Hello Service

I am trying to install iTunes and I have a popup that says: "Hello" (morning Service) Service Service was able to start. Make sure you have sufficient privileges to start system services. I'm the administrator on the computer, so I don't see why I shouldn't have privileges. I also run Safari 4.0.3 and it works fine. Could someone please tell me what to do and how to do it. Thank you in advance.

Hello the long beach of dl,

You need not run Hello service to have iTunes on your computer.

You can look in the event viewer and see if there are errors on iTunes or the Hello Service.
By default, the Hello service is started and the startup type is set to automatic.
The path to the executable file is: C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe. You can search and find this file?

I find a 3rd party software removal tool and then have it remove all traces of iTunes, including the Bonjour service.
Use the control panel to uninstall iTunes and software components in the following order:

    1. iTunes
    2. QuickTime
    3. Apple Software Update
    4. Apple Mobile Device Support
    5. Hello
    6. Application of Apple Support (iTunes 9 or later)

Download the latest version of iTunes for Windows, and then try to install again.

    I hope this helps.

  • Autostart Hello Service...

Hello service is required by my Tivo wireless TV service.  The question I have is restarting my computer, I need to start the program Hello service has even thought that I said that I want it to start automatically. I changed the setting to start automatically several times, but when I restart the computer, it continues to require a manual start. Any suggestions on how I can get the service starts automatically and stay like that? Using Vista.

    Hi again,

    «Hello: frequently asked questions (FAQ)»

    http://support.Apple.com/kb/ht2250

"Q: Why am I not Hello on my Windows system? ."

If you install Windows Hello manually, the more likely reason is that it has been installed by an application that relies on the features of Hello. For example:

    • iTunes uses Hello looking for music libraries shared, to find AirPort Express devices to listen to music to and find the Apple TV. »
  • iTunes saying hello Service does not, but it is

iTunes says that the Bonjour service has been disabled, so it won't recognize any of my phones i6 or my iPad when it's connected, but the Bonjour service is running.  I checked each thread posted, uninstalled and reinstalled many times by following the procedures I found, deleting files/folders and even lost the backups of the device trying to remove all the files and folders of Hello and Apple. I checked my firewall and antivirus settings, ensuring that there is no blockage and I even added exceptions on both Hello. More radical step, I took was disable my home router firewall, PC firewall and disable my antivirus when the last attempt to re - install the iTunes software, nothing helps. I am running Win7 SP1 (64-bit) with the latest updates and software AVG Internet Security. I have no problem connecting to the iTunes store or by downloading the app updates. Whenever I connect a device, the mobile driver load successfully and my PC is grateful for connection. Checked after each installation that Hello both Apple Mobile Device services are actually run, but iTunes continues to say that he was disabled and my devices will not connect.

Does anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance

    Hi plennon54,

I understand that, despite your efforts on this point, iTunes is saying it can't connect to your devices due to Hello and services Apple Mobile Devices (supposedly) does not. In some cases, it may require that a good few more configuration in which concerns the isolation of security (such as antivirus software) of the image software. Still, an overview to the information described below.

If you still have problems after you test your connection, your security software may interfere with the connection of your computer with iTunes.

In some cases, it may be necessary to temporarily remove your security software to isolate a problem. Some Internet security applications don't completely uninstall, then you might need to download and run a utility to clean for your security software so that it can be completely removed.

Work with your security software provider to allow the complete list of ports and services that use Apple products or if you need assistance with their uninstalled software.

Make sure that there is not more than one type of security software installed at the same time. If you have more than one type of security software installed, you may experience other performance problems.

  • HP Wireless Printing Issues D110 - Hello service not recognized

I recently replaced a router at home... an old barricade smc with a netgear wndr3700v4

As this changes, we were able to print wireless from our mac... We did the things:

    (1) upgrade to the latest drivers for printer HP for Mac OS x 10.6.x

    (2) remove all printers and readded the D110 HP (no problem... was able to find the printer question o/n)

    (3) when you try to print, the print utility gives the following informational message:

"Unable to connect to the printer; retrying in 30 seconds"

    (4) to access "show printer Web page...". "the installation of the printer, a browser appears and tries to access:

    (5) of the printer itself, I am able to print the page HP Network Configuration... everything is allowed and seems good... the printer is configured for ip address: 192.168.2.103

    (6) since my mac, I can ping 192.168.2.103 without any problem...

