HDD dv6 1 305 full, safe mode works

Hi my laptop is dv6 and OS win7

Off my laptop (the little yellow icon with exclamation point was beside the close option. I thought that it meant that he would install updates, I go over it to see what he did. After I clicked on it I just leave. so I didn't know if it went through updates while closing or something else)

Now whenever I tried the commissioning, it hangs just at the start of windows logo screen.
I tried the system restore and startup repair, but they did not help.

ran a test and got these errors:
fast hard drive 1 303
complete hard drive 1 305

After googleing the mistakes I thought I need to replace the hard drive.
I wonder if it's really the hard drive not because I was able to access the mode of security very well.
Does make a difference?

Hello

The two error codes indicate that the HARD disk is a failure - the reason why it is often possible to start safe mode is due to training under less load (in terms of reads/writes) when Windows is running in mode.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, please let me know - include the full model number and your notebook dv6 series Nr - see here for an explanation.

Kind regards

  • Black screen safe mode works fine

    Hi all

I had trouble with my Toshiba Satellite L305D for a few days now.  Services began randomly closing for example, processes Search host index.  So today I had to restart from the beginning, everything closes 1 by 1.  Now, when I start in normal mode, I get the black screen.  All right is safe mode.  I did a scan of the prompt on the review from a user on another thread, but have no idea how read the results, which contained several questions that cannot be repaired.  I have included 2 article with the expressions "cannot fix.  I would appreciate help from someone who knows how to analyze this mess.  If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open.  I can't afford to service so I have to find a way to solve this problem on my own.  Thank you!!

    Hello

These are mistakes in the sidebar - settings.ini and are not the cause of the black screen problem.

As this article States the question may be totally ignored.

The SFC.exe command reports Settings.ini file errors in the CBS.log file after you add gadgets to the
Windows Vista Sidebar by using the Sysprep tool and an Autounattend.xml file.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947595

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These errors only are in the settings.ini for the sidebar and are not a serious problem by all means.

    Close the sidebar for that.

Is there the thing for the settings.ini - run AutoRuns and look at the SideBar Gadget entries - all
This point is no longer existing files such as temp or uninstalled gadgets or not running? Generally
those who have "Yellow icons" on the left side and the files/folders will not exist. If so right click on them
and delete - restart. This may correct the errors that you see.

Autoruns - free - see what programs are configured to start automatically when you start your system
and you log in. Autoruns also shows you the full list of registry and file locations where applications can
    Configure auto-start settings.
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
    -------------------------------

Another process to try is to remove everything except a gadget - everything what you think is the most simple, that you use.
Maybe the calendar. Then RESTART - use another simple gadget, and delete the first class used
-RESTART again. See if that helps.

Rarely, the error causing the problem with the sidebar and not not affect the system in general.

The SFC.exe command reports Settings.ini file errors in the CBS.log file after that you add gadgets to
the Sidebar of Windows Vista by using the Sysprep tool and an Autounattend.xml file.

    -------------------------------

Another method to try with the SideBar does not is to copy the Settings.ini to another folder, then
Delete it - and then start sidebar.

Is the black of the screen the BIOS (Setup/settings) - or if Windows loading - does show the cursor?

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
    are a few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files. You can also
Safe mode allows to save data.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a
Google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these cover a wide
    field efforts.

You have a Vista disk? You can try restoring the system to it. If you don't have the disks your
system manufacturer will sell them at low prices. Or try in safe mode if you can get there.

If necessary and you can access all ordinary Windows.

You can try an In-Place Upgrade (hopefully save programs and data) or a repair installation
(if all goes well, the data records and need to reinstall programs). Be sure to do a good backup or three.

You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
    Product key.

    On-site upgrade

If nothing works, you can make a repair facility that must save the data but you will need to
Reinstall the programs. This also requires correct Vista disks especially for OEM versions. You will be

Guys do you have an idea what could wrong? Or how world you this problem?

Any ideas would be welcome. I'm starting to get very frustrated after 3 days in the problem... Thank you very much!

    * Niter *.

    Hello

I agree with Luke. It of really impossible that this error would be caused by one of the tools updated Toshiba.

I see in your post a few notifications on DivXsm.exe which is placed in the system32 folder and Skype.exe.

In my opinion, there is a compatibility issue with 3rd party applications that are installed on your laptop.
I have no idea why this has happened after the execution of some updates, but it seems that the system has been confusing upward.

As suggested by Luke, you could start the recovery using the Toshiba HDD recovery option.

    Check it!

  • My Xp does not start, only in safe mode. Normal mode just keeps looping in the loading screen. Safe mode works fine, what to do?

As the title says. What should do?

I found out what is wrong. The hard drive could not be "read". Drive C and D was crushed. Had to change the hard drive. Changed, working (y). Thanks anyway :)

  • Inspiron 9400 laptop, Windows Vista, black screen with cursor, befor connection, safe mode works.

Good then Ive internet scowerd to subject a houre read a lot of black screen of death without success problems.  Ive come to the conclusion that it is a unique problem.

    Inspiron 9400, Windows vista

Problem: I'm catching up after startup, it does not show the vista logo but showed the loading bar, doesn't make it to the login screen. Instead shows the bright black screen with a cursor, the cursor moves freely. Ctrl-alt-del does not work, StickyKeys is sound but no visual. So we know that this abomination of windows load. We are now trying to startup repair. We know that the battery did not work because more than a year, the bios indicates there is no battery, I wonder what this block that says battery is lol.

