Helmet on 8700 XPS does not

When I plug the headphones to one of the sockets on the windows XPS 8700 acknowledges that a device has been plugged on (or disconnected) the audio jack, but no device appears on the control panel "Sound".  (he has 2 NVIDIA unused inputs and speakers.) and no sound in headphones.

The speakers work fine, but no helmet.  Thanks if you can help.

Try plugging the headphones on top of the headphone plug turn instead of the back which is difficult to see and correctly identify. The top of the Tower has 2 usb ports, a microphone port and an output port helmet.

I have a XPS 8700 bought in October and running Windows 7.  I have problems bluetooth works properly.  I downloaded and installed the latest driver, but when you look at Dell 1703 Bluetooth Wireless in the Device Manager, it has an error under device status of "this device cannot start. (Code 10) "I tried a few times to uninstall the driver, reboot, reinstall nothing doesn't.

Any idea what I can do to get this working?

    Thank you

Craig, you have to have, like me, received among the some 280 8700 XPS who left the factory without having drivers Bluetooth wireless Dell 1703 published... so your BT will not BT 4.0 update and so does not work. Go to Dell Support live chat and let guys try to solve your problem remotely, which they will not be able to do. When they did their thing, tell them you want a technician on-site, assuming you are still under warranty, to come to your home and install a half Mini Card Intell 6235 WLAN BT in the former location of 1703... install the two updates of 6235 Dell driver support and you will have a flawless Bluetooth program. No guarantee? Get a card for $25-30 6235 and install it your self takes about 20 minutes.

  • 2720 XPS does not start after replacing mSATA SSD 32 GB

    Hello

I replaced the mSATA SSD 32 GB on my 2720 XPS with a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD.

When I go into the BIOS, I see the new drive mSATA.

But when I try to start, I get the error "no boot device."

I have not changed the settings in my BIOS after permutation of the SSD but I noticed that my first boot device is now internal hard drive instead of Windows boot device, or something in front.

Any ideas? I tried not to put the 32 GB SSD back in again to see if it boots always.

    Thanks in advance.

So, I called Microsoft and basically got told that, because I did a clean install on a separate disk that Windows was originally installed, they are unable to help me. I'll have to do a fresh install of Windows 8.1 on my SSD and then upgrade to Windows 10 from there.

He mentions this particular fact nowhere on their website that provides the media tool!

And the fact that the Dell rep, I spoke of na not know that particular nugget and asked me to do a clean install on the new disk did not help at all.

Now I have to wait for Dell to send me a CD of Windows 8 so that I can install on my SSD and update from there.

Beware if you are already on Windows 10 and planning to install it on a new drive!

  • 18 XPS does not start, the power light will not stop flashing

I was upgrade this computer to Windows 10, I did install one instead, but the children had spyware which even then showing upwards. I did a refresh, there no I did an installation and finally got in windows. Some updates installed and restarted.

The computer was bricked since. The only thing that happens is the LED which indicates the power above, the button will not stop flashing white light. Connected or not connected, after having held down the power button for 5, 10 and 30 seconds, the led stops flashing for a while and then again. I tried several points of sale. No idea if it is a coincidental breakdown.

I'll change that.  I went back in and re-removed the cable from the battery.  I also removed the CMOS battery cable this time... I was at least an error message on the screen and access to the BIOS!

  • HP Envy 14 HEADSET MICROPHONE DOES NOT WORK

Hi, I have a HP Envy 14-1111 nr laptop computer with Windows 7 and I always had problems with working microphones. I plug in my headphones and put plugs in the appropriate ports, including through taking Mic in port with a picture of a headset/microphone. I also put the audio plug on the correct port.

The audio still works fine I can hear things properly from the helmet. But the microphone NEVER WORKS. I made sure the microphone is on and I put the headset microphone as the default recording device, and made sure it's not muted and even tried like 3 different types of helmets, but it still does not work.

My computer recognizes my headset has a microphone when I plug it, because the independent headset appears on my recording devices. But any point the noise I into the microphone, my computer does not recognize him. Basically, it is saying that it cannot detect all the sounds of the mic.

It's incredibly frustrating because I spent money on different microphones, but now I think it's the fault of my computer. Is there something wrong with the microphone/headphone jack? What can I do to fix this?

    Thank you.

Solution: the HP Envy laptop is not a microphone jack, it has a "headphone" which is designed to work with smartphones.

