Hear sound other users on my account

Hello, I share my computer with my children and we have open simultaneously accouts.

The problem is when someone has an open website that makes noise, this noise is heard on other accounts.

How can we define Windows to turn off the sound from the activity of other users?

Hello amal, thank you for your response. Unfortunately (again), do as you say the sound of other users are disconnected but this is my sound. Reactivate my account restores the sound of all users.

(1) is it because I'm on 7 not Vista? (Sorry mГЄlГ in the creation of the question)

(1) nope

You can't mute a user account, so just turn off the sound on this program and Web page when you leave the account

It's in the privacy of having the username and password of someone, but it is advisable to monitor the activity of your child on the internet. In Windows Vista, you have the parental control feature in Control Panel (it's available in some editions). I suggest to go Control Panel and user account and chose to activate and follow your child's account. For Parental control in Windows Vista, take a look on:

There is also another product of Windows Live, which calls the family safety, to use the mother and the child would need live account. You could learn more about it in view:

By these tools, you can monitor your child safety with respection of privacy. It is not a good practice to get the password of your children. Also, you should give it a safety advises on internet. I think it would be a good website to use resources for your daughter:

    Hello

You can also try to connect to the original administrator account by pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE (all three keys twice at the same time), you will get the classic login prompt. Type the administrator user name and password. You should be able to connect.

To activate this visible account to the Welcome screen, once logged in click on Start-> Run Type &-> Regedit-> ok.

    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> SOFTWARE-> Microsoft-> Windows NT-> CurrentVersion-> Winlogon-> SpecialAccounts-> UserList

Select the username administrator and set the value to 1-> of the close Registry Editor and restart your computer.

When you log on a Windows Vista-based or a Windows 7 computer by using a temporary profile, you receive the following error message:

The user profile Service has not logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

If you tried to log on to Windows and received an error message telling you that your user profile is damaged, you can try to fix it. You will need to create a new profile and then copy the files from the existing to the new profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

where are the 'experts' on these forums adverstised?  I can't get an answer to a simple question.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Here we are, ok, I'm not an expert, but try this:

Right click on 'My images' > share > specific people... > select that you want to share this folder with.

    ...

After that, try to connect by using a different account. If you will not be able to open C:\Users\"FirstUser"\Pictures, you try to extend the network in the left pane of Windows Explorer > expand ComputerName > expand users > expand "FirstUser" > photos

  • Troubleshooting slow running under a user account from Win7 machine and normally with the other user accounts on same (or other) third-party app

Hoping that this is not too off-topic, but I'm really running out of ideas...

I have this trading program full license (TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4.2) who has worked on my Win7/64 for several months, and in recent weeks, has become excruciatingly slow for every user interaction (but not for real computing), making it essentially unusable (1'30 to launch vs 3 normally, 30 "seconds waiting to launch a 'new project' vs.)<1s normally,="">

When 'pending' launch application or respond to a command, 12% of the full CPU (8 logical cores on CPU Core i7 third Gen) is used by a single process: the offending application (look at the Task Manager, 1 logical core is used to +/-80%, a second for about 15% of this process). All other processes are still at 0% CPU usage.

Of course, I tried & tested many things including full-/ re-installation of the application with a careful cleaning etc., corresponding registry entries software disabling AV (Avira free), .net Framework Repair Tool, etc... no change! The disc has been checked and is OK.

    Some interesting tips:

This app worked fine for several months before the problem started abruptly a few weeks; I tried to uninstall .net Framework 4.5 updates to a date prior to the date of beginning of apparent problem, does not; I came back to an earlier version of the offending software: no change.

But the most interesting observation is that the app works well at the launch of any other user account on the same machine Win7/64 (whether with the normal credentials or admin), so for me that means there should be no conflict of software on the computer, only something in my profile of the main user who causes the app behave so slowly.

At this point, the Helpdesk of the seller looks distraught - too.

    Suggestions for troubleshooting?

BTW: I consider that this computer is well managed, and no rogue or untrusted app sleeps there. my main profile is fairly heavily customized for my work, so I want to avoid workaround last resort would be to create a new user account as work environment main (besides the fact that I hate not to find the root cause of the problem)

    Hello

Given that this problem is specific to the user's profile. I suspect that some programs that are installed or some settings in the profile translates into this problem. You can fix a corrupted user profile by following the steps in this article:

  • is "Release manager" software of hp. It opens in a pop-up on my other user account.

