HARD on my Tecra S2 drive is not accessible

I have a laptop Tecra S2.
Yesterday, he crashed and turned off the coast, I tried holding the button function and F3 to start in safe mode but nothing.

I inserted my Windows XP CD to try and gets repairs there, but in the end said no hard drive found system will reboot in 15 seconds.
Is this to say that my hard drive is broken and if so someone can let me know the part number to get a new hard drive, my existing in the laptop hard drive is 20 GB?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Yes, it really looks like a HARD drive failure. The HARD drive needs to be replaced.
The Tecra S2 should be able to handle 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB and 100 GB hard drives.
It is important that you buy a HARD drive that supports the enhanced IDE (ATA-6) interface.

  • MP3 player via the USB port (no matter which), it keeps coming back as the "Drive is not accessible. Access is denied. "

    Hello

So, here are the problems I encounter, and what I did to try to fix myself.
Whenever I try to connect my MP3 player via the USB port (no matter which), it keeps coming back as the "Drive is not accessible. Access is denied. "  This same thing happens everytime I try to put an SD card in the SD card slot.  However, despite this, I can plug my USB mouse and use it, as well as the keyboard and it records only.  I can also use the HDMI port to use my TV as a second monitor and, also, to record that.
What I did to solve the problem, it is to restore the system to the previous times before that happened, did not.  I also went into the Device Manager and uninstalled and re installed, USB and SD card drivers.  I also tried something in the sense of taking control of the files via a right click on a folder and go to properties and then security and to the 'advanced settings', the problem with this situation is that I can't in readers at all.
I am currently running Windows 7 (64 bit) on a laptop Lenovo, the computer itself is actually only a few months.  If someone knows something about this, please let me know.  Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Have you tried to update the CD/DVD drive?
You could go to the Device Manager and could remove the reader of CD/DVD from the list of devices.
Then, you must restart the laptop.
After restarting again the Windows operating system will recognize the new device as the CD/DVD drive and will initialize and reinstall the driver.

Then try using the new CD/DVD drive

  • CD drive is not accessible

I have recently encountered a problem with my CD ROM drive

He started do not read any DVD or CD after have been loaded (he would make a noise to suggest that he started so nothing happen) so I checked my device manager.

My Optiarc DVD RW AD - 7560A ATA device had the small yellow warning symbol saying that it is not found.

After searching the device already asked questions, I tried to update the driver, there is nothing.

I then uninstalled the driver, restarted my computer and reinstall once he turned his back, this did not help.

I then copied a script on my desk and he ran, creating another icon, which I ran too, it did not work

I have then is gone in the start search menu and deleted the upper and lower limits limited, it worked, it allowed me to launch the DVD and install the program, I need and has worked well for about 4 hours.

Then I tried to re - run the program (having not off the computer, or remove the drive) and he didn't like the original disc could not be found. Now, she suggests that he can't find the drive again (although the Device Manager indicates that the device is working properly).

I am now confused, hard to know what to do and make me very frustrated, can someone help?

    Hello

You did a great number of them the drive may be bad or have any material question type and need to
be reviewed by a real computer store (not the leeks and the glances at a BestBuy or other big box stores)
    or the system manufacturer.

Another problem, you need to check is to have too many CD/DVD programs on the computer
even if you do not use all. These will often compete for resources (even in the back
the Earth if they charge parts at startup) and which can cause strange problems.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Follow these steps to remove corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

    --------------------

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

  • Drive external drive is not accessible, access denied.

My computer (Win7 Home Prem) ran chkdsk after an update of windows, probably triggered by ccleaner or glary utilities. My external hard drive was plugged during the update, reboot and chkdsk. The chkdsk command probably checked my coz external HD, I can see folders/paths that were there. The next day I couldn't access my HD due to a mistake, saying: it was not accessible and access is denied. I searched online potential solution and tried the following without success, and they have been applied using an admin account and an admin cmd.

    * Change the permissions and ownership, but the property always says it's impossible to determine the owner.

    * Changed the share permissions.

    * Do you have 'takeown' and a 'icalcs' has changed owner but same error.

    * Check the disk management, drive seemed ok with the letter drive and all.

    * Ran chkdsk /F on both of my C: drive and external hard drive, both completed successfully without error during the analysis and not found bad sectors.

