found is always import as of the segregation of records to your home. Make sure that these are backed up by time machine or another mechanism for backup and then if you are not actively using the images in a dated file more copy set in an external hard drive where you keep the same year and the date structure separated. Then in Lightroom, it is a simple case of right (or control), click the folder that you moved in the sidebar of library and select "update folder location" and that it points to the new location of the folder on the external drive. All your images must be accessible as long as external is attached. Now you can remove the folder from your internal hard drive and find space (don't forget to empty the trash).

My main machine is a retina with a 256 GB drive and I easily maintain a 100 of 1000 image catalog Lightroom on it in addition to Photoshop and many other CC software I use (first for most). Most of my images and video life on a large RAID array, but my most recent images months living inside. Easily, you should be able to work with a 768 GB internal. You delete old backups of catalog in Lightroom? By default, Lightroom creates backups of the catalogues that makes every week or so next to the file catalog in a folder "Backups". You don't need to keep a large number of these backups autour. I usually keep only 2 or 3.

  • How can I change lightroom 5 previews smart on the book of mac pro (mbp) when lightroom master image files 5 are on my external hard drive is disconnected from the mbp

How can I change lightroom 5 previews smart on the book of mac pro (mbp) when lightroom master image files 5 are on my external hard drive is disconnected from the mbp? So far when I try to disconnect the external hard drive the mbp, I get the pop following window: "external hard drive A" disc could not be ejected because it uses 'Lightroom '. Exit this application and try out this disc again. When I do that and restart Lightroom 5, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom - screen select catalog appears, but does not list my external hard drive A as a choice.

I've been reviewing Adobe's Lightroom Help | Smart web page Previews Lightroom 5 and still have not been able to understand what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

    HI Thomas,

Thank you very much for your suggestions! They finally gave me the direction I go solve the problems I had. Basically, the Mac Book Pro based Lightroom irdata files still had thumbnails. Once I removed the and redirected Lightroom external hard disk, smart previews of the external drive work when the player is well off the MBP. Much obliged.

I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to backup all the files content and related data of Lightroom that exists on the external hard drive to another external hard drive as a backup? Ideally, it would be great if I could be able to launch security HD since the Mac Book Pro and do the work of Lightroom with the backup image files and intelligent previews correctly. Thanks again. Your help has been invaluable.

  • How to check if the 2nd HARD drive is possible on the Satellite Pro A200 PSAE7?

    Hello

My A200/PSAE7 has a 200 GB HARD drive. For backup reasons, I would like to know - or learn to know how check - if my A200 already have the hardware support for a 2nd HARD drive, next to the slot for a 2nd HARD drive.
In the BIOS, I see 'Toshiba MKxxx - hard drive' and 'hard drive - None '. Is the last entry in the BIOS is a sign that a 2nd HARD drive is supported and has to be put in the second location of HARD drive?

Thanks in advance for any answer!

    Best regards
    Andreas

    You can do the following:

Open the cover when the 2nd drive HARD so-called must be installed and check for some SATA connectors or cables. If there is an unused SATA connection so you can upgrade, if no, then you will need to backup your data on USB - HDD or whatever.

If in the BIOS is something now, he won't say that he is physically present.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L40 - no HARD drive not detected in the BIOS

    Hello

I need some advice here. I have a Toshiba Satellite a colleague here, type L40 - 14N. She wanted to run the Toshiba Recovery CD procedure to get back original configuration... system was going way too slow and all that, no other problems. Anyway, she's not very experienced and one way or another the recovery failed.

Problem is that the system does not detect a HARD drive now more for some reason any. Not in the BIOS, not during the procedure of Toshiba Recovery CD if I start it now. I also tried a Vista installer retail and loaded drivers SATA raid as mentioned on this forum. Without success, no HARD drive detected.

It's weird, because nothing essentially. Any suggestions how I could solve this problem and get the HARD drive online?

If the HARD drive is not detected, the installation of recovery will not work and also a Microsoft installation disc.
The HARD drive should be detected in the BIOS, otherwise that an installation is not possible.

However, it seems that the HARD drive is defective because the BIOS peut t detect it.
If your laptop is in warranty got a local ASP or you change the HARD drive by yourself.
