Having wireless connection problems

I have a verizon dsl modem6100f connected to a linksys wrt54g router. I followed the instructions from verizon on how to connect them so that my internet is through the router. I ran the easylink software on my desktop, where the modem is connected. I configuring WPA security.

I then connected my laptop access point, but I get no internet connection.  I can connect on the router on my desktop and laptop.

Then I ran the linksysconnectpc on my laptop to accede to the wireless network. The software says that it couldn't detect an internet connection.

What should I do next? I am connected at the point of access without internet access on my laptop.

I thought about it. I have zonealarm firewall, & I had to change the security of the internet area in the middle of the top.  I don't know why I had to go down, but I now access!

    Hi dazzablack,

What operating system is installed on your laptop? You use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba or your own installation?

Maybe the problem has something to do with the WLAN energy saving settings. I check the Windows power management and set the card WLAN for maximum performance. If you can ensure that you will always have the best performance of WLAN. :)

  • HP 3054 J610 series wireless connection problem

I have a Mac OS x 10.7 Lion, a Dell inspiron 1525 laptop with Windows Vista, an iPad and a wonderful HP old pavilion PC with Windows XP. All are wireless and have all BEEN connected to my printer HP 3054 J610. Several weeks ago, that I started having trouble connecting on my computers speed and after much research decided my router to update, so I bought a new, top-of-the-line Linksys router. It was easy to install, but has not solved my problems of speed. Let me interrupt here to say that the SPEED problems were fixed by today when my provider, Time Warner, has replaced my Modem 9 years... and now I've got lightning speed again. HOWEVER, what ACTUALLY happen several days ago, when I plugged everything again Linksys, was that I LOST THE CONNECTION WIRELESS ON my HP printer. I tried everything I could understand instructions that I could find. Finally, I found some info about the fact that my Mac OSX Lion had probably been updated to version 10.7 (and yes there) and that there is a "critical update" for the hp printer - and that otherwise it will not work properly. so... I searched the update on the news of the HP site and downloaded, but I STILL cannot connect my wireless HP printer! Helllllllp! I have 3 computers and an iPad and cannot print a 'thing'. I'm techno-challenged, so you answer a 'dummy' here - please keep that in mind, lol. Thank you!

    Hello

You can reconfigure the printer to connect to your network without wire any of the computers by following the procedure below:

Since the temporary Mac plug the USB and go on Utilities Applications\Hewlett-Packard\Device and follow the HP Installation Wizard, when you are prompted to select a connection type, select configure your machine for a wireless network , click continue , and follow the instructions on the screen.

Windows, insert the software product on CD in the computer CD-ROM drive.

Follow the instructions on the screen.

When prompted, connect the product to the computer via the USB port.

Follow the prompts on the screen to enter your wireless network settings.

When the installation is complete, you will be asked to disconnect the USB cable and test the wireless network connection.

    Kind regards

Device default internal for laptop wireless

I'm seeing this many lately.  I presume that you are referring to an internal wireless installation in a laptop?

My theory is that this is because many people keep their laptops more time to keep Windows 7 and avoid the 8 and 10.

I think wireless facilities begin to fail and what you are experiencing is the first signs of this failure.

I found that the installation simple and cheap($20) of a small USB wireless installation it will replace and work better than the internal one ever done.

  • Windows 7 wireless connection problem

I just bought a brand new Alienware m17x and all drivers are up to date... .IM with broadcom wireless network adapter. The strange thing is that last night I was on the internet for several hours without any problem using the wireless, but this morning iwas unable to use my wireless internet access. This has happened several times now. Sometimes it says "not connected - no available connections" and sometimes he says "not connected connections are available" when she says, links, I try to connect to the network, but it says "unable to connect to the network. The only time wherever I was able to connect to wireless internet, was when my computer is automatically connected to my wireless network without me having to select the network and attempt to connect. I read things about windows 7, with a mode of "sleeper" for wireless connections or something, and that can be the cause of it and that it is better to turn off or downgrade to xp. I am really frustrated because I am not able to connect wirelessly and I hope you guys can help me find a solution.

Guide to correctly troubleshoot wireless M17x
    with Dell Wireless 1510/Broadcom card
    by Glzmo

Since many new Alienware M17x all powerful users, especially those who use Windows 7 as operating system there are various problems with their Wi - Fi connection and post threads asking how their difficulty over and over again, I decided to write this guide to show them how to solve these issues properly Commons. The solutions in this guide were created and designed for 64-bit Windows 7, but they may also work in Windows Vista, although these problems were experienced by users of Windows 7 mainly in the past. It could very well be that the problems start occurring in Vista as well with the new drivers and Windows updates.