    * Program of Unlocker used to check if player was running another process, found nothing.

In my computer, it shows the letter drive and NTFS, but not bar showing free space. Properties would show 0 free space / used. Here I can go to cmd and access the content from there. I used the function of 'Explore disk' of glary Utilities and I could see the content and even run mp4/avi files in the player. So I guess the drive and its contents is ok, just that I can't access it through normal means.

    Thanks in advance!

    Rob

    Hi LeBlanc,

I apologize for the late response and can certainly understand your concern. I appreciate your efforts. As you mentioned that you are not able to access the external drive, and you receive the error of access denied when you connect to your user account, I suggest to try to create a new administrator user account and then try to access the external drive.

To create a new user account, please follow the steps mentioned in the link below:

Please let us know if the problem persists.

I can provide a possible solution that has worked for many others:

Go to Device Manager and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.
Then start the registry (regedit) and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After that, restart your machine and windows will install the drive again. Check if it worked for you.

  • CD drive is not accessible. Access denied

    Hello

The company that I started to work has created a Group Policy object that denies users from using removable devices such as cd/dvd players. They also have a group who has access to them, it worked most of the time, but I have problems with a single user. He is a member of the group that is allowed access to readers and removable storage however when he tries to open the files on a dvd, he receives an error:

    "D:\ is not accessible.

Denied access to D:\ "(I think that this is the error that he sent me)

I can remote in his work station and if I uninstall the reader of cd in Device Manager, reboot, reinstall, reboot, then it gives the same error, but if I uninstall the drive and reinstall without rebooting, the user can access the drive without errors. On the side, after a reboot it starts to make the same mistake. This seems like a problem with the users in AD account, as it is the only one that has this problem, but my manager does not re-create the user, is there another difficulty I can try?

    floppy0.filetype = 'file '.

where ordflop. IMA is a non bootable floppy drive disk image.  I got it mounted on my Ubuntu host computer so the file should be OK.

However, when I start the W95 guest (after a clean restart of the host) and try to run Explorer on the A: drive, I get the 'helpful' message

It seems that you unit doesn t support the DVD drive. As far as I know one of these devices (CD/DVD or HARD disk drive) must be set to master and the other to slave. If the DVD player has wrong setting to the BONE peut t recognize the disk device.
Unfortunately, the computer portable player hasn t had no jumpers to reset the settings.
Well, you can try to restore your system. Maybe it helps, but if the reader has of wrong settings the whole procedure useless.

  • HP 250 Portable G2: 0xc0000225 error code. Hard drive is not accessible, computer laptop HP 250 G2

I'm doing a clean Windows 8.1 64-bit as a result of a fall, but I'm getting 0xc0000225 error code, using built-in HP recovery utility. Installing Windows also says: Windows could not retrieve information about the disks on this computer. Kindly help. Thank you

If your computer is originally shipped with Windows preinstalled by HP (as it should) - it would be better to use the HP recovery media that will repair Windows, applications, and all the default partition to factory. It will use the license of your machine for Windows and should automatically active Windows after installation.

If you are using the 8.1 Windows installation media, you may need a facility to post license Win (depending on the type of used windows).

-If you want to use the original that are preinstalled windows, you can get a HP recovery media as described above

-If you are using the 8.1 Windows installation disc and install Windows from using your driver's license, follow these steps:

1 boot from the Windows DVD
    2. click on install now
    3. in the configuration screen, click Custom (Advanced)
    4. click on Drive Options
    5. Select the partitions to format
    6. click on Format - this will delete EVERYTHING on this partition - format and delete all partitions
    7. create a new partition, and then select a partition to install Windows on.
    8. continue the installation.

If the Windows installation disc does not work for the above you can do the following to reformat your hard drive:
    1. download a Gparted ISO from here:
    http://gparted.org/LiveCD.php

2 burn the ISO to a CD or DVD
    2. start from the CD/DVD of Gparted disk.
    3. use Gparted to delete all partitions on the hard disk.
    4. under 'Device' choose Create Partition Table to a new table partition.
    5. create a NTFS partition (or you can wait and create a partition during the installation of Windows).

Finally, boot from the Windows installation disc and install Windows.

Let me know if it works for you
