  I have a MacBook retina 2015 computers and a hard drive WD elements USB3 that I use as a Time Machine backup when they travel. The drive is plugged into the USB - C through one of the Apple dongles and when I first start the computer, the USB is mounted and that it appears on the desktop. He does everything very well.

  When I want to take the machine away, I eject it, wait for the secure message and then physically disconnect the drive. However, when I go back and reconnect the drive, the Mac did not see it. The reader will be able as the light comes on and I can hear it turn. Just, it is not mount and is completely invisible for MacOS.

  I checked all connections, even used another dongle - no luck. A disconnect does not set, and I tried to reset the NVRAM. So far, the only solution is to reboot the Mac, afterwards the player reappears - at least until I need to unplug it again.

  Anyone got any ideas what is underway and if there is a fix?

  This is I think understand that you are not able to see an external hard drive when it is ejected, and then reconnect the computer.  I have some suggestions that I hope will help you.

  It is important to try to isolate what is responsible for this.  The first thing to do to help isolate what is causing the problem is to start the computer in what is called Safe Mode and see if the problem persists.

  Start in safe mode:

  1. Choose the Apple menu > shut down.
  2. After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.
  3. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
     You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.
  4. Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

  OS X El Capitan: start in safe mode

  Once the computer is running in safe mode, see if you can duplicate the issue.  If the problem does not appear, go ahead and try to reboot normally again.  If the problem has disappeared, it may have been caused by a problem of file or directory of cache fixed by booting in safe mode.

  If the question comes up, you'll want to check the login items.  Follow these instructions to remove the connection:

  OS X El Capitan: If you think you have incompatible connection points

  Remove the connection, restart the computer and see if the problem persists.

  I have a R630 155 and I have a PC card / Express card slot as far as I know. Toshiba manual shows that it would be just below the optical drive [cd] on the right side of the laptop, but I do not have such a slot. Anyone know if it is possible to run a 'real' serial port using the usb ports. I have hardware installed on the field that requires a real serial port and will not work with normal cable converter usb to serial port that can be purchased. I have an another Toshiba that I use the pc card slot and I did not notice that the new laptop does not seem to have this facility. Maybe someone can help / advise?

  Ist point R630 hat not all models are equipped with a PC card and express card slot. As you can read in the manual that only some models are fitted with this slot machine.

  On Amazon and other online shopping, I found a few USB-adapters series so I think that this should be the correct part for you but I n t understand what you mean with real serial port.

  In your case I would just test it and if it doesn't work, you can send it back ;)

  I just installed Windows Vista RC1, which has just been published

  Just about everything works except the secure digital memory card slot.

  Until I installed Vista I ran the Compatibility Wizard and he said a few things that may not work, but the one that stood out was "SD Memory Card Format Utility.

  Right now the Vista is not supported by Toshiba because this OS is not official on the market.

  To open the SD card slot on your laptop of HP spectrum X 2, follow the instructions of the Manual:

  • To insert, press and hold the side label card with connectors in the face of the slot, then push the card until it is in place.
  • To remove, press the card and release it quickly. The card comes out.

  The laptop read the stick very well and I can see all the files into it but I can't seem to get out. I tried to push a little to get out, but it does not work and it's also pretty far in so I can't get out.

  To my knowledge there is no extra help for Memory Stick Pro DUO removing as on the PCMCIA port.
  You should try to get him out. If you n t manage to pull him out with you fingers, you can use a pair of tweezers.
  But be careful.

  There is no special way. Just 2 screws...
  So, if you have a wireless mini-pci network card, then you can open the lid, insert it and use it. But be sure to unscrew the screw more than necessary. :)

  And if you´re not able to open it, then you will need to use your boring usb adapter. ;)

• Tecra M4: Issue of PC Card slot

  Hi can someone help please.

  I bought a mouse Mogo X 54 which folds flat and is intended to be preserved in the a laptop PC card slot.

  I have a Tecra M4 which is not set up as it is designed to fit in a slot Express/54.
  I thought the card slot of Type II on my Tecra M4 it would have had to take.

  Can someone give me a simple explanation please.
  Are there adapters can I use or which would frustrate the object of it being kept with the laptop?
  As we loaded it partially, I checked that it worked with bluetooth - great.

  Would have been a really good solution to be outside and everything.

  I don t think so!

  I checked the hardware specs and it seems that this laptop was equipped location PCMCIA (Cardbus 32-bit/PC-Card 16 - Bit interface) and takes care the PCMCIA Type II only!

  I think you bought everything simply a card is not compatible!

  To begin troubleshooting, I would say hollow work the steps in the following article.

  If certain keys on your laptop's built-in keyboard do not work

  If the keyboard produces only numbers, make sure that seeing the capslock key Num are disabled. Press the NumLock key to turn off his light.

  IM expieriencing some difficulties with the PORTABLE THOSHIBA (EQUIUM A100) computer CARD READER.

  It supossed to be compatible with sd cards / ms duo/duo pro, etc., but in fact he only reads my sd cards...

  The problem with my mobile (from my sony ericcson) ms duo is the following: I insert my stick into the adapter and then im tring to stick the adapter with the stick in the media... card slot inside but opposite to my sd stick that fits perfectly in it, it seems unreasonable "Feelin ' of beeing glued adapter in (if you know what I mean" (: some "klick" sound like for example the one I hear while sticking a sd card).