    I. may not connect to the wireless network and or see the wireless adapter when the Ethernet cable is disconnected
If you sometimes or always unable to connect to the wireless network, cannot connect to the wireless network when the Ethernet cable is disconnected, unable to connect to a wireless network unless you restart once to get this work and other weird problems to be unable to connect to a wireless network continue with section II. Otherwise, continue with section II..

Sleep of a.i. Disable on disconnect device
Some new Nvidia Ethernet drivers have a function called sleep device to disconnect. This is the culprit. Normally, it should only put the card Ethernet to sleep when the cable is disconnected, but it is buggy and thus kill the wireless connection as well.
Follow these steps to disable this feature on your Ethernet Nvidia card:

    1. open the Device Manager of Windows by pressing Win + break, and then click on Device Manager on the left side.
    2 double-click network adapters.
3 double click on NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller (Yes, that's indeed wired Ethernet adapter).
4 click on the Advanced tab.
5 select sleep on disconnect device.
6 set the value to disabled.
7 click OK and wireless should work again (may require a reboot later, but probably not).

I.b. install different drivers (older) who do not have the device sleeping on disconnect feature.
The above does not work or if you are not comfortable with these drivers, follow these steps (if step A.i. was successful, you will not need to follow these steps). Take care to create a system restore point before proceeding:
    1. click the Windows Start button in the taskbar.
    2 click on Control Panel.
3 click on uninstall a program.
4 in the list, double-click Nvidia drivers.
    5. Mark Remove only the following.
6 in the box below, only check the Nvidia Network driver.
7 click Remove and follow the uninstall instructions.
8 restart the system, if you are prompted to.
9 download another (older) driver from Nvidia.
    10 install the old driver.
11 when asked what drivers you want to install, select only the network driver.
12 follow the installation instructions and restart your system if prompted.

II. Low or fluctuating wireless connection speeds
If you have problems with WiFi low connection speeds (such as rates decline over time, the speeds are much lower than they should be, network lag/stutter in online games, loss of light packets, loss of internet connection as LAN works and other weird things) or speeds of fluctuating wildly without apparent reason wireless connection install the version of the Dell Wireless 5.60.18.8 drivers instead of the standard Broadcom drivers. All older drivers will usually cause the speed of connection under normal. Note, however, that you may need to install the driver manually via Device Manager as the pilot was not released for another laptop and is not officially available to the M17x yet - that's why the installer won't work. Take care to create a system restore point before proceeding.
Here is a step by step how manually install the driver:

    1. download the drivers Dell Wireless 5.60.18.8.
2 check out the R29128.exe file using an extraction utility like WinRAR or just run it and quit the installation program.
    3. open the Device Manager of Windows by pressing Win + break, and then click on Device Manager on the left side.
    4 double-click network adapters.
5 double-click the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter entry.
6 click on the driver tab.
7 click the button Update driver .
8 click Browse my computer for driver software.
9 click on Let me take form a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
10 click the disk provided .
    11 click Browse.
    12. select the folder that you extracted the drivers you just downloaded in step 1. in.
13 select the subfolder DRIVER_US (if you are in the United States), DRIVER_JP (if you are in the Japan) or DRIVER_ROW (if you are in the rest of the world), according to the region you are in.
14 click on the Open button.
    15 click OK.
16 select the driver that says Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N WLAN Mini-Card of the list (you may have to scroll down to see - it presents itself as second to the last in the list for me).
17 click on the Next button.
18 you will get a warning that the driver that you are about to install is not compatible with your hardware. Ignore the warning and proceed with the driver installation.
19 restart your system if prompted to do so.
20 your new driver should now be properly installed and the speed of your wireless connection in the order.

III. If all else fails (or you've just had enough of boredom arising from the Dell Wireless 1510/Broadcom card)
Replace the Dell Wireless 1510 problem with a card half-mini Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 A/G/N (use the bluetooth as the third antenna antenna or buy you an additional antenna for this). It works very well with the M17x, has better connection speeds to strips of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (this last has speeds really bad on the Broadcom/1510), it has not required to jump through the hoops to make it work properly and much more, it works with standard drivers and Intel maintains their drivers up to date. It is also much more reliable and faster as well, especially on the 5 GHz band, but also on the 2.4 GHz band.

For more information on the subject of tweaking the settings of your Dell Wireless card, check out the official setting advanced properties: Dell Wireless WLAN Card User Guide.

I hope that this guide will help you solve your Wi - Fi connection and allow you to enjoy speeds of complete wireless connection on your laptop Alienware M17x.

Addendum: Quick links in this Guide

    Driver wireless Dell 5.60.18.8 version
Download the driver for the Mini PCI Dell Wireless 1510 card used in this guide.