    (7) since my mac, if I point a browser window on http://192.168.2.103/ I am able to access the web server on the printer...

While I can tell... it seems something weird with the Bonjour service... or the router to block somehow Hello packets.

    Any thoughts? Suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Hi Dave,.

Check the configuration of your router for wensure that it put in place to allow multicasting, I suggest to check the following settings in the configuration of your router and check if that can help you:

Under Advanced > Setup > Lan Setup, ensure that the RIP-Direction established as long as both, the RIP Version like RIP - 2 M.

Under Advanced > configuration > WAN Configuration, make sure that disable the transmission by IGMP proxy is NOT checked.

After you save the change reboot the router and check if that can help you.

If it persists, I would suggest checking to update the router firmware available, as well contact Netgear support to check any change of parameters that may affect the management of multicast router.

  • Cannot start the various services of the system; "Error 5: access is denied."

While the usual game of services configured to start automatically, they, well, aren't... And trying to make em start manually translates "access denied" or "dependency service or group could not start" error. Only a small handful of load on their own, but they do not include, for example, the Remote Procedure Call service.

The user account is supposed to have administrative access; the Group of user accounts (accessed via the control panel) is empty, and (as I am running XP Home) I have no access to the local users and groups. Restart in safe mode and the connection via the administrator account cause the same exact symptoms.

I was not present when the problem started, but I am told that it took place after the system crashed and restarted. Start up times are extended, but do not understand the error messages.

I can't use the catering service because it does not start. The same for the Windows Installer service. The services that start are:

    Plug-and-Play
    Java Quick Starter
Event log (which has no error)
    Hello Service
    AVG Free8 Watchdog Service
    ATI Hotkey Poller
    Apple Mobile Device

Last known good Configuration boots in exactly the same way.

I found a thread online, noting that if you see this article of your registry, you can get rather more solid info on your services:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

When looking for the RPC here service, I found that it relied on "c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe" in order to load. Of course, attempting to run manually giving access denied errors.

I rebooted in safe mode and checked the permissions (by opening the properties file and then by checking the Security tab) - group Everone has had total control, but on the re-disabling/enabling access error messages have disappeared. I rebooted normally and the RPC service was back running, as well as all the others.

Unfortunately, after restarting once more permissions whacked again and I was forced to repeat the procedure. At this time I am pretty certain that some malware is involved, but you can consider the initial problem fixed. Thanks for your time.  :)

  • Is it safe define a service I'm not sure if it is necessary to manual?

I'm vaguely something XP Recalling the definition of the services that you are not sure if they are necessary or not in 'manual', and I wonder if I can screw up the system by assigning accidentally bad service on 'manual' instead of the way automatic which I can in disabling their?

There are several services that I'm not sure that I need at all, and a few that I know I will only need 1/2 the time, depending on where I use the laptop. I leave these set some automatic because it is impossible to predict when times are and what it takes depends on my position.

in any case, it's Vista Home Premium on a laptop with only 1 GB of RAM, so turn off everything that I don't absolutely need is vital. Is it safe to put everything on 'manual' for example?

Otherwise, what must absolutely be set to 'automatic '?

I'm looking at these two sites for advice on what can be disabled:

    http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/servicecfg.htm

    http://www.optimizingpc.com/Vista/optimizing_windows_services.html

You will need to try and see what happens. Some programs will automatically
start a service set to manual, when he needs it. Other programs seek only
service running and therefore do not start the service if it is not executed
    (Windows Defender is an example).

For example, ITunes has 4 or 5 services. Autostart will iTunes all but one
of them (Hello service). For example, you can configure all services with ITunes
in the name of manuel. But the bonjour service must be automatic (or you
    need to start it manually).

    DO NOT set all manual.

Use these sites to guide you.

  • HP LaserJet P1102w: Hello tour-HP LaserJet P1102w

I changed the network settings on the printer to turn off Hello. It worked.

Now I want to turn it back on but I can't enter the HTML Config page more.

The settings of the printer, I learned to Options & supplies, click on the utility tab, click Open the printer utility and then click on the button HTML config but nothing happens. What can I do?

    Hi @Johnny_Bravo,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support with your application settings.

I understand that you use a HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer with a Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan computer and you want to access to the Embedded Web Server (EWS) the printer so you can relight the Hi setting. I would like to help with that.

The SAP is open but a web browser by entering the IP address of the printer in the address bar. You can get the IP address of the printer by printing a configuration page of the printer.

