Updated answer:

Try this:

The reason may be spyware or adware or... If it is unexpected, if not, there is a problem with a Microsoft program.

So try scan your pc using:

http://www.Malwarebytes.org/ very good Anti malware

http://www.SUPERAntiSpyware.com/ very good Anti Spyware (for scanning)

http://www.Safer-Networking.org/en/SpybotSD/index.html (for scanning)

Hitman Pro! http://www.SurfRight.nl/en

use for protection:

http://www.JavaCoolSoftware.com/SpywareBlaster.html (very good for protection)

Try using another antivirus that could do! Not sure! Avast (recommended)
or scan online like Trend Micro, we're pretty good!

I hope this helps!

  • Cannot load help and Support Windows as file registery HELPCTR. EXE is missing how restore?

Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/App Paths is missing HELPCTR. EXE.  Want to know how to reinstall HELPCTR. EXE.

    First see if it works:

The Center help and Support sometimes get broken with overzealous cleaning and there are a lot of things to 'try' who sometimes work and sometimes they are not. Sometimes people drop everything simply and never reuse Help and Support Center, but it can still be repaired.

Do you now or nave already used third-party applications on your system where the product description includes descriptive as sentences:

cleaner, mechanic, detective, doctor, heal, optimize, clean up, tune up, speed up, set towards the top, compact, compress, faster, power, boost, boost, gum, muncher. guaranteed or all that has an icon that looks like a key, the key or the screwdriver?

We will restore some things in the registry who sometimes kill himself by malicious software or, sometimes, these cleaning programs.

Before making any changes to your registry (although I hope that this update), make a copy of your registry with this free and popular tool:

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/ERUNT.html

Then go to this page WWW of Riou (thanks, Ramesh).

    http://WindowsXP.MVPs.org/startmenuhelp.htm

When you click the file startmenuhelp.reg on this page with your browser, you will see a bunch of text that
is the registry information that you want to apply to your system.  It seems daunting, but it's not so bad.

Press Ctrl + A to select all the text, then press Ctrl-C to copy the text to the Windows Clipboard.

Click Start, run, and then in the box, type:

    notebook

Click OK to open a new Notepad file.

Press Ctrl + V to paste the information that you copied into the Windows Clipboard in the Notepad file.  Save the new notebook
file on your desktop and the name of the new file something he can hold, as:

    startmenuhelp.reg

Quit Notepad and double click the file startmenuhelp.reg on your desktop and answer Yes to
the query about adding information to your registry.

Test your help and your support now, then restart and test again to make sure that the changes 'stick' with a reboot.

You can delete the file startmenuhelp.reg to your desktop.

If that does not do it, we just reinstalled the whole shebang (help) and Support.

Indeed, my use the online help to work before, but now it is not and I never change a parameter help and support) there is no problem with my internet connection.

    Hi Trulsbi,
What type of connection do you have?
You use a router? If you do, how do you connect? USB, ethernet or wireless?

This problem may occur if one or more of the following conditions are met:

    • There is a problem with the firmware for your base station.
    • IEEE 802. 1 X authentication is enabled.
    • Your adapter (USB) wireless universal serial bus problems that are related to the USB bus.
    • Your Internet is a DSL connection that uses a Point to support the Ethernet (PPPoE) authentication.

I know you don't actually lose your connection, but move to make changes to the settings recommended on the article and see if it helps. If it is not the case, change it back to the original settings.

  • Windows 7 "Help and Support" keeps popping up.

I tried all the things in the virus check to clean start windows 7 to recharge. The help and Support windows keeps popping up. Why can not simply disable the "helpane.exe"? I can't delete it as it is. To do this I'll have to get another computer.  I had to put it in my computer to work with the pop up window, I can't do anything else!

Well, I encountered this problem and I see a lot of people ask this question, but I understood what my question was, maybe this will help you if you are still having the problem or others have the problem.

The problem I had is that there is not exactly the impression that "Help and Support" said anything, but it was, he told me that he tried to open an unsupported help file (something that we install shows a help when your connection after a restart file).  So basically, if you use an older program that has files of help that are not supported by Windows 7 or Vista, it comes up with a general help and screen Support saying that he could not open the help file, but not telling me that you or give me an idea as using that file has problems.  I worked a little with our software and knew what help file was being pulled up, I have therefore been able to stop it, but I suggest to check the help files for your software to see which ones that might not work.

  • Errors in Windows 7 with Windows Help and Support, network connection, and the system restore

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 (4 years), sometimes overheated with heavy use. Normally I can cool, restart and wear. However, my laptop just overheated and closes, and this time I encounter all sorts of problems.
First of all, after the reboot, I noticed that the system does not automatically connected to my Wi - Fi (it does not even recognize the available network).
Secondly, in attempting to fix the network problem, I clicked on the link "Troubleshooting", only to receive the following error message "an unexpected error has occurred. ID of Package cannot continue the Troubleshooting Wizard": unknown path: C:\Windows\diagnostics\system\networking error Code: 0x8007045A

Third, because troubleshooting did not work, I thought I'd try the help and Support Windows to search for answers. However, when I opened it, I received the following message: "Windows Help and support has encountered a problem. You might be able to solve the problem by restarting Windows Help and Support. If the problem persists, proceed as follows: 1. search the online help on the Windows website.  2. contact your manufacturer of computers or Microsoft Support for assistance. There could be a problem with one or more Windows system files or folders on your computer. "Because I could not connect to the internet, these suggestions and links were useless.

Fourthly, as I failed to locate the problem, I tried a system restore. However, after he appeared to run (took about 30 min) and restarted Windows, the following message appeared: "system restore was not entirely successful. The system files and settings on your computer did not change. Details: System Restore could not access a file. This is probably because an antivirus program is running on the computer. Temporarily disable your antivirus and restart System Restore. An unspecified error occurred during system restore. (0x80070005)
You can try the system restore again and choose a different restore point. If you continue to see this error, you can try an advanced recovery method. For more information, see what is recovery? "I have disable my antivirus (AVG), tried and received the same error message.

Short physically all my backup files and restore to factory settings, I think I've exhausted what I can do.

    * EDIT * after scouring the site, I found a suggestion to run the tool via the command prompt System File Checker (see thread here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/no-internet-connection-on-this-computer-after/83fb22c9-712e-467d-9a68-f8d52dde9bcb), which I did and found some corrupted files. The following response appears: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and repaired successfully details can be found in the CBS.log newspaper... File system changes will take effect after the next reboot. "After restarting, the internet connection problem seems to have been resolved. Service work. and Windows Help and Support also works! I hope it helps someone else!

    Hi Lorenacadi,

Thanks for sharing of the resolution. Your efforts and patience are highly appreciated.

In addition to the emission of heat:

Two things inside the laptop generate heat - power (in the place where the power cord plugged in) and the processor.  The CPU has a heater and a fan to help disperse the heat and keep the CPU at a reasonable temperature.  Hot air is sent on the vents, and air at room temperature between in other events.
What happens generally is dust forms near the vents, near the Airways within the laptop computer which lead to the mouths and on the CPU fan itself.  All these sources of dust cause airflow slow down, so that the hot air lingers and gets even hotter.  To resolve this problem, you will need to take the laptop apart and 'very good' to clean the dust and the CPU fan.

Another potential source of heat which would be composed of dust problem might be software related.  More 'work' the CPU must do the most energy is needed and therefore more heat is released.

Keep us in case you have questions/suggestions more associated with Windows.
