Help of e250 V1

Sometimes, when I load stuff the sansa screen is empty and when I try to delete a folder, it won't let me. When do not delete files, the pc says that the player has been disconnected or has stopped responding. Why these events happen?

Thank you CLU1 and tapeworm. Now, I understand the problem. I should format the sansa andload songs yet. And IT WORKED > YAY! Now I have a working mp3 player. Thanx.

  • [Help] error e250 with Micro SD card.

Everytime I turn on my e250 with my inserted micro SD card (or insert later), the screen turns into a random row of colors and begins to scroll to the bottom.

I tried formatting the card several times and is currently FAT32 (I read that it is what it is surposed to be formatted as?).

Currently to get music on the map I connect my e250 to the computer it will of course have MSC mode, then insert the SD Micro card connection. From there on, it reads another drive and I can load music on it.

But any combos (turning on the system with the MicroSD card in, turn on the system without the microSD card in, then once the system by inserting the card), I'm trying to make him read the card after that is disconnected ends with the screen turn into bars at random and scrolling down. Normally, it happens in the middle of the "refresh database"

I tried to search the forums and read the frequently asked questions, but I can't seem to find anything about it, unless I'm completely blind.

And yes I have updated my firmware and others, is the first thing I did.

    ~ Thanks a bunch!

The card is loaded with music when you insert it? If so, wipe it off & try again. I had that same screen on a 250 v1, returned, reloaded my music, and the same thing happened to the nine. Turns out it was a corrupted file song foaming on the player.

  • E250 SanDisk 2 GB MP3 Player - broke before two weeks, please help!

Well, I enjoyed my e250 player renovated for about the first 10 days, but tonight it's dead.  Here is what happened.

I was transferring some new music for the reader of my laptop.  After that I made and unplugged, I checked the player to make sure that all transferred correctly.  He said that nothing was there, no music at all the...  Well, I had not much there, so no BIG deal, I just start from scratch and put music on it again.

When I reconnected it, or tried, to the laptop, suddenly the Sandisk flash the introduction screen, white titles on black background, but would never go beyond this, would never load.  Later even if it stopped, and now I have a blue wheel on and cannot get the thing to turn on at all.  If I connect it to the laptop, the laptop does not recognize it at all.  I guess even the lighted wheel will turn off soon, when the battery dies.

    What can I do?

I this would come back to where I bought it, but it takes all the original packaging, which I threw it out after that everything worked fine for a week...

Any help appreciated, because I really want to fix!

    Ouch!

In retrospect, don't forget to keep your original packaging and received with any new device, at least for the first 30 days.  I would contact the seller, because they may be able to make an exchange for you.

The key here is to present your case and to maintain a civil tone, despite the obvious frustration, as friendly conversation will often do the trick.

If the unit will respond to the recovery mode, you can get to the top and running or the next step, e200tool.

Read the thread "blue ring death" for more information.  I would try to Exchange everything first, as a few days.

  • help for chkdsk e250

Well, here I am once more need help...

I have an e250 (v1 if that helps any...), and when I added a lot of songs, one day, I started to have duplicates of songs that were already on my drive and both channels worked, so I decided to remove them manually. Then after I was all done with that, virtually all of these tracks I removed is become a "wrong track" (you know, with the little red say box ).

I had intended to run chkdsk on my player, but when I plug it to my computer, sometimes as "Sansa e250" in my computer. And to the title of the 'Properties' box, it does not specify what its drive letter.

So my question is: how would I go about running chkdsk on my player?

Can't thank you all enough for all the help you have givin us needing help!

    ~ Fremmenista

Wow. Blonde moment of the day!

After re-reading the post of chkdsk in the FAQ, I noticed that you have to change mode USB... did and I got a drive letter! And now all these bad tracks have disappeared!

    Problem solved!

  • Help with my e250?

