Help BlackBerry Smartphones with my Bold 9700, please read.

Hey guys,.

IM new to BB and just fixed my aunts blackberry 9700 and I was told I can keep it. I really feel like OS6 but Desktop Manager will not update me. I followed the steps of youtube and nothing works.

I've been in the update tab and found the update, but there is a star next to him, and when I click it, it says that it is only for users of blackberry services or something in that sense. I really want the official OS 6 and can't live without it. If you know how I can do this easily if you please comment, thank you very much.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Since a certain time (starting at 5.x OS if I remember), updates demanded that you subscribe to a package of adequate data from your provider. Without that, he is denied access to updates. Think of the updates as another service... without subscribe (and pay), you are not getting services.

Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones with new "BOLD" - desperate Please HELP restore historical Email with BES

    Hi all

This is my first post. I'd appreciate any help that anyone can provide. I use a BB 8800 GSM for 2 years and was just delivered a new BB Bold 9000 GSM. I use it mainly to work with our email of the company, as well as for the address book and shared agendas. My company uses Exchange 2003 and Blackberry Enterprise Server, which I can only guess is 4.0 or 4.1. I am

As I said, I use the BB for work and like having my available historical email because I often need to find old emails when not in the office. I saved the 8800 using the SW Desktop Manager v4.6. I also did a switching device using the DM software, while both devices were connected to my laptop via USB. He successfully restored data on the "BOLD". However on the "BOLD" I can't send or receive e-mails with my work email. I can make calls, send text, browse the web, send email from my Yahoo account which is also configured with the BB.

I also connected to Blackberry Internet service page and updated my device on the wireless network and updated the maintenance book. This helped my account Yahoo work on the BB. However, I am still without corporate e-mail.

My question is do I have my BES administrator to make a change on the BES? He needs to make an enterprise activation? If Yes is there a way to make the EA and always keep my historical data via Desktop Manager backup & restore process?

If the BES administrator needs to do an environmental assessment can anyone provide detailed instructions so that I can help him or tell him in the right direction? He believes he needs to delete my account and create a new one. I was told it may need only to update or change the PIN associated with my profile.

Any help or input would be appreciated especially experiences BES administrators. If you need more information or have any questions please fire away.

    Thanks in advance!

You connect the BlackBerry to your work PC when you have used the device switch Wizard? If so you are invited to implement using PIN code (in bold) of the new device, and then generate a new encryption key? If yes then which should have completed the activation process to activate the "BOLD".

If this does not happen your IT Department can issue you a new password to activate. After they do that you just have to go into Options | Advanced options | Enterprise activation and enter your corporate email address and the password, they give you, click your menu button, then choose activate. This will activate the "BOLD" to receive your business data.

  • Smartphones with new Bold 9700 blackBerry Email issue

    Hello world

I just got a new BB Bold 9700 from my boss and I know now my life is over, how ever live without one. Totally awesome.

But I have a problem that I hope someone may be able to help with.

On my PC in a network, I put in place of the rules in MS Outlook so that the emails that I get different departments automatically in folders that I'v created in my Inbox.  I think it's only incoming emails that do not have a rule for the sender or are simply non-stressed, are received on the BlackBerry.

    Any ideas or solutions?

    Hi BillJ

Thanks for the tips, not quite there, but you put me on the right track and with a bit of luck, I am now running sweet. Kudos to you mate, I appreciate the help. To someone else how can find ourselves in a similar position, try this:

On the home page you select Message - Menu - Options - e-mail settings - send Email for handheld - Menu - folder Redirection

(at this point, the display will show your compressed folder tree, expand the folder tree to view all the folders in your Inbox, select each specific folder for which you have a redirect in place or any rule simply 'select all')

Now select Menu - Change Option (if you select each folder one at a time the change Option - Menu - repeat for each file)

    Complete with Menu - RECORD

    And your sweet.

  • Old blackBerry Smartphones mails on Bold 9700

    Hello!

I have a BB Bold 9700 and I tried to set up my email to read on the mobile. I have a problem: I can only read the mails that come after December 2010 (when I have the top of my BB). I can't read my emails before December because they are not on the mobile application... Is this normal? I must go on the internet and on the Gmail page to access my old mails...

I'm sorry for my bad English I'm french!

