Height of HDD W530?

I just bought this w530:

http://www.Newegg.ca/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16834312665CVF

I also bought an ssd of 7mm to swap with the hard drive.

I took the disk hard w530 and tried mounting rails for the ssd but is not an adjustment too tight whatsoever on the hard drive. I'm not sure whether this means that the hard drive is 7 mm or 9.5 mm, because the difference is not terrible.

How can I know for sure what size of my hard drive is, and so if the rails will be fits my 7mm ssd, or if I need to get the new track for 7 mm discs.

After the transfer of the metal nesting more starting from the HDD to the SSD, it fits perfectly.

What is the height of the Bay of HDD L540, 7mm or 9.5 mm?

I am considering getting one, but as the original HARD drive is one of these drives to 5400 RPM terribly slow, I would replace it immediately for a 7200 RPM drive. The ones I found are 9.5 mm in height.

    Hi Wamiduku,

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

Documents related to the Lenovo ThinkPad L540 States that it has been bundled with a 7 mm or 9.5 mm. You can manually measure the height of the disc HARD leaving.

If you can private message me the serial number and number of MTM to your device, I can check the specifications with which the system has been delivered.

  • Size 9.5 mm or 12.5 mm from satellite Pro A300 HDD Bay?

The older standard size for 2.5 HDD "has a height of 9.5 mm.
WD has now produce (750 GB and 1 TB) Sata2 2.5 "HDD which are at height of 12.5 mm.

The A300 HARD drive Bay can support this (thicker) HARD drive?

    Yes.
    No problem at all.

I have 2 hard drives in my Satellite A300. Two of them are 9.5 mm but it not there no problem if you want to use hard drives with 12.5 mm in height.

  • Noise electric high height on Satellite L650

    Hi guys,.

I bought a computer laptop satellite L650 and right of the day 2, I noticed there is a noise of great height (you can check the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XLiejMy5Ns) comes from somewhere under the touchpad when you browse the internet. It is very annoying, and since I noticed it first, very hard to ignore unless there is music in the background.

I can hear it almost anywhere if I put my ear on the keyboard, but it is more intense on the touchpad. If I close the browser, the noise stops (so I don't think that it's because of the C-States of the i5 processor, because when idle, the noise stops and when running several programs or games, the noise is not there also).

I took it to the service, having still 6 months warranty aprox. Initially, they said it's because the fan was full of dust. Of course, this was not the case. Then, they changed my motherboard and the cooler. This does not solve it. Third time, they changed the HDD (because of areas defective, they said).

Anyone have the same problem? What do you suggest to me that I should do? Take it back to service again? It seems that they don't know how to fix it or the other. I also had one argue with them because at first they refused to fix it, saying: it is not a malfunction, so I'm worried they'll just give the laptop back the way I took it, after the 4th currently in use for this problem.

Any information or advice is helpful!

    Thank you!

    Vlad

It's really strange question. How it may be related to IE?

I think you should test it with the Chrome browser to see if this is something to do with browsers.
For me it's not logical, but anything is possible.

    Please send comments.

One last thing: you use original OS that you got with your laptop or day 2 you use clean install of the OS?

  • 13 - 4106na: spectrum x 360 HDD/SSD

    Hello, I am looking at the spectrum of 13-4106na x 360, and I was wondering two things on this laptop;

First of all, this is that with an SSD of m2 in height, so I wonder if there is room to put in a HARD drive for storage? I understand it's a rather small machine, it might not, but with volatile SSD how life can be I want a HDD in there also.

Second, is the m2 on a SATA bus or a PCIe bus?

    Hello

First of all, according to my research, all the spectrum HP 13 x 360-4nnnaa are pre-built machines, nothing can be changed after that. So please do a search before buying, the upgrade of this kind of machines will cost you an arm and a leg. I think that the first generation used gen 5 processors Intel (13-40nnaa) and the current generation uses generation Intel processors 6 (13-41nnaa).