Well if I need help, I got this refurbished sansa so it came with no instructions and I can't even download the manual that comes out in another language. So, I just want to know how to delete the files from my sandisk? And how can I get the photo from the album onto the screen when I listen to a song? And when I plug it to the computer the file where all the songs are in isn't there only photos and recordings and videos. What I need to do or go? Oh and what are the different usb modes? What is the difference for each of them, is that why I can't see my songs through the computer do I need to change the mode usb or something?

Hope when someone can help me I am hopelessly confused, thank you

Explorer Windows, not Internet Explorer. Windows Explorer is what you use when you right click on computer (or my computer) and the Explorer.

Turn on the Sansa. Turn the knob until you see settings. Click on it. Turn the dial until you see the USB Mode. Change it to MSC, if it isn't already on MSC. Connect with the power cord. (The Sansa screen will tell written for a second and then connected.)  Open my computer (or computer, according to your Windows). You will see two new disk C: and D: drives. The first is the unit itself. The second is the slot for the MicroSD card, if you want to get one later.

Just to make life a little more complicated, the music folder is hidden for some strange reason. Follow these instructions for UN-hide it.

Then see if your files are there.

Do not keep your music in the music folder.  You can make a new (and not hidden) folder which is not called music: my music, songs, Albums, everything you want.

OK, remember you Settings/USB Mode? There was also the MTP mode. This is the mode to use to connect to Windows Media Player. Requires Windows Media Player 10 or 11 - no WMP 9, which came with Windows XP. You can update for free at www.microsoft.com.

Computer (or my computer) can't see a mode at a time: MSC or MTP, not both. In order to choose the one that you want to use and stick with it.

Go to settings/USB Mode and make sure that it is on the PSG to connect to Windows Media Player. You also need Windows Media Player version 10 or 11. If you use a computer with Windows Media Player 9, it will not work.

I have not used for a long time, so I do not remember if you can combine files from the internal memory and external card in a playlist or not, but I remember that you can.

  • Sansa e250 questions

    Hello

I'm new to this Ant thing, and I don't know if this problem has been addressed before, but it would be great if someone could help me!

I got my sansa e250 for about 2 or 3 years now, I guess, and it has always worked well.

I turned on the other day and tried to play a song, but it says "wrong track." I know that this can happen sometimes and thought nothing of it. but he spent with all the songs I played.

In addition, the player was all deleted music out of my playlists and when I went to view album and artist, he said that he had nothing. but according to the song, he said I had 754 songs out there.

I connected it to my computer and deleted everything on the player, it works and it was always in the same situation, with 754 songs, artists or albums and they were all the "bad tracks!

very frustrating. I have tried everything I can think of, like everything reset and take the battery, all with the same result!

When the device is plugged into the computer, it shows all the folders are empty. It is said that no space of memory has been used, there still 1.8 GB of left of the Hall. (what a 2 GB device)

so if anyone knows what the hell is wrong with it or what can be done to remedy this, it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

It is possible that your cord is wrong. But try to reformat via Recovery Mode. I hope that your E250 is a unit v1 - you won't see Welcome to the recovery on a v2 Mode, so we need to try something else.

It's the excellent Markster step by step:

Now, to solve the problem.  The easiest way is to just reformat the drive in Recovery Mode.  This will delete all your files, however.  Here's how:

    Turn off the player.

Slide the HOLD switch to the locked position.

Press and hold the RECORD button when connecting to the PC.

RECORD output once you see "Welcome to Recovery Mode" on the screen of the reader.

You should now be able to find that a new removable drive in my computer called 16 MB-FORMAT.

DO NOT TRY TO FORMAT THE VOLUME 16 MB-FORMAT!

    Are we clear on that?<>

16 MB - FORMAT open and create a new folder named sansa.fmt on it in the root directory.  You can now slide the HOLD switch to the unlocked position, use the remove safely icon and disconnect the player.  It will be noticed the sansa.fmt folder, and he saw, format itself and reboot.

