Having trouble accessing files on a network computer

Hello

I have 3 computers running all XP SP3 on a common network with a network printer.

Generally all networks, with the exception of one recent problem computer that can print and access files on other machines, but other machines cannot access the files on the problem machine.  Also scanned documents cannot be introduced in the unit of issue but may at other machines.  This problem is my main machine.

Shared folders on the computer problem are shared and change files is checked.

So, can someone help me please?

Thanks in advance

See you soon

Thanks for that and I already stopped sharing simple and then rstarted simple sharing with no luck.  I have XP pro on all my machines.

I only use windows firewall, and of course there is one on the router.  It makes no difference whether they are or not.

I just tried to disable simple sharing and then set sharing via sharing more detailed with full control and bingo, all works now.

It is interesting that it works by using the share detailed and not sharing simple so that all my other machines work by using simple sharing.

Thanks for all your help and the case closed!

See you soon

  • Writes a text file from a network computer to another computer on the network.

It is possible to write a text file from a computer on the network to another computer on the network through labview without using FTP?

    Hi bebo_lm,

It depends on how they are connected. If you have a 'normal' access to the pc and you can write on a hard drive of the other computer, you can use the writing functions of files or the copy of the file. If they are not connected like this, then you need another service. Why you do not use FTP?

  • Having trouble accessing the wifi via the iphone, have wireless router wrt110

I'm having a problem to access internet by wifi on my iphone. I have recently upgraded to Windows 7, but were able to access the front and now all of a sudden get a "unable to join the network" error. Does anyone have an idea why, or how I can go about fixing this problem? Thanks for the time.

You can try to update the drivers for your wireless card with your computer, and then try to connect to your wireless network.

  • What is the best program to speed performance what do you advise? Having trouble doewnloading files.

    Slow download of files.

First thing is to test your speed at speedtest.net. During the loading of the page there should be a big gold star on a map indicating your location. If the gold star is not the nearest where you are, it means that your ISP may be tunneling via another service, and is probably not very fast.

Click on the gold star and let run tests to download. After the tests completed it will show you a small window on the left edge of the card with download times. If there is more time for an MP3 file of about 20 seconds, then you will need to do a few things. First, make sure that you do not use a download manager which is known to be slow. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your network hardware. Make sure you have a good connection to your wireless access point if you use one. After you change the configurations or all drivers, run speedtest.net again and see if it makes a difference.

    Other suggestions:
Test the download using different browsers and connection types. I would recommend comparing IE DOWNLOAD vs Google Chrome download. Download the same file to the location of these two browsers and see how long it takes. Test FTP vs HTTP download. Make sure you use files that take less than 20 seconds to download in order to get a good measure of the time difference.

You can also open the Task Manager and see if the downloads are stagnation of your resources. Type taskmgr in the immediate window to open it. Click the performance tab to see if your CPU or memory is used completely (100%). If either is maxed out click on the processes tab and click on the title of column for the CPU and the memory usage to top the biggest displays line number. See which applications use resources. If this isn't your browser or download manager, you might want to stop any application you have running that uses your resources.

  • Having trouble accessing the creative cloud for download it and other applications

I tried every way I can see to get the links to download creative cloud or one of the applications with it (I have the number of members all apps) and whenever I click on a download link, it transfers me to the link to download, but then it just sits there. I just visited this site on my Windows laptop and accesses all what I needed, he does everything just not on my Mac. • Having trouble accessing the bridge/minijonction of the CS6 PS

I have never much of a user of bridge or minijonction up to that I upgraded to PS CS5, I gradually became aware of the various amenities offered and were disappointed to find that, using CS6, although I can click on bridge, see its views to the normal screen and select images that are then called in CS6, I can't do the opposite , that is, I can't command bridge or minijonction of in CS6. The only way is by clicking on the bridge first (perhaps I should say I am a user of Windows PC and recently moved from 7 to 8 and, recently, 8.1). The problem has been with me since I installed CS6 running Windows 7 and has persisted through the subsequent updates. It is therefore not associated OS.