In order to use a headset with microphone with this computer, you need a conversion cable so that you can convert your helmet at the exit of the smartphone. I just ordered it on amazon, it should be here soon.

Boring, but at least I think it is resolved.

I went to the Device Manager and there is no yellow triangles.

Audio device on the laptop troubled Manager are:
    1 device HD Audio
    2 device HD Audio
    Microsoft

Device Manager on MY sound inspiron:
    1 Bluetooth
    2 Intel display Audio
    3. Realtek HD Audio

I tried the Dell drivers to update, but it still does not work.
I have a driver disc and the utilities provided with the laptop.
Don't know if I can find the solution on disk

    Thanks for any help.

Hello. The list in Device Manager 2 computers if they are different, it is because your supplier (manufacturer) has drivers installed, but doesn't your husband - he uses native Windows (by default) drivers. To install drivers sellers use the disc that came with the laptop, or go to the Inspiron 17R 7110 html page to see links to all the drivers for Dell provided for this model. I mean all for different versions of Windows which takes in charge of Dell on this model, and the various versions of pilot, later and older.

Because you were watching from a blank hard disk, you must install these drivers in this order.

1 Dell System Software - find on the page html under the category: System utilities. It is available only if the laptop is running Win 7 32-bit or 64-bit.

2 Intel HM67 Chipset drivers, under the category: Chipset. Available for Vista, 7, or 8.

3 of card reader Realtek driver, under the category: Chipset. Available for Vista, 7, or 8.

    4. audio Realtek driver, under the category: Audio. After his laptop computer installation of your husband will show Realtek High Definition Audio Device in Device Manager.

5 Intel 3000 or Graphics 2000/3000 under the category: video. After his laptop computer installation of your husband will show Intel display Audio in Device Manager. Intel display Audio's HDMI audio driver when you connect to a TV with an hdmi cable.

    6. some laptops have a second graphic device that takes over from the Intel graphics card during graphics intensive games like situations. If computer laptop your husband has this feature, then get the driver nVidia too.

Most of the other devices will agree with it Windows native drivers for now, and you can install them later in an order any if you need.

    retiredluckycat
When I plug in headphones or external speakers, the sound continues to fate of the speakers of the laptop.

I don't know if installing drivers will fix this or not. The headset should work fine now with just the native Windows driver. Install the drivers and see what happens. If you need more information, mention the operating system and possibly the model of your laptop and its operating system.

  • XPS 8700 + Radeon 5770 does not

Just got a XPS 8700 and decided to put my gcard of my old system in because it is more powerful.  Radeon 5770, when I put it in I get nothing.  The monitor does not display anything.  I put back it in my old system, and everything works fine.  Is the 8700 XPS somehow simply not compatible with the card Radeon 5770?

Any suggestions on a map of decent price I want to consider?  If the XPS 8700 for some reason any cannot support any powerful graphics card I can just return.  Very strange that the card doesn't seem to work.

    Hi Kiito,

  • Windows 8.1 does not appear in the store Windows Dell XPS 8700

My desktop computer Dell XPS 8700 arrived yesterday, but I can't upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 of Windows. I went to several Microsoft Web sites where they say on a Windows update and I have to have before the upgrade is displayed in the Microsoft store. I checked I did all Windows updates available including
you need to upgrade to 8.1. I tried "wsreset.exe" running to clear the cache of Windows store. This is not a business system. It's a regular OEM Dell version of Windows 8 that came with the machine. No matter what I do the update does not appear in the Windows store. I thought maybe since I was using the same Microsoft account for my laptop I already upgraded 8 to 8.1 that maybe he thought I was already updated. So I created a new account of Microsoft, created a new user, delete the old user and tried to get the upgrade as a Microsoft account fresh and a user. Still no luck. I saw another person posting a message on a forum somewhere that had a similar problem on this exact model as the only answer that I was to go to the Microsoft page that tells you to do what I've done. Any suggestions or websites where I could crosspost this problem would be much appreciated.

I copied and pasted the steps below from another thread. The procedure worked for me both my 8700 s after that I had tried just about every other proposed solutions. I hope that the procedure will work for you too (assuming that you have not already tried).

    (1) uninstall KB2871389 and restart.

    (2) download the update of Microsoft KB2871389--> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40098

    (3) manually install the KB2871389 update and reboot.

    (4) you must now (I hope) see the 8.1 update in the Windows store.