Good day. Thank you in advance for your invaluable help.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

What you describe is exactly as expected. BB is designed to bring only new emails from the point of activation. Old emails are not translated to the BB because it does not truly replicate your Inbox. Therefore, it is WAD - works as expected.

    Good luck!

  • "New to me" blackBerry smartphones unlocked BB bold 9700 no option of internet email configuration

I just bought refurbished BB bold 9700.  I use Speakout prepaid service and have no data, but I want to configure my yahoo email using wifi.  However, there is no option for the Internet e-mail account in the Setup menu.  Since the menu implementation, when I click on email accounts it automatically goes to the company setting up accounts and nothing else.  When I go to the tips section it says this, 'If you see not this option contact your administrator or your wireless service provider.  Any thoughts?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Legacy of BB devices can't do email (or any other exclusive function of BB) via WiFi only. Even if used via WiFi, adequate data of a carrier plan must be a subscriber to the to enable these functions. You must subscribe to a data plan that allows the BIS to have functions of e-mail, even if you do not want to use it over WiFi.

A more recent device of BB10 has not, on the other hand, this requirement... BB10 devices can do all the functions via WiFi, without any carrier data plan. But your legacy device does not have this capability.

    Good luck!

  • Question of blackBerry Smartphones with GPS in 9700 after the OS 6 upgrade

I just upgraded my os in Bold 9700 OS 6. After the update the GPS in the phone is idle and there is no way I can activate it.

From your home screen, go to Options > device > device and state information.  Type the word 'test' without the quotes.  There is no field in which to enter and nothing is displayed on your screen.  Just type in it.  Click OK to start the test, press the menu key and select start.  Then decide if you want to be guided by the test.  On the next screen, check the box next to GPS and click run at the bottom.  Go outside and do the test and let us know what happens.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones with Blackberry-contacting

    Hello

I hope someone can help me.  Curve daughter 9300 has been gel market for a few months, but now is causing major problems.  The only way to fix this is to take out the battery for a while.

As the phone was less than a year, I brought back to the store where you bought it, he was sent away and took 2 weeks to return.  They initially said that there was no fault with the phone but said then it was not actually watched as the envelope had been changed.  My daughter has managed to break the original envelope, so it has been replaced by exactly the same black case.  They refuse to do anything despite the phone may not be fit for purpose IE does not properly.

Hello and welcome to the community!

To answer your specific question... RIM offers zero first line support to end-users, including warranty... all support starts with the carriers, resellers and authorized service centers, all who can degenerate case RIM free of charge for the end user. Contractually, you have no free path to work around the shop, you work with and try any official escalation rim... as your warranty service provider, they have the responsibility to repair your security under its contract terms. I suspect that, when you read your real contract, you'll find that they are indeed correct in their assessment.

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the original question, since you are not through the contract, you signed at the time of purchase. If you want to study, you can check it out here:

It is also perhaps a few good reading here:

But, overall, from your description, I don't hold much hope... If you have cancelled your warranty in effect, it is about the end of it.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones using my Bold 9700 in Bangladesh

Hey all. I'm writing this question here cause I remember someone asking a similar question. But unfortunately impossible to locate the post

I'm moving to Bangladesh and wish to benefit from all the features of my "BOLD", I have to the United Kingdom. I already had my phone unlocked to be used on any network. Tells me that the largest supplier in Bangladesh is a Department of Telenor called GP. I have been in contact with GP customer service. They assure me if I subscribe to the "unlimited internet" for data and a monthly post pay / pay for voice calls, I'll be able to use all the services of my BB.

I was wondering if someone could tell me how accurate is in fact? I suspect that I am not sure if BRI would actually work only with an internet package unlimited or not.

The next question is about 3 G services. GP is not a 3G network and so the 3G of the bold features wouldn't work. In fact, I don't know what are these 3G capabilities? Anyone could shed some light in this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Best regards

    Ashraf

GrameenPhone offers BlackBerry services in sees (one of the regular users on the CIHI for Grameenphone works).  If you have an unlimited BlackBerry data plan, you will have access to the BIS network.  As for your question, about 3 G, 3 G only refer to data speeds.  So if you're in a 3G area, you will connect at a speed of 3G, but if you aren't, then you connect using EDGE.  This gives you all the data, but it's just a little slower than 3G.

