  Thank you read interesting - on certain images (not all), they seem much clearer when you zoom right that makes me think is no pixelation. • Please help, Lightroom Catalog recovery methods.

  -Macbook Pro

  -Lightroom 5

  A week ago my Mac operating system crashed. I was able to recover data from my hard drive, including saved the 5 Lightroom catalog files. However, when I try to "import an another catalog" on the file menu of Lightroom, I get an error that says: "Lightroom cannot import of this catalogue the catalogue does not seem to be a valid Lightroom Catalog." The catalog has 346 MB of data, so I know there is data on the .lrcat file, but Lightroom does not allow me to open it. This is also the case when I try to import files from a previous backup .lrcat file that has only 96 MB. I set the admin, user, staff and all the privileges in reading & Wright, but I still cannot access any data in Lightroom. The .lrcat file is the only file in the backup folder. This is the case for each previous backup file and the Lightroom folder in the backup drive (I put these files for read & Wright so privileges).

  Can someone please help me or give advice as to where I can find a service that will help me to get these settings to photo editing? I lost more than 7000 + pictures I need for work (I am a professional photographer).

  Apart from allowing authorizations and re - install an older version of Lightroom, I don't know what else to try.

  If anyone has had this problem before / is there a Lightroom Catalog recovery service who can help me?

  Yes, the same thought as before.

  I don't think there is a way to make this catalog work.

  Furthermore, copies made after a crash are not what I call backups. You need to make regular and automated backups of your files and catalog using the built-in functionality of Lightroom, you also want to check the box that says "Test integrity before Backing Up.

• Need help Lightroom Catalog

  My boss recently shot a lot of photos in Europe for a customer. There are about 20 folders full of images. She went through the first 10 files in Lightroom, and made the choice to those she wanted me to work using the ranking system '5 star '... Then she had to go to California and took the 10 remaining files with it on a separate hard drive to make its choice in these matters, and she'll send me this hard drive... So, my question is, in order to get his selections does the disk external hard in the same catalog LR, I did already in the office, it would be preferable to send the LR catalog file, and for his work on the same, even if she won't have to the first half of the images with it? Would this work again? - Or it would work better if she did a new catalog, and that I would then be able to merge the two when I get the drive? Thanks in advance for any help!

  That's right, you'll be able to see the changes made to the catalog once you merge the catalog.

• HELP - HELP - LightRoom 6 CC does not start

  Adobe LightRoom CC will not start.

  I followed this recipy: Lightroom does not launch or closes automatically after the splash screen

  But it does not work.

  Is there a process of analysis consistent crash with the location of the log files and how to interpret the messages?

  Is there an Adobe support or is it just out of luck?

• HELP - lightroom 4, my tool of truncation does not work like it use too.

  I use to be able to grab a corner of the crop tool, usually the lower right corner, and then handle to move it to the desired size. Now, when I take this corner, I can push only in one direction. If I push too much, the horizontal would then become a vertical, alternating between the two. I checked to see if I maybe changed something in the settings, but nothing to change. Any have any ideas, please help, thank you. Steve

  I'm not quite understand the question. But I wonder if it is a problem caused by having locked proportions. If you click on the little lock that is visible in the tool of harvest controls, does make a difference to you?

  I tried to download Lightroom 4 trial. After download, Adobe site says it should start automatically, and if it isn't. Disable blocker, then try again.   Just bought LR6 one upgrade of the LR5 and installed (Windows x 64). When I choose "Lightroom Help" in the Help menu, it tries to open the web page

  I'm trying the demo version of LR2.3 when I use Lightroom help"in the Help menu, it goes to the line. However, I downloaded the help pdf. Is any way to get the program to use the pdf file on the hard disk instead of going to the line (or that does not change when I get the full version?

  Is there a manual printed with the full boxed version?  Or do I have to print the PDF? (I am an old man and prefer :-) printed manuals

  As Ian said, choose Help > Lightroom help will always lead you to a HTML file. He will take you on the web if you are online, or to a subset of web help that is installed on your drive hard when you install the application. Help us update web frequently, so it's good to come online to get the latest version. We also update the PDF file. You can click on the button download PDF anywhere on Lightroom Community Help, and he will give you the latest version of web help to keep locally. I hope this helps.

• Lightroom does not recognize the external hard drive?

  When I try to import files from anywhere - my office, or a SD - card in Lightroom 4 or now 6 (updated just to see if it would help), Lightroom is the photo file in what I would call an external hard drive of ghost. It creates a second external hard drive file that seems to be a copy of the original. A few weeks ago, the name of external hard drives has been accidentally changed or partially erased when I backup my hard drive without supervision in Time Machine. I'm working on an iMac with OS 10.11.4. At that time there Lightroom could not find any of my files of course! So, I renamed with much attention the hard drive exactly the same original name and Lightroom everything very well - recognized except, I started having this problem of import. When I import a file of the photo, he put it in an external hard drive of Ghost with the same name, size and number of files. If I try to move the file to the real external hard drive where it is supposed to go, Lightroom told me that the file already exists in Lightroom. If I look in my external drive outside of Lightroom, the file is where it is supposed to be. I tried just 'Add' the file to Lightroom, rather than copy or move, and that's okay. I tried to re-pointing Lightroom on your drive. Does not work. The only way I can get the files to go where I want they is to import, then highlight the recently imported file and move it to the folder of the mother. So, I have to move the file into the folder of the mother in the subfolder and then delete the now empty ghost the disk folder manually hard phantom. Help! Is there a way to merge the external hard drive with his ghost (or duplicate)? I can't find anything in the forums or documentation, and when I tried to call tech support, I came across a brick wall which is very frustrating. They said I couldn't get help by phone, I have to use the forums. So, please, let me know what I can try.

  Seems to me this is probably a problem of conflict with the readers in your catalog and LR is confusing where to put images and creates a clone instead. You have to work smart to get rid of the clone disk keeping the images with the same folder structure. If it's a long process, however, I'll try to be as simple as I could.

  To do a test at White folder on the drive itself out of Lightroom that must be maintained at the same place where the main images folder (main folder means - the very first folder under your player in your catalogue which should include all subfolders on the disc itself), then put a picture in the test folder and import it. the test folder will be part of the new drive of clone in catalog you would then move the main folder of the Original disc to the Clone drive in your catalog. Once you are done with the displacement of all the structures of folders in the test under drive clone folder. The original drive that was not identified by Lightroom would be gone if this isn't the case you can remove it manually and this is how you would leave with single drive with all your files/images existing and if you try to import the images now. They would go directly in the same destination folder that you choose on the screen to import instead of going in any drive clone/ghost.

  Now I really struggle to cancel the procedure. Even in the Option button Lightrom mobie don't give me the possibility to cancel this "difficulty" option.
