HDMI DVI connections

Is it possible to have the DVI and HDMI connected at the same time?       If I connect both the desktop but no icons. If I disconnect one of the connections then I get the icons to display

Thank you

Source code control - selects the video input signal.
DVI DVI selects the video input signal.
HDMI HDMI selects the video input signal.
VGA selects the video input VGA signal.

Default source - selects the primary video input signal or by default, when the monitor is connected to two video sources active and valid. The monitor will automatically determine the video format.

Auto Source switch - turns the automatic entry system video signal to turn on or off.

"Auto Source switch" is designed to be used when you have multiple sources to the monitor and want to use one of them at a time. Example... you plug a HDMI HDTV tuner and a computer/DVI. Turn on the computer and the monitor displays the output of the computer. Turn off the computer and turn on the HDTV tuner and the monitor automatically adjusts and view the output from the tuner.

If the two sources are on the option "Default Source" selects what input to display according to its configuration.

'Source code control' is to manually select a source.

    What I'm missing here?

    I have an i7 2.3 g-Mini late2012.  10.8.5. in a studio where I fed a dual display

using a separator of video signals by - everything first, Tripp Lite, now an Aluratek - DVI 2-port video splitter (powered

    units).

Followed by all the good order in start-up, the device worked for maybe a week and a half.

Walked away and returned after maybe 48 hours either from Friday to Monday.  Computer is running

"sleep" mode... The attempt, no signal wake video monitor not recognized.  Powerd deactivation/activation, no change.

Reset PRAM and disconnected/reconnected Mini power after 30 seconds... tried reconnect splitter/monitors...

sequence... still no resolution of the video signal to not watch.  Indicators on the splitter show the signal of the i7.

and connectivity to the monitors.  I excluded this device that the fault.

Am following the process mfgr correct insofar as the separator like so new out-of-box in reconnecting

power on it - getting nothing.  Strange thing is, I had the same problem with the Tripp Lite - that's why I

bought this Aluratek separator to replace.  Now, same problem.

When connected to same monitors, this worked fine right out of the box.

Now the same problem as the other separator.  Changed two different HDMI > DVI

    cables. All cables. No change.

Either monitors directly linking ON the HDMI Mini port - display works fine.

Tried the MiniDisplay port to the separator. didn't work...

Which may conflict in operating system - something making these monitors sleep, something system-wise

who is disrupting this process?  Even pulled all other connections (external USB port stuff) and it

    did not solve.

It is also a coincidence for two separators to fail with this same issue - seems to indicate something with the

Mac. In the meantime, no double posting until I can understand it.

    Any help greatly appreciated-

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

The terms of reference I could find for your office indicates that there are two HDMI ports on the back.

Those who are used to connect a monitor.

If your monitor doesn't have any HDMI input, then you will need to find an HDMI-DVI or an HDMI adapter / VGA to connect the cable from the monitor to the computer.

    Good luck

    Hello nancyv,.

I just want to be able to check before you go further than you use a HDMI cable and not something like a DVI connection.

You will be able to look at the HDMI connectors from the following link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01409647

If you use an HDMI cable, in fact, follow the steps from the links below:

    1. Update the BIOS.
    2. HDMI display resolution and problems of his (Windows 7 and Vista).
    3. No sound in Windows.

I would like to know if it works!

  • HPE HP8 1360t DVI connections and two monitors

I recently bought a new HP8 HPE 1360t directly from HP.

I finally got around to get set up last night. I like almost everything about it, EXCEPT to try to figure out how to make it work with two monitors.

Before buying, I contacted HP sales to confirm that this model could support two monitors in extended mode, which means that Office spans both monitors, giving me two times the workspace.

I have two monitors (1908FP) Dell that I got as part of a severance package from my last job (Yes, I know what you think) and down them as two monitors with the office in extended mode. They have both connected via DVI to a MOLEX splitter. They seem to be of DVI - D Single Link.

At the back of my new computer, there are three DVI ports:

-one on its own and it is DVI - I Dual Link (photo below)

-both grouped together and on the side. one looks like DVI - I Dual Link and the other DVI - D Dual Link

When you configure the workstation I naturally just assumed to connect all the cables DVI mail of my monitors for each of the two DVI ports on the side. Nothing happened.

I removed then each of them to test it on its own. Still nothing.

Then I plugged into the port at the top, and it worked. But it has only a single port.

So I went back and tried the other in each of the two and went to the panel display and but it does not recognize the second monitor.

At this point I don't know what to do. They told me this computer supports two monitors, but I don't see how it's done if neither of the DVI low ports to work.

Is there anything else I should do? Or have I not those who simply do not work?

I am running Windows 7 family Premium 64-bit (Service Pack 1), Direct X 11, and the graphics card is GeForce GT 630.

If it means anything NVIDIA control panel says my card and monitor are HDCP and it does not find the second monitor when I use setting up the functionality of multiple screens.

I would be very happy for any help and advice.

    Thank you.

    Lee

    This model uses a card mother IPMMB-FM (Formosa). The built-in rear I/O below;

    (5) - DVI - I (digital and analog output) and DVI - D (digital only)

When the computer is equipped with a dedicated graphics installed in slot PCIe x 16 card, this motherboard integrated DVI outputs are disabled. The only connections that you can use are those on GT630 discrete graphic card. This card must have at least a DVI and an HDMI output. Please post a photo of the back of your computer, centered on the graphics card. You may need to use a HDMI-DVI adapter to connect the second monitor.