  • XPS 8700 - new mSata does not start unless...

I had my 8700 for a little more than a year and from the beginning, I put a 256 gb 2.5 SSD and everything has been good... unfortunately I ran out of room so I'm a 512 GB mSata and installed with the normal hiccups (bios setting, etc.) and for the most part, it works fine... installed win7 - all my programs games, media and all that. Well, now that I have everything there I was trying to format the original 1 TB hdd which served the initial boot (later converted to my games drive) drive and it refuses to format 'windows cannot format the system disk partition' I went into the BIOS and noticed his 1st listed in the order of the boot sequence. OK... so I put the mSata as first on the boot sequence and people with other disabilities 2 boot sequence HARD drives... Unfortunately, after that it does not start, say no boot device available. I tried other settings and the only way I can get my OS to load is if I put it on AHCI - legacy - then set my empty 1 TB (manually remove games) under the 1st boot device and set my msata #2. I want to use the 1 TB in a different computer and I want all my available bays opened for larger storage players when I need... but most of all I want to solve it because he needs to solve... Someone has an idea what I am doing wrong? any help is appreciated.

    Specifications:

    XPS 8700

    I7-4770

    BIOS A10

    M550 crucial mSata

OS was initially earn 8.1... I upgraded to win 7 home

The boot sequence is dynamic, so it does not matter if change you it in the bios. Each listed item will be sought for the boot files according to what is currently installed. Because your startup files are not on the ssd, it will never start to this player. Windows must be installed on the ssd from scratch, so you lose everything and have to reinstall everything. If you have now works well, leave it alone and save yourself a lot of trouble. Startup files are still on the original drive.

  • My Dell XPS 15 audio Jack does not work.

Hello, my new Dell XPS 15 audio Jack does not work. I just got this thing out of the box.

I have updated the drivers and stuff, which doesn't seem to be the issue.

I tried several headphones as well, the helmet is not the issue.

I've isolated to this: when I plug in the headset, nothing happens. If I ask about 15-20 lbs of pressure, forcing the connector of headphones into the socket as hard as possible, the cell begins to recognize and the helmet works. As soon as I let go of the connector, the laptop will behave as if the device was disconnected.

    What should I do?

    What should I do?

Hello. Your options are to contact technical support to schedule a repair, or return it for a refund or Exchange if you are still in the short return period (twenty one days from the date on the invoice if you got from Dell).

  • Ports SATA 8700 XPS 2/3/4 not seeing not added Blu - Ray burners

I bought an XPS-8700 (16 GB of RAM / HD 2 TB) at Costco online and received on Friday.

Until it happens, I had ordered three items for this:

    Plextor PX-256M5M mSATA SSD

LG WH14NS40 Blu - Ray burner

    Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (not a fan o0f Windows 8)

I installed the SSD drive and it works fine.

I then installed the LG Blu - Ray into the slot ODD1 engraver and connected the cable to the SATA 2 port. After starting the system, I was a little surprised to not see Adding Blu - Ray burner.

I tried then reverse SATA cables will ODD0 and ODD1. Now, the LG Blu - Ray burner is there, but not the DVD recorder provided. I reversed the wires without modification in present readers think that the new SATA cable could be bad.

Then I tried to connect the added drive SATA 4 and SATA 3 with no luck.

From what I can tell, the new burner LG Blu - Ray and SATA cable are both fine in their work when it is connected to the SATA 1.

The DVD/CD burner, nor added Blu - Ray burners work on SATA 2 ports, 3 or 4.

I guess (and we all where that leads) that the second optical drive is supported as the two upper bays are labeled ODD0 and ODD1.

Any ideas as to what is needed to get the XPS-8700 to recognize a CURIOUS on 2-4 SATA ports?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ed

Even though I know that this Post goes back to August 2012, today's date is January 20, 2014... I thought that I would say because I have to bought a XPS8700 and he received just 3 days ago.

After installing a 2nd HDD internal who were executed in my Dell XPS420 (OS Win7)... when I first started my XPS8700 running Windows8... Windows has not seen the 2nd internal HARD drive.  I could see the 2nd HDD wooden (like this poster)... but not in Windows.  He did not appear in the 'Computer', the Manager of devices or disk management.

Read this Posters comment, I really thought I had a XPS8700 with a bad motherboard since the poster wrote the 2nd XPS8700, he got... its added reader has been detected by Windows... However, in my case... it was not the result.

