Help for my new E2500 router port forwarding

My hosting web home used to work. But due to new ISP from Verizon to TWC, TWC gave me a modem-router and I bought my own router Linksys E2500. Verizon and services of TWC, that I subscribed are dynamic IP address. I use a third party to redirect web traffic to my house.

TWC gave me a simple modem-router in one box. An entry is coaxial and outputs are 4 ethernet ports. I use one of the 4 outputs of the TWC ethernet box to connect to the internet the E2500 input ethernet port. All my sons and wireless devices are now feeding the E2500. All wireless and wireline devices works and can surf the internet through the E2500.

I have assigned to one computer as the web server and the internal IP Address of this computer as 192.168.1.128 addess. The same goes for the installer with Verizon before.

I loaded him comes from CD with the router E2500 and see the LAN 192.168.1.128.

My problem starts from there, I do not know how to set the port in E2500 192.168.1.128 to web traffic

1. using the CD E2500, I click on 'APPLICATION AND GAMES', then 'SIMPLE PORT FORWARDING'. under the NAME of the APPLICATION, I select one box for HTTP and type in 128 under "IP ADDRESS". I then click on ACTIVE, then 'save settings '. The 192.168.1 is set in this window, I can type only 128.

It does not work. I can browse the internet, but can not access my site of all machines using domain name.

Then I tried:

2 to point 1 above, I continued to Setup > BASIC SETUP > DHCP RESEVERSATION. I can see the name of calculation/sever and the 192.168.1.128. Then, I click on the "select" and save the customer.

I rebooted the computer/server, I disconnect and reconnect power E2500. I check the internal IP address of the server, and it's always the same. But I can't just browse my site. I can browse other places.

No idea what's wrong on my fault? Help, please.

Your modem is a router. All incoming internet requests end up on the modem/router. You must configure the port forwarding on the modem/router first before the E2500 will see nothing incoming from the internet.

Alternatives:

1. turn the modem/router mode 'bridge', which turns into a simple modem. You can connect directly to the internet with your E2500.

2. place the E2500 as simple access point and keep the modem/router as your main and single router. Then any transmission is made on the modem/router.

  • Time for a new wireless router? Security no longer works

My router has acted lately.  I did the Web page and two manual reset / original restore.

I works very well without any security.  When I reset the password name & network security everything seemed normal.

It now displays the new network name but should not be the new password, it appears immediately as "invalid security phrase.

On the router to the wireless security, I have selected WEP, 128-bit, 26 hexagonal etc., entered my password, press on generate and then 'save settings '.

Everything seems fine, but it does not accept the new password.  Again, this works fine without warranty, but I can't run like that.

  • BlackBerry smartphone WiFi help for a new user

    Hello

I'm all new to Blackberry and have had the beautiful curve for 3 days (it is always brilliant)!

I managed to synchronize with the desktop computer, to connect to my car for handfree Bluetooth, but I can't connect to my router wireless BT Home Hub for some reason any.

I followed the instructions and the phone displays the connection and says it is connected but does not work.  If I go on manage connections, it shows the connection (I called him 'home') with a nice green icon showing the phone can see wifi but there is a black box in front of it with a dash of white.

    Anyone got any ideas?

I'm not via enterprise server yet (need to upgrade to Lotus notes apparently).  I phoned also support technique of Vodafone that says I need a subscription to use wifi which, when I questioned our vodafone business account manager he said was silly.  But still no wifi.

There is also a wifi logo top right of my screen which shows is gray and black, that mean anything?

    Thanks much for any help.

  • I want to get the best on my router (Port Forward questions)

I use the WRT54G2 router and the wmp54G. I'm trying to get games like America's army and Team Fortress 2 to work properly. I've assigned my static Ip pc using the guide portforward. I forwarded the necessary ports.

I can't connect to my account on the U.S. military, and I can not connect to servers on Team Fortress 2. I tried to disable my anti-virus and firewall but still no luck. I'm doing it on the pc with the wireless connection.

    Any suggestions?

I also have another question: when transmitting ports or using DMZ, what IP address I send? The pc connected directly to the router or the pc which is using ports (one wireless)?

    BTW, MY ISP is Comcast

In most cases, you can use the DNS proxy server that is built into the router at 192.168.1.1 (address by default), but in your case would be in 192.168.2.1

It is preferable to use the DNS proxy server.  The router keeps track of the actual Internet DNS server addresses from your ISP and transfers data to the appropriate DNS server.

If the DNS server of the router proxy does not work, then enter your true Internet DNS server address in your computer.