Whatcha got for me internet doesn't let me down.

PS one of the dumbest moments of windows.

Repair window said. May take a few minutes.

Startup Repair process may take an hour to complete

This is the error after installing firefox on the pc. Safe mode works well. I also send the accident report.

Please give me a tutorial to solve this problem.

Hello, please start firefox in safe mode (by pressing the shift key, while it launches) & go firefox > options > advanced > general & disable hardware acceleration.

  • Windows XP worked when to stop, and when turned on overnight, it only shows: safe mode, safe mode with networking etc. This is the result of an update from Microsoft to restart?

The system does not start normally and brings only to the top of the screen black ad askes to start windows normally, safe mode or network, etc.  What should I do?

    Hello Larry,.

    Once selected, Safe Mode works?

If so, try boot minimum troubleshooting:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316434

If this is not the case, have we not access to a Windows XP CD?

If so, we can use it to boot into the Recovery Console and to pursue the options from there.

    Let us know.

    Best regards

  • Text of Firefox tabs, settings, firefox, menu button... does not load, if I'm not in safe mode.

Issue describes the situation well, for some reason the text beside all my buttons (including everything in the area of the firefox button) has disappeared. Web sites work well, it just seems to effect the entire text of the firefox program. I deleted all the data from my computer and reinstalled firefox program and had no success, I tried disabling all my addons & had no success. If I go into firefox safe mode works fine, it just happened today out of the blue.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • After access freezes Office safe mode after pressing on on Windows XP

I get the blue screen advising to go in safe mode to fix.  I'm in safe mode after you restart stopping computer, I press f8 alnd when I get xp a lot of filenames scroll down then the comp freezes there. I can only try to reboot by turning off my computer, again and the same thing happens again. safe mode works only for the restart.

Hi Happy New Year!   I've been away during the holidays and the day before where I left my computer just does not respond after trying to enter safe mode.  I ordered a new computer and meanwhile using my Dell laptop which is about 6 years old, but works on my wireless router.

From what I see in blue, the screen and the black screen is that it is a hardware problem, I'll have to call Dell to get it going one last time, so I can get some files.

From the dell Web site he suggested out me the hard drive, then put it again.

Is that you are not able to start in safe mode, and then try the other options such as N/W and safe mode with command in safe mode prompt.

In SafeMode with command prompt when you have the command window press Ctrl + SHIFT + ESC to open the Manager tasks, then click on file-> new task-> Type EXPLORER. EXE and press the ENTER key. Close the Task Manager and you will be able to see the desktop.

If you are still not able to start then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier date when the computer was working fine and then run a scan for malware removal.

If you want to work in normal mode to remove the virus then try Microsoft online safety analysis, which manages similar definitions than MSE

    Security scanner: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

Or you can also run a scan with Kaspersky AVP tool:

  • DDPE F8 safe mode menu causes freeze on E7450 processor and controller

Hello. Strange problem here that happens (so far) on the new laptops to model E7450 processor and controller with DDPE installed. Only tried with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit installed.

    • The laptop freezes completely and must be cold turned off when I use the F8 method to get the safe mode. Gets the menu option of safe mode, it hangs. Hit the caps lock button does not switch the LED, no action at all in the laptop. Must cold power turned off at this point.
    • Using to start in SafeMode MSCONFIG method works and the laptop starts up in safe mode normally.
    • Method F8 safe mode works very well after that I have DDPE to disable and remove the Environmnent of authentication pre-seed (PBA)

Someone else approaching this combination of E7450 processor and controller/DDPE/F8 safe mode or have all of the answers from Dell support?

    Thank you.

    Hi bschwartz,

We need more information to help solve this problem. You know the specific version of RFP | E you leverage? The E7450s that we had problems with the first revisions of the BIOS and the SED because a new way of management with how data is passed from the disk to the operating system. I would definitely say update BIOS and using the latest version of RFP | E available.

  • Satellite T135 how to enter Safe Mode and HDD Recovery if 'F8' does not work

    Hello everyone

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite T135 and it crashed recently. Since then, whenever I turn it on, startup repair is enabled automatically. But it does not fix the error.
I tried to solve the problem with the system restore, but that no longer works. So I think I have to go through the procedure of HARD drive recovery.

The problem is that I have a lot of data on my laptop that I must first of all safe. I wanted to do it via Safe Mode that supposedly, I should be able to enter by pressing "F8" at initialization, when the Windows logo appears. But my laptop is not responding when I press F8, but rather getting a sound alert, if I press the button for a long time.

Apart from how to enter safe mode by pressing F8 during initialization does not work, I have a second question: Toshiba Recovery Wizard is the equivalent for the HDD recovery procedure? It is the only similar option that I could find...

Thank you very much for your advice.

    Hello

The recovery of HARD drive installs the image of Toshiba.
The image is the package that contains the operating system, drivers and all the tools that have been installed on the first day of purchase; simply said; using HARD drive recovery you would set the laptop back to factory settings.

You want to save the date before you install the operating system once more?
Well, remove the HARD drive, put this in a USB HDD enclosure and move the file to the HARD drive to another computer.
It would be the best way to get the file save.