I contacted Dell and arrangements were made to have a technology specialist call me.  I explained what I did to include moving the DVD installed Dell, which has been seen by Win8... from motherboard Port 1 to Port 2 (where I had connected the 2 internal)... and Windows does not see the DVD drive.  He confirmed that he would be the Port of the motherboard.  In settings Dell prior WOOD under Win7... you had to get into WOOD and turn on each SATA motherboard and OFF connections... I could not find in the WOOD of XPS8700.

The final document; the Dell specialist had me go back into the WOODS... had me click each tab in the WOODS... it was obvious that he was looking for a framework he hoped that should correct the problem.  Tab START of WOODS, he had me stressed "Secure Boot"... which was displayed as ACTIVE, click ENTER and change for disabled in the Popup window, use exit F10 WOOD and SAVE the settings.

XPS8700 seemed to take a long time to start for Win8... it just seemed slow, I thought that now things are really foires... I can't even start to Win8.  But when she took what seemed like forever, nothing better than just watching a blank screen, when it finally starts screen Win8 tiles and I opened the 2nd HHD 'Computer', I installed was displayed and I managed to get it... write to her...

From what I have studied the COURSE wood is set to "ENABLED"... and it blocks Ports to the motherboard, so that if another device is connected that has an operating system installed the PC will not see it.  If this is true, why wouldn't not Dell communicate this?  Better yet, how many users would connect another device with a BONE... why not the XPS8700 of ship with the SECURITY setting set to DISBALED?  How many people encounter this same problem said their mother was bad... and Dell paid to replace them, worse still, returned their XPS8700...?

I will add, it took a few reboots after that setting has been changed to DISABLED before my XPS8700 started upward and as quickly as he did before the change in closing...

A mere 3 second difficulty... to a very complicated problem... Hope this helps the other faced with this question

  • XPS 8700 hard drive not recognized

My new 8700 XPS desktop computer will not recognize additional hard drives that I am trying to install.  I know there have been several discussions on exactly this topic and tried unsuccessfully suggested changes (details below).  A few basics - my BIOS revision A07 (as dated 13/03/2014) and OS is W8.1.

Adding disk hard SATA cable is a small HDD (250 GB) that I used in my old computer for the holding of the backup files. He's definitely working.

I installed and then used work around this forum - go into the BIOS, change the Boot Mode safe "Custom" then change Secure Boot to "disabled ' then F10 to save and exit.  Device Manager displays the two hard drives, but the added disk does NOT appear in the Windows File Explorer. I tried several SATA connectors on the motherboard and try to put the 'Legacy' Boot, then returns to "UEFI" when the computer complains.

All to nothing does not.  Ideas and I don't want to live with a new computer that will let me add more readers!  Help!

Just has been disconnected from the Chat with Technical Support - problem seems to be resolved.  The 'new' drive was in the Device Manager and present as a "foreign" drive  Product support (PS) right click on the drive and did a "import as new disk" (or something like that) and... pow!  I got my drive appears.  More details later if anyone is interested.  Me - I'm going to get fresh coffee and enjoy my new computer for a bit.

  • My helmet is bright red, and the speakers does not work, when I try to adjust the volume when there is no headset/speakers in, there is a sign of the cross as the symbol of the volume where the places are supposed to be, macbook pro retina display

My helmet is for some time, as the eye of the terminator, glowing and speakers have not worked since. I need to plug headphones or external speakers. Whenever I try to adjust the volume when it shows just a cross symbol under the sign of the volume, where small squares usually are (see below)

Is there a way to fix this? Some other similar forums tell me to try to manually move a switch in the audio jack, but I can't seem to find such a change and the thing that seems most like a light switch, does not move.

    Can someone please help?

    Thank you

Your audio output is stuck in optical mode, this is the red light.

The solution is to try to insert and remove the plug a dozen times or more in the hopes of convincing making fall out of optical mode and in electric mode.

  • Why Dell does not 14 XPS and Inspiron 7000 14

Really, I bought months ago that my laptop but I couldn't decide if a 13-inch or 15-inch. For 5 years, I was used to 15 in laptop and I think it's the best size, and I am determined to keep this size.

If you think that 13 is very small, and I use glasses so I don't see in this minimalist form. On the other hand, 15 inches is a big brick! I need power and screen but not weight.

Does not have why Dell XPS 14 or 14 precision? It would be nice.