In addition, I see that you use the et.102 adresses.101 in your computers.  Your range of DHCP servers by default est.100 thru.149, so unless you have changed it, you use illegal LAN IP fixed addresses in your computer.  This could be the cause of your problems.  Note that all fixed LAN IP addresses should be outside your range of DHCP server.

Hello to all the experts in BB,

    I'm new to BB and I have a few general questions - I have the Pearl 8900 w / T-Mobile - I'm sure someone can answer:

-Where will the messages when I delete them? There is a deleted file?

-When I sync, is anyway to do it faster? I checked under the configuration, the "Elements only future Sync" but synchronize them, every time he goes through my contacts and calendar all over - it takes way longer than what I'm use to - I had T Mobile Wing and would use Microsoft Active Sync and who took seconds to find and update the items.

    Thank you very much!!!

Nope, no file deleted on the device. There might be on your mail server, but once deleted, deleted the device is erased.

You can disable the calendar or tasks you want to synchronize, for example if you never your tasks and memos, disable this feature in the configuration of the synchronization.

I can tell you this, Desktop Manager version 5.0, which has not been released yet, it's MUCH faster. Zip, done.

Be patient, I don't know when it comes out, but it will be someday.

  • Cannot connect remotely via VPN since installing the new modem/router

Can anyone help please. Since the acquisition of a new router / modem I can no longer connect via VPN to my work PC remotely. It comes in I receive the error message. Can someone tell me if I need to change the settings for the new modem / router to access?

    Hello Joanna,

Here are the steps you need to do first:

    1. Off static IP for my server and let the router assign IP address and changed the IP address of the port forward.
    2. Check the IP address because obviously, that changed when you plugged into the router again.
    3. Updated to the latest firmware for the router and NIC.

For more detailed troubleshooting you can refer to this link: troubleshooting common VPN related errors.

  • RVS4000 Port forwarding

I have a RVS4000 put in place as my internet router/gateway to a client of 75 MS Server 2003 network. All network devices receive a static IP address. I used Port Forwarding and Port Range Forwarding on the RVS4000 to allow remote desktop connection to outside network to specific clients within the network. I have used all available space on the RVS4000 software for the seizure of the Port addresses and still needed to connect multiple users more. I bought a second RVS4000 and connected to the first through one of the lan ports, then the network through another lan port.  I have forwarded a range of addresses of the first router to another and then used the second router port forwarding and port forwarding tables range to the IP addresses of each client. Everything seems to be set up correctly and I can access both routers on the network, the individual port forwarding and the addresses of forwarding port on the first router range still work, but the transmitted address range appear not to be through to the second router and then to the customers. What I am doing wrong?

I think the WRVS4400N has an IP based ACL that you can do to open the ports of the PC. It has a capacity of 1 G more but I don't know if the ACL can handle 25-50 PCs. I suggest you try to contact CISCO technical support so that you can be well informed of the router you need to make it work.

  • Need help with the port forwarding for a XBox remote Streaming

I came across this set of instructions for setting up stream port forwarding XBox remotely from anywhere

I have no idea when it comes to such things and I want to make sure I do it correctly without messing up my existing home network.

Port Forwarding and triggering Port pages setup look very different from what the guy uses. Can someone walk me through what I do to set up please?

    Hi @varxtis,

You must enter them in the field for a start external Port and external completion Port. You will need to send individually except for the range of 49000-65000. The steps are as follows.

    1. create a Service name (it could be something else that you cannot use the same service name twice. Ex. XBOX1, XBOX2 and so forth.)

    2. Select the type of service (TCP, UDP or both)

3 entry 5050 times a start external Port and external endpoints.

    4. Select the IP address of your XBOX.

    5. Select apply.

6 do the same for other port numbers. To the beach, use 49000 for the external departure Port and for the external completion Port 65000.

    Kind regards

  • Port forwarding for the suddenly closed Linksys router

I have a 54G wireless router... correctly port forwarded a request of a CPU (server)... but after no connection made by the user on the server... it suddenly close the application... so what I did is to reboot the router in order to refresh the connection...

Are there other ways to fix this sudden closure of ports?  so that I would more restarts on my router

I appreciate a lot of help...

As directed by your statement the port that you have passed on the closed router without any connection to the server is unusual. Please make sure that you have configured an IP address static (outside the range of the router DHCP) on your server and put the same IP address for the specific port port forwarding tab.

In addition, reduce the MTU size on the router to 1400. See the link below on how to make the changes in the MTU size.

  • Router not configured for port forwarding

I use a modem wireless to my ISP, they block all ports less than 1024 and I need to forward ports 80 & 440

    How can I solve this?

