  Well, I took a chance that it might work... what I did was set up the MIFI, then once wireless put printer software cd in the computer laptop and is gone to the network connections on main menu tab after a few steps he allowed me to enter the wep key and magically it was printing, wireless and the Internet at the same time. At least it is at the moment.

  Have you tried to disable the firewall of your security system?  Have you deleted and added the printer in Control Panel?  If this is not the case, do it in this way:

  1. make sure the printer is on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address before continuing.
  2. click on > start > Control Panel > printers.
  3. click on add a printer
  4. Select local printer
  5. Select create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click Next.
  6. under device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under the name of host or IP address, enter the host name of the printer (found on the network printer configuration report the generated above). Click Next.
  If you get a message about required additional Port information, then the printer is not found using the host name. You can go back and start over or using the IP address of the printer instead of the host name.
  7. Select Hewlett-Packard in the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.

  I have a D-Link router 615 DRI (which nothing else gives me problems).  My daughter that a friend 'connect' and some how she renamed the router and reset the password while she was the only one on the router.  I have this again because all of a sudden I was not connected.  I connected it to the router with a USB cable, reset the router back to the same password and key security I had before, but when I arrived at the point of unpluging the USB I lost conection, but my daughters computer works just like it did in the past.

  I had the wireless icon is lit ulsing my Fn + F8 key combination.  I can't get the wireless icon is displayed in the bottom right of my screen.

  Any suggestions?

  Hi all.  I normally wouldn't have a problem with that, but I must be missing something.  I want to create a home network or small business between my desktop running windows xp pro sp3 and my laptop running windows 7 Home premium.  I want to share files and printers.  My desktop with windows xp computer is connected to a wireless router.  The printer is connected to my desktop as well.  My laptop is wireless with the wireless router.  I tried everything I can think of to get these two devices to the network.  If anyone can help.  Don't forget, my printer is connected to my desktop with windows xp and is connected to my wireless router which is connected to my cable modem.  Internet works fine.  the laptop with windows 7's wireless and internet works fine.  just impossible to get the two see each other or share what anyone.  Thank you.
