Help me! Application icon problem.

I want to build release that one product for many types of blackberry screen. I added all the size of all icons display app icon resource type. That can detect the app size screen and use a better size icon fix automatically? Thank you very much!

The view class will give you the height and width of the screen.

Home screen gives the default icon size you and also allows you to update the icon.

  • Size of the application icon... Home screen will not use the right one. Help!

    I thought I could include different sizes of icons (ie. 48 x 48, 32 x 32, etc.) and the camera choose the size of the device or the theme-appropriate application icons. Of course, this isn't the case. So, how do you get the device to use the right size for the theme icon?

    For example, I have a Verizon 8330 (curve) and the theme of Verizon uses sizes 48 x 48 icons. If I use a size of 48 x 48 icon to my app, it looks great. However, if I change the theme of one of the standard BB Dimension themes, it will be small scale my icon 48 x 48, 32 x 32, which seems quite bad. Why does not he chooses the icon size 32 x 32 I understand? How can I provide both sizes and have it use the correct size according to the theme? It looks even worse when I use 32 x 32 and he then it extends to 48 x 48. Help!

    You'll have to do it by programming it your application startup.  You can use the following code to get the width and height of the icon:

    int height = net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen.getPreferredIconHeight();
    int width = net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen.getPreferredIconWidth();

    Then set the using the appropriate icon:

    net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen.updateIcon( icon );

    Hey, JSammy.  I had mine works again with the help of someone from another site.  Here's what you need to do: press the green call button, then the menu button.  Select options, then on options General, highlight "dial from homescreen" and the value. Save and exit. Now on your home screen, press "O".  After that, the General menu options will come.  Choose the option 'theme' and choose a different theme or return to the default value.  This should be all your application icons to reappear.  After doing all this make sure you go back to reset the "dial" since the homescreen on 'yes '.  I hope it works for you.

  • Refused to output file: the application icon as a default icon

    After presenting my first BB app for review, my request was denied due to: "I've noticed that the app icon appears as a default icon. If you use our Eclipse plugin, please check your BlackBerry_App_Descriptor.xml file and make sure that you correctly specify your custom application icon"

    So, I changed the xml file and now I want to update (replace) my output files. On behalf of the seller Poratl, 'Presentation of release edition', to the 'Add Release Version' tab, I found bundles of 'file', but I can't find an option to replace the zip file, or delete the files. I don't know what to do to solve this problem.

    Please help, thanks.

  • The missing PlayBook Application icon

    Hi all

    I hope someone can help me with a problem I have. I am currently coding my first app webworks for the Playbook, and everything went well except that my application icon does not appear. I tried my compiled bar line on the Playbook 1.0.1 Simulator and a physical Playbook running OS, which do not show the icon. The icon I use is 86 x 86 pixel, named "icon.png". I have included the call of the icon in a file ' blackberry - tablet.xml "as:

    (the names of the author, authorID and the editor have been removed)

    I also called the icon in the config.xml file: ".
    "xmlns:RIM =""
    version = "
    RIM: header = "" RIM-Widget: RIM / widget ">"
    RIM: copyright = "2011".
    email =""
        <>committees mode = "landscape" / >

    My sidebar file was compiled using Webworks The three files ("blackberry - tablet.xml ', 'config.xml',"icon.png") are located in the root directory of the application. If you need more information to help me with this problem do not hesitate to ask and I will answer as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your help!

    I assume you are using the file blackberry - tablet.xml in the execution of an application not signed in the PlayBook device. This file is not necessary for signed applications, only the config.xml file is required. And for your problem, I guess it must solve it. In blackberry - tablet.xml , use the following code for the icon.

  • Trying to install Firefox 4.0, when I move the Firefox icon to the Application icon (in the dmg file) I get message that there is a newer version, but the version he is 3.6. What is going on?

    I have Mac OS 10.5.8 and Firefox 3.6.16. I am trying to install Firefox 4.0. I downloaded the dmg file, opened it, and flies over the Firefox icon to the Application icon. The result was a message saying:

    Yes, Firefox 4.0 is a more advanced than 3.6.16 version.

    Mozilla made the updates of security for older versions of long after a new version of Firefox is available. 3.5.18 Firefox came out at the same time that 3.6.16, and both are scheduled for another update daily now.

  • Windows 7 starter system tray icon problem

    Recently, I met a problem with my wifi icon in the system tray. At startup, the icon does not and continues to lead the blue sign loading. On right click, it turns into a different icon with a red x. To the left by clicking on the icon does absolutely nothing however other icons work perfectly well. The section in the control panel associated with networking also does not.

    I am able to access the internet on some sites. Some sites like hotmail etc do not load.

    I tried to reboot in safe mode, and there is no problem however, troubleshooting doesn't show anything wrong. Enter services.msc, there is nothing to slow down the computer.

    Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

    Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - writing version - click on Update Driver (can not do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Even for network (NIC) card - then right click on the devices and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stacks.

    Now go look at the site of the manufacturer of the system for the updated drivers.

    After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (Those become your fonts of rescue system manufacturer).

    Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)

    Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

    You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

    Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Windows 7 like the updated drivers.

    If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to turn off the pilot facilities in Windows updates, that leaves is to Windows Update, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it), then go get new ones manually if you wish.