Once you have the IP address of the configuration page, enter it in the browser and it should take you to the integrated Web server. If it is not that you need to reconfigure the printer on the network.

If are are able to connect to the EWS printer follow the steps below to change the setting for Hello.

    1. click on the tab network in the navigation menu of EWS.

    2. under Advanced settings on the left side of the screen, click Hello.

    3. click on the menu drop down next to higher priority Hello Service, select printing 9100and then click apply.

    4. under Advanced settings, click Hello to confirm that the changes applied.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.
  • Hello/iTunes/Apple Mobile Device not install even though I am the administrator

Since end of February I could not reinstall ITunes.  It all started when I tried to put in day, and it wouldn't work.  In the end I uninstalled ITunes and tried to reinstall, but I kept getting this message that the Apple Mobile Device could not be installed (?), and I need to check that I have sufficient privileges to install.

    Since then, I have:

    Ran as administrator

Made sure that 'everyone', 'my user' and the 'administrator' (pretty much just me) have full access

    Disabled user account control

    Cleaned the registry with CCleaner

Command prompt to check the C drive?

Nothing has worked.  I even went in the ITunes folder where my music is, was the administrator, and it still does not.  Recently, I uninstalled Quicktime, Hello and the Apple Mobile Device... everything that Apple.  Still would not work.  I got:

"'Hello Service' (morning Service) service could not be installed.  Make sure you have sufficient privileges to install system services. ».  If I hit "ignore", then it will just do the same except replace "Hello" with "Apple Mobile Device".

    I am at a loss.

    Well, I have a Hewlett-Packard laptop

HP Pavilion Notebook PC g6. 64-bit operating system.

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    6.1.7601 SP1 Build 7601

Processor: AMD A4 - 3305M APU with 2 locations, 2 Lossnay, 1900 Mhz, graphics HD Radeon (TM)

If you need more information, let me know (and maybe how to get it).

    I'm REALLY at a lost.

I posted my reply because of what you have posted; It was incomplete and I thought that you might have missed something:

Recently, I uninstalled Quicktime, Hello and the Apple Mobile Device... everything that Apple.

    There was also:

    Apple Software Update

Application of Apple Support (iTunes 9 or later)
On some systems, iTunes can install two versions of the Apple Application Support. What is expected. If both are present, do not forget to uninstall both versions.

If it still does not, take my advice and contact Apple technical support or ask in their community.

    See you soon.

    Hi Tim,.

Nick was kind enough to confirm that the problem has been corrected in a 1.2.1 construction, so the version on cisco.com engineering should be ok.

That's all what I did & I can still print - woohoo! I do NOT uninstall. When I tried my system became glitch.

In any case I do not know if issues (he could) and I am on Windows 7 pro, so I don't have any idea how to find in windows 8. There are several ways to get these commands:

    1. find the Hello Service - double click & Select STOP let this window opens

    II. THE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION:

    • - Administrative Tools - start System Configuration. Right click - run as administrator OR
    • Start - type: msconfig; Right click - Run As Administrator

    2. open the 'Services' tab and deselect/uncheck THEN Hello

    4. do not close the window GO BACK to:

    III SERVICES:

5: back services reselect Hello & this time select DISABLE.

    6. close the SERVICES;

    7. close the CONFIGURATION SYSTEM, it prompts you to restart;

    8. reboot

Phew! I had no idea there are so many steps. Good luck

  • Can't ssh on Mac OS VPN server

    I can connect to my VPN L2TP server with my iPhone running iOS 10 through my network of data carriers and passed to my home network from Comcast, but everything does not work;

    What works:

Access default Web site running the macOS Server using its IP address

    Public Web surfing

I can ping my phone of any system IP address on my network

What does not (what I tried):

SSH to any system macOS on my network

Access screen sharing on any system macOS on my network

Resolve the local hostname to an IP address

    More information

my iphone is running iOS 10

My computers are running macOS Sierra

I use Mac OS as host VPN server

I use the client VPN L2TP iOS 10.

Firewalls in the system is disabled.

Typical VPN connections, you use the DNS server of your iPhone and not the DNS server of the network corresponding to your server.  In addition, Hello services are only available on the LAN.  So you have no way to resolve names to IP adrdesses for the network, you are VPNing.

The only easy solution from an iPhone is to make a list of IP addresses and use them to connect instead of host names.  using IPs will work as long as your ISP does not also use the same internal (like 192.168 or 10.0) IP address than the network that you connect to.