Broadcom 943xx Wireless Driver version 5.60.18.41
Download the latest Broadcom driver as an alternative to the Dell a little older driver who may or may not solve the problems more. Some have seen more success than with the 5.60.18.8 drivers with it (you need to use the 802.11n network adapter driver rather than at the entrance to Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N WLAN Mini Card in step II.15. the guide when you use this driver).

Setting advanced properties: Dell Wireless WLAN card User Guide
Reference Dell official Manual/Guide on the various properties Advanced Dell Wireless cards.

    Card Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 A/G/N Half-Mini
Link to buy the demi-mini card Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 A/G/N of dell.com upgrade the crappy Wireless Dell 1510/Broadcom card that comes with the M17x.

  • U940 PSU6VA satellite - wireless connectivity problems

    _ * My specifications: * _
    * Model: * Toshiba Ultrabook (Satellite PSU6VA - 00S 002 U940)
    * Operating system: * Windows 8.1 x 64 (upgrade of Windows 8 x 64)
    * Wireless adapter: * Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2200
    * Wireless adapter driver version: * 15.10.0.12 (which is the last for my device)

I got this Ultrabook since February 2013, and throughout this period, I always had problems with wireless connectivity, even after a factory reset. My wireless icon varies between three States:
    * Internet access
    * Limited (in which case I can't connect to the internet or any other device on the network)
    * Not connected - connections are available (and if I try to connect to the network, it will fail)

Sometimes my computer would instantly reach the State of "Internet access" at startup and remain in this State. Other times, it would be 'limited' for several minutes after the start of my computer before it finally connected, and even in this case, the connection will drop out every now and then. In the worst case, it would indefinitely remain "Limited" or "not connected", regardless of how many times I reset my adapter wireless or rebooted my computer.

Until very recently, I always thought that these problems have occurred randomly. However, I noticed recently that I have always a connection perfect, whenever there is no other computers connected wirelessly to my router, and I always have problems more or less when there is at least another computer (or even a smart phone) connected wireless to the router. If there is another computer connected to the router via an Ethernet cable, this causes no problems. It's only wireless connections that interfere with my computer.

It is only this computer that has these problems; the other computers in my house ever experience these issues, no matter how many computers is online. In addition, my computer is not only these problems with my home router; It has the same problems on the network wireless at my University.

My question is, how do I fix? Is this a known bug or is my defective wireless adapter? I know that I can connect using an Ethernet cable if possible (I have never problems with Ethernet connections), but this is not always possible at the University.

Did you remove the old driver Win 8 Intel of the system before you upgrade to version 8.1 to win?
The old Wlan Intel driver could affect the performance of a Wi - Fi connection.

The driver update page Win 8.1 says clearly that Intel Wlan driver must be uninstalled and the
Inbox Windows 8.1 version must be used.

I just downloaded updates Microsoft last night and as soon as I restarted, my wireless connection was gone/missing/non-functional. I have read some other posts that made me think that the issue may be with the (Qualcomm Atheros AR956x) wireless network adapter driver, but the download or install the latest driver from Lenovo (wlan149w81) support site didn't do me good. I do not see again for a Wi - Fi connection in the center of network & sharing.

Someone at - he never saw something like this before / know what might be causing the problem?

Hi solid Cruver - thanks for the help. Looks like that the combo of what I did and what you recommended has done. Update the driver LAN first and second WLAN driver seems to have solved the problem. Thanks again.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to your machine before the problem?
    2. you have any device near your router that may be in conflict with the signal?

If so, make sure that devices such as radio, microwaves, mobile phones are kept at Bay.

In the meantime, I wish that you follow the steps mentioned below.

    Method 1:

Update your AX88772 6 USB2.0 to Fast Ethernet network card of manufacturer's site and see if it helps.

    Method 2:

You can also test the problem in safe mode with network.

If the methods above are little help, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider for the best help that can be also with slow Internet or abandon the connection.

  • LaserJet M277dw: M277dw wireless connection problems

I just bought this printer 2 days ago and since then have worked so that it can connect to my wireless network.  I didn't realize set up a printer would take over 12 hours and I am very frustrated.  I am a 30 years old, the networking industry veteran and tried different ways to connect this printer for WiFi and all have resulted in the same thing.  The printer connects, authenticates, and gets a DHCP address.  I am able to ping the printer on the wireless for about 2 minutes and then it stops.  The network printer report that everything is good, SSID, Auth method, etc.  The indicator on the printer wireless shows connected with intense beep.  Watch wireless access point the printer active in wireless connections until it pings stop and the device then goes to an idle state, indicating that the printer has stopped sending the Wireless 'KeepAlive '.  At this point, I would say that I have a defective printer, but I've seen several posts on this forum with the same question and no documented fix.  I find it very doubtful that HP has produced many defective printers.  Is there a solution to my problem?  Please advise...

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software.