    Back to your questions:

    (a) only God knows how good, bad, ugly interms of life between SSDS and HARD drives.  At this point, no option of HDD on spectrum 360 13 x - 4nnnaa machines.

    (b) m2 uses PCIe connectors so it must be bus PCIe.

    Kind regards.

  • What is the interface for a HDD Satellite Pro L20?

I want to upgrade the hard disk of 40 GB in my Satellite Pro L20 to a larger drive. The manual does not say what type of interface, it is. Any hard disk of standard internal SATA 2.5 "x 1/8 H will be adapted?

    Hello

You will need the height of 2.5 9.5 mm IDE HDD 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB or 100GB.

As you can see the IDE and not SATA HDD is necessary!

  • Satellite C660 - 11 H - HDD light is not blinking and laptop extremely slow

Hi, I recently started having problems with the laptop above, when you start the screen blocks on the screen 'windows', the HARD drive light does not work, either.
The computer loads up thereafter, but is very slow.

Please note that the laptop was recently withdrawn only from a relatively sho height - problems began shortly after.

I think it might be the hard drive, Pls help.

    Thank you

    > I think it might be the hard drive, Pls help.
I agree with you. It's probably HDD Hat doesn't work properly.
Hard drives are cheap and you can exchange it alone then I recommend get you the new HARD drive, Exchange, install the original recovery image and test functionality.

If you need assistance you are welcome.

  • ProBook replace 450 G1 HDD/SSD

    Hello

I want to upgrade my ProBook 450 G1 E9Y39EA with an SSD. So my tought, I have replace the HARD original with the SSD drive and I take ot the optical drive and I put the HARD drive in place, through a Caddy. But in my understanding, the height of the optical drive is 9, 5mm, while the Toshiba HDD (which comes with the s) is about 10 mm (0.4 in).

So my question, is this a problem, or the HARD drive will fit just right?

    Thanks in advance!

Not exactly. The HARD drive will fit in a caddy ODD of 9.5 mm.

    https://www.jacobsparts.com/items/HDDBAY-02/

You have the right idea. In the caddy/adapter optical drive is not bootable and will roll at a slightly slower speed, still good enough for storage crude but does not for the operating system running. Put the SSD in the computer and the old HDD in the adapter optical caddy.

I'm using A300-14V and now I need to install the second HARD drive. But 2.5 hard drives have different heights from 9.5 mm to 12.5 mm including a right for my Satellite A300? And I'll need to also buy a slide.

I mean there is a second HARD-drive Bay, but have you checked if there is a connector needed?

  • Need new HDD for Satellite A110-178

    Hello people,

Anyone know where I can order/buy a new internal hard drive for my laptop cause my hard drive died.

    Greetz

    Hi friend

of course, the internet offers a wide range of hard disk drives. You have to do is check google and type something like "2.5 inches HDD SATA" or «SATA HDD laptop»

For some reason, you can check for example ebay and search there for SATA hard drive, which is integrated in laptops (the height of the car shouldn´t be more than 9.5 mm).
It s just important that you're looking for SATA and IDE not. Any other topic doesn´t. Oh, I'm not sure what the maximum size of HDD machine can take, toshiba says something about 120GB, but you will have to prove by yourself if the machine may take longer.

    Welcome them

I found the information on the MHV2200BT and see that there is a box slightly larger than most portable 2.5 "HDD. SA is 12.5 mm height, rather than the usual 9.5 mm.

This will make unfit to buy another HARD drive?

    Hello

Hmm the old HDD is 12.5 mm and the new is 9.5mmm
Well I put t exactly how the HARD drive has been mounted in the P100 of boyfriend but in many cases, the HARD drive is placed in the media (media).

If the new HARD drive would mingle not with this support.

But why you put take t a 12.5 mm HARD drive? There are a lot of 2.5, 12.5 mm, SATA hard drive that would be 100% compatible with your laptop!

  • Strange question - W530/bed bugs removal temperature tolerance

    Hi all

I've owned a W530 since more than a year. I can include more detailed if necessary specifications, but for now, he has a Samsung 840 HDD of 250 GB and 32 GB of RAM. Currently, there are the HARD disk provided with the W530 in the ultrabay slot.