  • mode MSC e250 presents itself as the 2 discs with 0kb and unknown file formats

I have an e250 v01.00.12A and when I put in MSC mode and connect to my computer, it shows two disks, each completely empty and with a size of 0 and an unknown file system. The system setting menu has NO option to reformat the drive. I'm trying to install Rockbox or even just update the firmware, but I am completely at a loss on how to address the issue. I tried using the Sansa Updater into recovery mode, but nothing has worked. Manual updates don't work because I have no way to get the files on the device in MSC mode.

    Thanks for the help.

Too bad. I have it. I updated the firmware and formatted (Sansa.fmt) in recovery mode. I had to do it twice, for some reason; the first time he totally ruined the memory and it would not connect in control or PSG in addition to showing as 0 MB in the settings menu. Tried again, and it works fine now. Thanks for the help, c1u31355!

  • E250 dead

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I tried to update my firmware - I have a 2Gb sandisk e250 - but after the update operation my E250 just died! Can someone help how to make it work back please? I can it turn on and turn off, I have only the blue ring on. I went through several steps recommended to recover, but none worked. I was not able to get this 'recognised' on my PC. The "hold REC for a maneuver WE"... didn't work. I have the blue ring in one market. FYI: I run Windows XP, I ran a firmware Updater but I failed to check the correct version of my E250. Thanks for any help. Kirsley

  • E250 stucks at "image main writing.

    Hey,.

as a first step please don't mind my English, I'm German.

Ive had my e250 player runs without major problems (well okay, ring of death last year, but was able to fix it), but 3 days ago, he said all of a sudden while listening to the music, that the audiotrace is damaged or invalid or something like that and it froze completely. reboot (reset was not possible) all of a sudden, he said that there was not enough space for music db so I free 6 MB (which were certainly existing, the player is never full, at least 300 MB of space). I also noticed that strangely only song is left on the player, even if the info said there are 1.6 GB used and only 1 song is left. on another reboot, it wasn't even a song left and he always said, there are 1.6 GB used.

I entered the recovery mode and connected, but "entry USB 2.0 MSD mode" has failed so I tried to enter the recoverymode once more. On the removal of the kable player suddenly wrote "Mode enter USB2.0 MSD - safe to disconnect USB - output USB2.0 MSD mode - system reset" all at the same time. It went over and repeatedly until I tried to reset it sweet in leaving the battery move ability 0.

Now, I'm fully able to enter in recovery mode (16 MB-device presents itself, I am able to put things and also done sansa.fmt a couple of times without consequences) and sitting here with "image main writing" for hours. I'm only able to stop this procedure without end by removing the battery, but I guess that's not as suggested: X

When I normally turn the player on, it always says that there is not enough space for music db. On the connection, it also is laggy as hell (Im only able to enter the player once, and then it freezes even if the (connected) arrows are always in movement and the watch battery loading.

    Thanks for the help,

    Vrede cordially

I realize, no one is interested or has an idea how to solve this problem.

  • Have some e250 problems

One, I don't have 3 MB of free space and my reader tells me to release 6 MB, so it may work it is music DB. I can't remove in the distance the player, and when I plug it in, music, photos and videos isn't here, that the things that came preloaded. There is no record of music. I can still listen to music tho...

I also have a 4 GB microSD card. Well, I have music on it and it does not load on the drive. I tried to attach the e250 to my PC with the USB modes and all. Oh, and this folder that appears increasingly e250 icon in MY computer, which does nothing, said only: "Please insert a device in slot m."

    Any help? Thx a lot.

As I said in my previous answer, you can not use a card of 4 GB with a v1 player. Only models v2 with different processor AMS chip supported (4-16GB) SDHC memory card format.

The only way to use the cards (over 2 GB) with the v1 models is to install a 3rd party firmware open source called Rockbox. It can be difficult to install and to use for a beginner and is not everyone's Cup o ' the. But you can check it for yourself at rockbox.org.

There are also many discussions about it here if you care to use the function "search".