If you configure your router for a LenovoEMC Personal Cloud and always see the message, "Not configured router for port forwarding" under personal cloud Configuration, one or more of the following ports are probably blocked by your internet provider (ISP): 80, 443or port selected in the range 50500-50599 .

Port 80 is used for internet access (HTML UN-secure) in general. If this port is blocked, but the ports 443 and 50500 are open, the Personal Cloud will work correctly even if the error message appears.

Port 443 is used for remote access on the host network storage device. If this port is blocked, but the port selected in the range 50500 is open, you will be able to use the Personal Cloud LenovoEMC and invite others to use it, but you will not be able to access your network storage device via the Internet URL. (See answer ID 30773 for more information on access remotely through Personal Cloud LenovoEMC.)

A port in the range of 50500-50599 must be routed through the router to use the function LenovoEMC Personal Cloud. If this port is blocked by your ISP, you will not be able to access the Personal Cloud to your network storage device or invite others to join the Personal Cloud. (For more information, see answer ID 29070 .)

  • Setting up Port Forwarding on router WRT54G, working with a WVC54GCA Wireless CAmers

I have the equipment in question and you need to know a few things when it come to put in place for Internet access. Before I aske the question, however, I have the following IP addresses associated with this project: WVC54GCA - 192.168.2.102, router WRT54G - 192.168.2.1, the questions are:

    1. How do you define Port Forwarding on every element.
    2. Should the two articles have static IP addresses.
    3. Once the port forwarding is set, what is the structure of the URL to access the camera?

Any help would be appreciated, summer tear my hair on it. Seems simple, but obviously not. I'm missing something.

    Thank you

For port forwarding, you will first need to set the camera to a fixed LAN IP address (static).

If your router uses the range of 192.168.2.100 thanks 192.168.2.149 DHCP servers, then 192.168.2.102 is an unauthorised fixed address.  With the Linksys routers, any fixed LAN IP address must be outside the range of the DHCP server.

Here are the rules of use of the fixed LAN IP addresses with Linksys routers.  (Note: these rules were written for the 192.168.1.x subnet.)  Since you're using the 192.168.2.x subnet, change all addresses accordingly):

With Linksys, routers, a fixed (static) IP LAN addresses must be assigned in the device that uses the address. If you need to enter the fixed address to the computer, printer or camera, not in the router.

When you use a Linksys router, any fixed LAN IP address must be outside the DHCP server rank (typically 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149), and may not end with 0, 1 and 255.

That's why any fixed LAN IP address would normally be of the order of
    192.168.1.2 thru 192.168.1.99 or
    192.168.1.150 thru 192.168.1.254
assuming that you always use the default DHCP server line.

In addition, in the computer, when you configure a static LAN IP address, you need to set the "Subnet mask" 255.255.255.0 and the 'default gateway' on 192.168.1.1 and "DNS server" to 192.168.1.1.  Note that some network devices can not use server proxy DNS at 192.168.1.1.  In this case, the value "DNS server" your real address of Internet DNS server (found in the router when connected to the Internet).

It is also important that the same value static LAN IP address no two devices on your network.

    **********************

After you gave your camera at a fixed LAN IP address, then go in "Port Redirection" in the router and configuring the ports one (or more) to the address LAN IP fixed camera.

In order to access your camera from the Internet, you will need to either:

    (1) get a fixed Internet IP address (static) address from your ISP and configure your router to use this address, or

    (2) use a free service such as DDNS.  DDNS allows you to use a dynamic Internet IP address, but can connect you by using the same URL.

    I hope this helps.

  • Problems with static IP setting for the port forward through 2 routers

I currently have cable internet connected to a router (Linksys E2000 w / v1.0.03 firmware). This router is connected to another router, a Linksys E3200 with firmware v1.0.02. In order to correctly forward ports through the E3200, I understand that I need to set up a static IP address on the router.

I almost followed the steps in this video, but when I enter all the IP addresses for the static IP address settings, it allows me to access the router configuration page. I try to get the new IP address that I gave (which he tries to move automatically once I have save settings) and the connection times out. I am able to access internet otherwise, however. From here, I have to do a factory reset on the router and start from square one.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm quite frustrated and would like to get ports forwarded so I can get my server properly set in place.

    1. If it has connected LAN - LAN you will need to disable the DHCP server on the E3200.

    2. the best option would be to use the 'bridge' on the E3200 mode (in the latest firmware) and connect the internet port to the main router.

    3. If connected LAN - LAN (or in Bridge mode) all internet related functions on the E3200, including ports are not relevant. There is no need to set up the port on the E3200 redirects. All shipping is done only on the E2000 and nowhere else.

    4. What is the address LAN IP of the E3200? What is the address LAN IP of the E2000?