I followed this forum for some time - I have two much older thinkpads, a T60 and a z60m as well. The advice here has been extraordinarily useful time and time again. It's really a wonderful resource.

    So my question:

I live adjacent to an apartment that has been recently confirmed have bed bugs. Mine has been inspected and found to be clean. However, the other day, I found a dead bug and my girlfriend has some suspicious bites to research. Given this set of circumstances, I guess we have.

I have made arrangements to stay elsewhere and began a laborious process to ensure that all items taken will be any unwelcome travellers.

However, I am at a loss on how to make sure that the laptop is not carrying anything. Greater than 120 degrees f. heat, maintained for a period of time, will kill bed bugs or eggs (this is how ensure us that clothes are taken will be clean).

If disabled, can, the W530 be exposed to such temperatures (possibly up to 140) without damage? If not, is there any other suggestions?

Thanks again for any help that anyone can provide.

Check the specifications of maximum temperature of storage for the laptop.

  • W530 does not reset the widows 8

Okies, I've never had a problem until recently. Windows 8 came with this machine, and I've had problems of performance for a month now. I just soldered on until yesterday when I continued to get different blue screens and need to reboot... now it won't restart, and so I did the press ENTER to reach the area of the HDD... selected the option of quick reset troubleshooting, has no, so I went back and selected the full reset and it gets to about 65% and stops wrote there is a mistake and requiring a reboot... it happened two time... now when it restarts, it tries to do a reset again... without asking him.

Can someone give me a help here? Is this normal? Normally I physically break a computer and never get to the point where it is necessary to reset... so I'm really at a loss here.

It of a W530 and has 16 GB of RAM. Everything I run/ran on it photoshop and Lightroom, Firefox, Audacity, Roxio, Avast Protection against virus, online backup service and a program called Star stacker.

What happened on my computer if I remember correctly, it is that backup files to win 8 were never installed in the correct area. So when he's going to do a wipe and reinstall... he wiped... but not a reinstall. The fix was to return and have installed a new hard drive.

ALSO if you have fingerprint reader and especially the color calibration tool installed. Make a note on the repair to confirm that those who work corectly before sending it back. If it is under warranty, they will replace all that appears worn or damaged. When the mine back, cover the keyboard has been replaced due to minor damage.

The calibrator replacement that came on the new cover of keyboard needs information from the screen, which has not been properly attributed in the repair center, so my Stallion does not work either. In the end, after two trips to the repair center, I got a new screen, hard drive, keyboard, reader of fingerprints and monitor color... and thirteen new gray hairs. :-D

  • T420 sizes of disk Physics Max (SSD/HDD)

My venus T420 with a 320 GB Seagate HDD (6mm high) who was quickly put on a 160 GB Intel X-25 (height 7.5 mm). Recently, I needed more space and tried an another upgrade to a 256 GB OCZ Vertex 4 (9mm height). The OCZ is uncomfortably tight and I'm afraid to damage the laptop, so I'm holding off trying to find an SSD of 7mm. What SSD others use to upgrade their T420 to 256 GB and more?

An alternative is to buy and connect a drive 256 GB mSATA and put back the old 320 HARD drive in the drive tray. But this raises the question of the limits of size of HARD drive. Most (all?) 1 TB drives are double tray and too big for the T420. So my second question is what is the largest capacity HARD drive that would fit in the T420 drive tray?

The mSATA option seems more elegant and offers a lot of total storage space. What I forget?

Gentlemen, first of all thanks for all these information on physical disk sizes and on the other hand, I thank you for the direction of me in the right direction. When I got my calipers out, I assumed the problem was of height of the disc. But your contribution suggested that my 9.06 mm high disk should work perfectly.

The culprit turned out to be the widthof the car. I used screws with heights of head high to mount the drive in the caddy. After the damper rubber on the screws, the set was too broad.

More small screw and life is perfect. Now cloning!
