  Indeed, these IPD files are backups of your BB and are available as a source of food (they are a proprietary format and cannot be used for any other purpose, except by a few 3rd party applications that have been written to analyse). Choose the most recent one (the one with the most recent date and time, as displayed in the File Manager Windows) using this procedure:

  If it is compatible, provided by RIM device switch Wizard will accomplish the task. You can read about it here:

  If this isn't the case, then you must use whatever your other device provides and export the data to a CSV file. Then, you can use the RIM software to import in the BB:

  Okay, so they told me to go to microsoft and download a version of outlook.  (Why I don't think this earlier...)  Worked like a charm.

  You use this account gmail on PRIV? If so, check if the contacts are synchronized:

  Go to settings

  Scroll accounts

  Tap on Google

  Tap on the gmail account that has your contacts

  Now check if the switch to IT.

  If you have not added gmail account that has your contacts, then proceed as follows:

  Go to settings

  Scroll accounts

  Tap Add an account

  Select google

  Follow the instructions... and your contacts will automatically be there.

  You have the sync wireless enabled for contacts?  Try to uncheck that then tries to synchronize the backup.

  I am trying to transfer all my contacts from an old torch 9800 to a new torch 9800, but only some of the contacts are copied. I tried to backup-restore through office etc. software but is not to copy the complete list. Tried to do to AT & T store but who just duplicated 425 contacts I have all ready.  After I manually removed all duplicates... Tried again without success.  ???

  Hmmm... have you attached the switch device Wizard in the BlackBerry Desktop Software?

  If so, I suggest you install BlackBerry Protect on the old device, backup on WiFi.

  When you get the new device upward and the race, install BBProtect on it and restore it from the backup more air.

  To turn off sync wireless in the address book simply to go into the address book, click the menu button, click Options. Then go down in the 'Lists of Contact' section and click on the name of the address book. In the next screen, you can uncheck or set the wireless synchronization. Then try to sync with the Desktop Manager. Subsequently re - turn on the wireless sync to keep the address book wireless sync.

  I backed up my old phone to my computer and now I want to take the list of contacts of the original backup (I don't have a list of contacts on my phone more) and save outlook or my new camera. My new camera doesn't let me do in advanced backup, each time I try, it appears as an option shaded on unclickable.

  Hello

  You will probably have to get a PAID 3rd party player. Backup files (*.) IPD) are designed only to backup/restore of a BB... not for the transfer of the data anywhere else. But some 3rd party applications have broken through them and figured out how to extract the data. I suggest that you search (your favorite search engine) readers of IPD file and then select one to do what you want. But... I also suggest that you protect that IPD file... you never know what might happen to her with some 3rd party app.

• HELP blackBerry Smartphones: Contacts in case of failure to show in a letter - watch 'NO ADDRESS FOUND.

  I'm helping a friend.  She has a Blackberry Curve 8300 with AT & T.  His work email is synchronized via the web AT & T Blackberry Page, http://www.att.com/blackberry .  There is no customer of the business running on the server.  All e-mails are synchronized via a webmail server.

  Normally, you can go to contacts and enter a letter, contacts jump to that letter.  When you enter more letters, it starts to narrow the results, allowing you to quickly find a contact with just 3 or 4 letters.

  In this case, even if there are 1129 address entries in the directory, when you enter the, for example, to search for contacts beginning with the letter L, it shows NO ADDRESS FOUND.  I scrolled the list (which took forever) and found that in fact, there a lot of contacts that began with the letter L - at least 20-30.  Currently, contacts are displayed by name, and I tried to put into service at the last name and company with the same results.

  There was a similar to this post, but he exercises his activities in an atmosphere of business - it's not.  Any ideas on how to solve this problem?  The phone just started doing this and as you can imagine, takes a very long time to scroll through the contacts of 1129 to find one, you are looking for.  Use of category helps, but still, 1129 contacts in about 6 categories... always means lots of scrolling!

  Whenever random strange behaviors creep, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  If you don't know where is the backup file, search your entire hard drive for a file with an extension of the RPI (*.ipd). Inspect the results - mainly date/time of the file. Select the candidate most likely and use it as a source in the above procedure.