I run Windows Vista 32-bit.  I wonder if the following message is a HP program. It opens in a window in my other user account, just after I start:

"User account control program Version Manager of Hewlett - Packard Company" and

    "c:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HPAdvisor\VersionManager.exe" and "Install updates".

I was concenered, it wasn't a HP program because I recently visited a site installed, what a service repair workshop was a great cookie in the folder my documents. And we told him he would do damage to my pc, if you plan to remove.

I ended up formatting of the hard disk and reinstall all software, after having consulted the Microsoft support forum and follow the directions I found on how to do it on the HP website. Stupidly I have no back up my documents because I didn't take the time before hand and not the formatting of the hard drive because I didn't want to postpone the virus after reinstalling the operating system, etc., and I lost a lot of information.

In any case the "User Account Control Program Version Manager... ask the password for my administrator account, now.  I am still concerned that the great cookie is somehow still on my PC, perhaps in the registry... I am a novice with the pc don't know the ins and outs.

    Hello lzmonk,

Manager version is part of HP Advisor and can be enabled or disabled via the HP Advisor program.

Launch of HP Advisor and you'll see a key that allows you to access the settings. In the settings menu say Manager version does not run at startup.

  • When I turn on my computer, already set up profiles disappear and are replaced by 'Kiosk' and 'other users' options that require passwords. I can get into 'other users' and find my previous user accounts, but lose them again after the reboot.

I bought a laptop with Windows 7 installed a few days ago. I started to set up user accounts, administrator and a guest. So far, I had been able to shut down and restart with the accounts of users even reappear. I turned on my computer and two 'user accounts' had replaced my previous. Named "kiosk", which requires a user name and password which I do not have access, and one named 'other users' that requires a user name and password. I type in comments and no password and then I can access the guest account. When I disconnect my administrator profile is available next to my usual guest account. Restart the "kiosk" and "other accounts" reappear. If it's any help, as soon as I put on my computer, I had named MDX kiosk and administrator accounts. I deleted the account kiosk MDX. I don't know if this is related at all. It is not necessarily a problem, but a disadvantage however and I panicked when this popped up on my computer.

Yes, you can uninstall MDX (it is called the digital experience of Microsoft) and it will remove the kiosk account and no trace of it, and then restart your machine. All other accounts on the machine should stay, but I would like to make a backup first. This should solve your problem. Associated with the store, you bought from should have done that for you, why they failed, I have no idea (we are instructed to do before the release of the machine to customers). If you don't mind asking me, where did you buy the machine?

  • using the admin account to create shortcuts in folders of other users

Is it possible to be able to edit other users of data such as creating a shortcut for them without having to restart the computer? The same happens for messing around in Program Files, Program Files (x 86) or the Start Menu.
I'm looking forward and a simple operation that used to take seconds XP is a bread PITA in Vista and 7 because I now need to log in as administrator, disable UAC, restart, wait, you connect again as the admin, my simple management operation, re - enable user annoyance control and then restart it again.
What used to take 2 minutes now takes 10-15 minutes because of all what to expect as the computer to reboot and let me, connect.

Am I missing something? A way to drag some files where I want to make a shortcut and you NOT say "Windows cannot create the shortcut you want here. Do you want to put me on the desktop instead?

I'm supposed to be the administrator, these things really annoy me. UAC is useful to raise my usual account, but it's really annoying when it blocks the admin to do something. At least, it could give an admin logged in as the administrator the opportunity to do what he wants to do when messing around with files and folders. Even an annoying "are you sure?" would be better than being completely blocked.

If there is a way to do it, let me know. I'm not talking about 'doing the shortcut on the desktop, then copy it where you want', I want to just open an Explorer window and be able to do what I want, as I often need to perform multiple operations and the delay being the guest for everyone is really annoying and slows me down.
Especially when I compare it to Windows 95, 98, 98SE and XP, I've done this sort of thing with extensive experience.

Windows9x version boosted BACK with only laughable security restrictions, it is not a good argument in support of your complaint. Your problem is caused by UAC, which was introduced in Vista. You can work around it by running Windows Explorer under elevated as follows:

    1. Start an elevated command prompt.
    2. Kill explorer.exe from this command prompt.
    3. Explorer.exe from this command prompt.
You can now use Windows Explorer to access the folders of other users.
