Hardrive replaced on my Qosimo E10

I replaced my hard drive because of disk errors, but my laptop did not come with Windows Media Center CD to reinstall the operating system. The restore disc won't work because it's a new hard drive, so what am I supposed to do?

I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work. You are able to start the recovery procedure?
You can do it on this path:
-change the boot order in the BIOS settings (CD/DVD drive must be set as first boot device)
-After switching on maintain IT pressed F12 and choose ODD of first boot device
-After the passage of keep IT portable C button for a few seconds. This will force the CD/DVD drive first start device.

    Hi @rmccon!

    I'm sorry to hear what happened with the drive, I know how unpleasant such a thing could be...

    In regards to the replacement unit, you can take a look at the product manual and the list of the compatible types of discs, you can use page 44 - basically all 9.5 mm 2.5 "should do the job. For a particular model of HARD drive, you can check WD Blue, which is intended for daily use:

    I have a laptop of HP Envy J153CL 17. What upgrade of the disk ssd should I use to replace the rather pedestrian original? 1 TB is installed. The operating system is Windows 8.1. Thanks, Harvey

    Your laptop can actually take two full-sized 2.5 inch wide hard. You can move the original spinner disc 1 to the second slot and move an SSD in the first slot. WLL you need a second drive hard caddy and cables like this:

    For an SSD, I recommend the Samsung 840 Evo:

    There are links on the page from newegg for all sizes of 128gig at 1 to. What you buy depends on your budget, but I suggest that you get at least a record of 256 gigabytes. If you need assistance with the migration/cloning software let us know.

    Hi Alan,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

    It seems that you need help with the installation of an external hard drive.

    Normally, when you connect an external hard drive, it will automatically detect and assigns a drive letter. If you have problems you can consult the following links for installation and formatting of a hard disk:

  • Garretbp questions about loading a game of low-end pc on Windows 7.

    Recently, I had to have a hardrive replaced at reputable pc store where I bought originally from my pc. Until I'm there, another store I respect

    updated my OS from XP to Windows 7. Everything worked well. When I recently had my hardrive replaced with Windows 7, I noticed one of

    My low-end pc of 1998 games will not load. It wasn't a problem with the other version of Windows 7. The pop-up window that I read, "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows your race." "Check your computer system information to see if you need a 32-bit or the 64 bit version of the program, then contact the software publisher. I know that my system is 32-bit. My question is that I have to restart my pc in the store that originally updated my OS to get this version that will play my game? I loaded Doom 3 with no problem and a game like BattleZone 2 (it's not nearly as intense) will not play now, but he did on the original version of Windows 7, I had before the upgrade of the hard drive.

    Retail price for a "Windows Anytime Upgrade" to Windows 7 Home Edition Premium to Windows 7 Professional is about $200, so unless the second shop gave you the new hard drive and 2 GB of free RAM, you must go back and get your Win 7 Pro re-installed (service pack 1 or the other is a free download from Microsoft).

    This link I gave you above suggests that the fix Battlezone 2 makes it compatible with Windows 7, but I have no personal knowledge whether it is safe or effective.

    Hello

    Unfortunately, it seems that there is no information on fan replacing on the laptop of the G10. These documentations are not for public use, but only for the Toshiba authorized service providers :(

    Apart from this fact it s not advisable to disassemble this laptop if you have no experience! During the disassembly process, you could damage the motherboard or something else

  • Vista reinstall after replacing hardrive

    2 years ago bought a Dell computer. My hardrive needs replaced according to my tech. The problem is that I have no backup discs sent with the computer. Dell wants to charge $ 80 to talk to me. Microsoft wants to pay 49.00. Are there solutions?

    Dell provides support for your computer, NOT from Microsoft.

    How to get Vista recovery Media.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://support.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/DellCare/contact_us?c=us&l=en&s=Gen&redirect=1

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • Dell Inspiron 5520 - replaced Hardrive now what?
    Hello and thank you in advance for taking the time to read and reply to this message. My hard drive recently failed on my Dell Inspiron 5520 (Windows 7), and I replaced it with the HDD of 80 GB of my old Dell Inspiron E1505 for cleaning. Question is, now what? I have a few options:
    (1) I have a laptop HP with Windows 7. I can somehow create a disk usb (or cd) to reinstall windows 7 on my Dell 5520?
    (2) if not, then download the appropriate Dell recovery media and put it on a Usb key? (or CD)
    (3) otherwise, then I should order from Dell recovery media CD? Is this my only option?
    2 No.
    3. Yes - you will need to call Dell to buy the support of recovering your system - it will cost about $25 in the United States.
  • My hard drive went out and I replaced it with a hardrive to farm xp, now it says that I have a non-genuine version of Windows
    I bought an upgrade to Windows 7, but it will not work
    If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.
    How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:
    Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
    When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
    Click on drive Options
    Select the disc/s click on Delete
    Click new
    Click on apply
    Click OK
    Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation
    Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.
    When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer
    Click on properties
    Scroll down to the Windows Activation
    Click the link x days before activation.
    Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.
    Enter the product key
    Click next
    Select the Activation of the phone
    Click Next when you enter your key page
    Select your country
    Click Next, call the number listed
    Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.
    Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent
    They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it
    Click next to complete the activation.
    However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
    15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
    So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.
  • critical issues with my qosmio E10
    Hello, I just purchased a Qosmio E10, and I must say that I am facing many questions. It is first of all, the second machine I got because the first machine, I had to bring back for the following reasons:
    InterVideo Windvd did not work properly especially in fullscreen and second and probably more important the computer crashes permanently. To bring back to life, I had to turn off and on again. Therefore, I went back to the store and they replace it with a new machine.
    However, the new machine again the same problem. Work of interVideo Windvd don t fullscreen and it freeze again.
    It's very annoying. Now the question is:
    Qosmio E10 is defective or I'm the contrary to one who knows the same problem in two different machines?
    The only thing that happens in my opinion, is that as I install Norton Systemworks 2005 computers, maybe it is in conflict with this type of laptop, that might have some meaning. However, it seems very strange that I have the same software in my other Toshiba satellite and it works properly. Now before I'm going to complain to the shop to ask my money back, can someone from this forum help me with a reasonable response that could convince me to keep this machine?
    Thank you very much and sorry for the long message.
    Hi Gerry
    I guess you're a little irritated, but I think there is no reason for this. Gerry, you bought very nice laptop and I envy you. :)
    As far as I know that all laptops are tested before they're sold. It will be very interesting to know that you have all of these problems at the beginning or after the installation of Norton Systemworks 2005. It is very possible that there are some conflicts, because there are a few options analysis of PC and PC. I installed a similar app on my Satellite P10. There is no change, but I think my phone works now more slow.
    Qosmio is portable dessu and I am sure that there is no reason for any improvement.
    Before you change your notebook to test completely free applications for the optimization of the system.
    In my opinion, you should keep this machine and enjoy all the multimedia functions that you have on it.
    Good bye