I have a HP Envy 15 with the ATI 5830.  I want to connect an external monitor.  The outside is a Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD and has a DVI (also has HDMI, but poor quality when used from a PC). • No sound from the tv with hdmi w3 connection

I have a standard micro HDMI to connect my w3 to tv.  When a movie plays on the w3, I can see the video on the Tablet and the tv, but only the Tablet has its.  Is this normal?   I checked that the tv properly with other hdmi sources works but have no way to test the brand new microphone cable or w3 drivers.

I was unable to locate a compatible driver on intel.com.

However, I tried the w3 with a different TV and everything worked as expected: even with only a 'driver' Intel ESS Audio Device (WDM) available.  Passage of the tablet on television was automatic.  I did plug in and turn on the tablet in front of the TV and everything worked.

I tried the same procedure with the original tv and the results were good video but no sound from the TV.  The sound remained with the tablet.

I hae 2 TVs and 2 blueray players.  I swapped every combination of TV and player and everything works well.  Since the Tablet works well with at least one TV, the hdmi cable is ok.  My conclusion is that the current configuration of the Tablet works with some TVs and others not, and until I can find a better driver I'll just have to live with it.  I wanted to be able to watch videos with the Tablet when I traveled and will just have to wait until I get whenever I go to see if it works.  Not very desirable but it's like that.

Thanks for your suggestions and help.

  • IPad Air to TV HDMI cable connection problem

But when I connect iPad Air to the TV cable HDMI, the TV does not work after second played advertising time, the screen went black. I can continue to watch only, disconnect and reconnect the cable. How can I solve it? The iOS is 9.3.1.

    Hello HSIAO CHUN.

If you experience problems connecting to your iPad Air to your TV via a digital AV adapter from Apple, the information described below can help to restore all the features to your configuration.

If an application is no video display or read audio data

The app is not compatible with the adapter. Check compatibility on the information page of the application in the App Store or contact the developer.

If an alert says a HDCP compatible device

Your content is not compatible with the adapter. Movies, series TV and video streaming applications require High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). If you try to play these movies, shows and streaming videos using a connection digital non-HDCP - as the Apple VGA adapter - one alert will ask you for a HDCP compatible device.

If you need help with other issues

    1. Disconnect, then reconnect your adapter on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and your TV, monitor or projector.
    2. Make sure that your VGA or HDMI cable works, given that the issue could be with the cable.
    3. Remove all cables extension VGA or HDMI or converters. Accessories that convert a VGA or HDMI signals to different video formats (DVI, Composite, Component) are not compatible.
    4. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS.
    5. Contact Apple support.

  • Satellite A200 - Radeon HD 2600: cannot reach 1680 x 1050 using a HDMI-dvi cable

    Hello

I use a LCD (ACER 22 ') which has VGA and DVI inputs. When I connect my laptop to the screen using the VGA cable, I get resolution 1680 x 1050 without problem, but when I want to use the digital output of the laptop (using an HDMI to DVI cable), I can reach only 1440 x 900.

  • Can I use HDMI to connect PC to TV?

I have a p7-1020 HP running Windows 7, 64-bit and a Viore LED24VF60 TV. I can connect to the TV using the analog VGA connections available on the PC and the TV. It works well with a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

I tried to use the DVI on the PC connection, a DVI to HDMI adapter and a cable HDMI to the TV. This works except that the image is too large for the screen. The Start Menu and the Date and time are not visible, even if the resolution of PC is set to 1920 x 1080.

Is this typical? Do I need a special driver? (I checked out the web site of Viore but could not find an answer).

The DVI video signal is the same as HDMI. The only differences are the plugs and DVI does not audio. If I attached a DVI to HDMI adapter to DVI output of my PC, then a standard out HDMI cable to the TV.

My original message noted that became the signal to the TV but it has been "spread" too and the perimiter of the Office was not visible. Since I found the solution. My graphics card is ATI and after much hunting around in the ATI Catalyst Control Panel, I finally found a slider to adjust the overscan and was able to adapt to the desktop to fit the TV.

  • Outputs of Revo RL80 HDMI/DVI does not

    Hi all.

I bought an Acer Revo of simplyacer.co.uk and I don't have much luck with it.

Initially, I was going to set up on my TV because this is where he lived, but television was not picking up a signal via HDMI. No biggie, cannot be a driver or just my TV being a pain problem.

I plug into one of my my rig of game on DVI monitors, working and so I go on update and installation to windows 8.1. I also install the latest Intel HD 3000 gfx driver with the hope that it will fix the HDMI and TV somehow. Turn it back on, everything works fine.

Turn off, unplug the monitor and HDMI to TV to enter again. Still undetected. Try a few different HDMI cables to see if it is a cable problem. No luck.

Next step is to connect to the platform game to the TV via HDMI to ensure that my TV is not to blame and it works fine.

Final nail in the coffin is I reconnect the Revo for the monitor of the PC, and now it works either, so that makes HDMI and DVI outputs null and void.

I can't think of anything I can do without opening the case and having a peak inside, but that will void the warranty.

Guess who I got a long wait (* beep * may day holiday) technical support.

Any ideas what I can do, or is it simply a unit of spleen?

    Thank you!