    I get the following error

    Error 2: photoshop is undefined.

    Line: 1

    -> photoshop.invokeBridge (false, false, "");

I guess I could go back to avoid the bridge, or shoot with call Photoshop via the bridge. Maybe it's the way it is supposed to work. But I would have preferred to be able to access them when and however I want. Can someone show me how?

    Roger Williams

In, click Edition/Preferences/startup scripts Bridge.  You should have check marks for bridge and photoshop as a minimium.

I'm unable to access files on one of my computers on my home network to a PC running Windows 7. The same PC can access most of the other files on the other PC. I have a mix of XP Pro and Windows 7 and they are defined as a working group not a homegroup. To complicate the isue is a laptop computer that cannot access this computer either. But the facts are that two Windows 7 PCs that appear to have identical settings cannot access both another windows 7 PC.  I guess that the unreachable PC appropriate sharing as other computers on the network can access.

How can I change the target of the PC share permissions so I can access it from any computer on the network? Or maybe the question is from the other computers that access computer is blocking access to the setting on the PC that can't?

  • Unable to access the files from Windows 7 computer to Windows 8

    Hello

I have Word 2007 on two computers, and each has Windows 7 or 8.  I'm trying to share with homegroup.  My goal is to keep my documents on Windows 7 system and access the files (read and edit) the system of Windows 8. I don't want multiple documents, I want just one version.

After you open the docx Word read-only, I did some research and discovered that if I go to the file on the computer with Win7, made a right click on the file, then select residential group read/write, I would then be able to access the computer of Win8 file and edit and save it.  I was able to do this.

    OT: Word 2007 ReadOnly

To make sure that I could continue to do so, I tried again (by selecting the docx on the Win7 system since the system of Win8).  I received one copy read the second time.  What should I do to edit and save the Win8 computer capabilities, without having to physically run to the Win7 to allow access?

    Thank you

  • How do I find my username to the home group so IO accesses files on my PC from my computer laptop win.7

How can I find my username at my home group so that I can access files on my PC from my laptop - Windows PC Windows7 10

1 2 profiles are used because you can assign two different levels of access to files, read-only and read/write.

Recommended for networks Windows is to assign rights to a group rather than an individual user. This way you can give any number of users the same rights by placing them in a particular group. Not quite relevant in a homegroup but in a domain where users come and go, change roles etc. it makes it easy to manage. So, we have two groups and two users to place in these groups. You can see the mechanism in action by looking at security settings for one of the shared folders.

In a workgroup environment basis with say 5 PCs with each having their own main user who is 5 user accounts. For all users to access files on other computers of their own this means that not only the user account must exist on their own PC, but it must be created on all other PCs. This includes management so if a user changes his password on his PC then it must go around each of the other PC and change the password on those, otherwise he will be denied access.

HomeGroup avoids this by creating an additional user that exists on all PCs and has the same password in all of the group because it is defined in the configuration of the homegroup. Although the primary user on a PC is refused by another PC, it will accept the credentials of the user to the homegroup. Which of the two is accepted depends on the required access.

Thus, although the mechanism seems a bit complicated (and there is more than that) there is a logic to it.

  • No access to a networked computer

Two computers, a Windows 7 Home Premium, a Windows 7 Pro laptop refurbished. Premium router of network standard, family comp is wired, pro is wireless. I can access the shared folder 'User' computer computing pro Home premium, but not the other way around. I have it by clicking on the network link in the sidebar file explorer, shows two computers, click on the pro and he asks user name and password, as I have, and it gives me access. I have try the reverse, to access the computer home premium from the pro computer, and it comes up with the error "\\(computer name) is not accessible." You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Hello

You disable the password protected sharing ? If this isn't the case, please try to do that for two computers:

    1. At the bottom right of the screen, please right-click the network adapter.
    2. Select open network and sharing Center.
    3. In the left pane, click on change advanced sharing settings.
    4. Please activate the following:
      -Network discovery
      -File and printer sharing
-sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in public folders
    5. Disable password protected sharing.
    6. Save the changes.

Let us know how it goes.