    I hope this helps.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones with the upgrade of OS 9360 BB

Hello all, this "my first post here, so I don't know if this is the appropriate place for this post, but I would like help on my Curve 9360.

Recently I acquired a need for Japanese input in my Blackberry and made surfing around the net, including this forum for help.

Later, I downloaded OS for installation, first try 7.0.0.400/jAllLang of WIND Mobile and the second attempt of OS 7.0.0.319 - BlackBerry Handheld Software v7.0.0.1555 (all languages - jAllLang under the recommendation of support forums

After you follow the steps to "recharge" my OS from "How to reload your OS" thread also said forums that included backup phone, using the BB Desktop Manager and Loader.exe, my phone should still offer the possibility of Japanese input.

Currently, the software version is 7.0 Bundle 1555 or if the Desktop Manager and my phone shows.

Note that my knowledge and my issue with this camera is nowhere near competent, so I could probably have messed up somewhere or my technological illiteracy probably mistook me versions of OS and steps.

Really appreciate any help regarding this, or if any alternative means to get the language. You need to get the Japanese input on the phone as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello! Welcome to the forums.

Thank you for your question on the addition of Japanese input on your BlackBerry.

I would like to ask if, the operating system you have downloaded your carrier or a different carrier/country? If not, did you deleted the vendor.xml file?

If so, I suggest to reconnect your phone on a PC and open the Desktop Manager, click application (it can take moments of loading). There you can see languages and different applications. If there are Japanese it click the small + button next to it and install it.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones! Death "BOLD"

I just got my hands on a "BOLD", but he died before even to place a call or sync'ing with Desktop Manager.

"BOLD" will not even try to start. I removed the SIM card and the battery and then reinstalled the battery. Still no start.

If I plug it into the USB port on my laptop, Windows identifies the device like a Blackberry and the red light on the camera flashes, but I can't seem to wake him up.

After you have reinstalled the software for the third or fourth time, he seems to have completed. BlackBerry is upward. I must say, it wasn't a very good first-time-user experience.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones with the transfer of contact list

So, here's my problem, I had a Pearl 8130 and beat the trackball on it so it is no longer functional.  I just got my curve in the mail today, and I want to spend all my contacts from my Pearl to my curve.  Whenever I plugged my phone into my computer, I hit "backup".  So, my question is, how I make out of my Pearl?  If they are stored on my computer, which is the file in which they are stored?  I can't seem to find anything anywhere, and there is no my phone contacts in Outlook.  Is there another way to get them off my Pearl that won't require me using my trackball (he has literally disappeared).  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Open Desktop Manager > switch Device Wizard. First plug in your old Pearl and follow the instructions you see pass all your data, contacts, etc., from one device to the other. You will have no need of the trackball works for this... just have the Pearl charged and put on the market.

If you want to restore the previous backup, use C: > backup > restore. You may need to open the file > open and navigate to where you saved the most recent backup file (ending in *.ipd).

    Good luck.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones with OS 5.0 upgrade after decommissioning

I recently installed a new version of the OS 5.0 (.822 I think). However, there are many bugs and I had to downgrade (I used J_CMDER to wipe). Now back to the current version which came with the phone (4.6) and for the life of me I can't upgrade to a more stable version of 5.0 (the 681 I got running). I checked in the folder of the RIM and remove the document from the seller again anything will do. Any ideas on why this is happening? And yes I wiped my device with JL CMDER before and managed to downgrade without any problem, but this time everything is messed up. Thanks for help in advance.

Something weird I noticed that... I had two vendor.xml file in the apploader a hidden folder and the other is not. I deleted both of them. Was it a mistake?

Search for all of your PC for any instance of the vendor.xml file. Remove them all.

Close the Desktop Manager and ensure that it is NOT executed.

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones with BB Bold ring Volume

I already have through of profile settings and the 'high' value, but the volume is still very low. I am also having a similar with the speaker volume problem (even if the scale of volume using the side key is at its maximum).

Are there any other ways I can increase the volume?

Is there is a difference between the volume on your and colleagues, then it suggests a problem with your phone. Maybe try to reset by removing the battery for 30 seconds. Your question a bit sounds like a hardware problem, but reset can not hurt so much worse.

    Good luck.

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... ( Please wait for this before moving on to the next step) :

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS configuration for these accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.
