Help with Windows Vista black screen
I have a Windows Vista SP1 64 bit with 8 GB of RAM and 2 3850's Radeon ATi CrossFireX. in any case, I have a program called mechanical system, you've all probably heard before, this is an excellent program to clean your hard disk and defragment your memory. However, I ran last night and said the program automatically restarts the computer when it ended, after that he finished and I rebooted was greeted with the atrocious Black Screen of Death with a cursor, if it is not blinking and I can move it freely, but there is nothing I can do with it given the background task bar is non-existent and the entire screen is black.
I tried some of the solutions, I can not even the CTRL + ALT + DELETE to get into task manager and manually start explorer.exe; Help me please. The only type of response I can get from the system is to obtain the keys to stick to pop up when I hit the SHIFT key five times. I am very confused. I don't have external hard drives hooked up to it and there is no thumb-drive connected via USB either. I'm completely puzzled here. Please help me.

"I tried to post a question on my PC not allowing not windows update to install the latest definitions of security and I don't know there's a virus or a trojan, but before I could get an answer on the forums my computer crashed lastnight and and when I tried to restart, he said that the ' ACBRUVI. SYS' driver was corrupted and contained also the registry as corrupt. So I installed Vista on another partition and I can access the other system files and registry but I tried to restore the registry with a backup I had made using CCleaner, it did not help. I went to the location of the driver (windows/system32/drivers/acbruvi.sys) and it is there, but ranked 0kb. I don't know what this driver is, nor do I have another copy of it on my system. In addition, I lost all my system restore points and do not know how I contracted this problem/virus/worm/trojan horse regardless, but it seems impossible to repair using available like AVG free resources, advanced care and Windows Defender system (Windows defender will not update or another) how can I fix files and the registry without having to reinstall vista on the infected version? Help, please! PDF corrupts when downloading from the server.
I have a few menus that are downloadable (lunch and dinner). Dinner works great but lunch will not open after the download. Keep saying the file is corrupt. The parent file is a word doc and pdf file opens fine on my machine, but not after the download. I have never run into that and am running out of ideas. The page is http://www.mywanfu.com/menu.html
Thanks for any help.
I can preview the two files just fine on Windows Vista with IE8, FF, Chrome, and Opera. Only Safary crashed after trying to get a preview of your file.
Unfortunately, I can't find a precedent the search with Google. You will have to perhaps reinstall the Acrobat Reader software or better to install a more recent version (after you have uninstalled the current) in order to solve a problem with the print driver and recreate this document.
Kind regards

Need advice/help on Windows Vista Home Premium OS
Hello. I use Windows Vista Home Premium for 2009. In the last months, I was faced with a lot of problems and I was wondering if I should re - install the operating system to eliminate the problems or is it better to upgrade to a newer version of Windows? My PC is too slow, it has recently been virus-ed, and every once in awhile, I get an error message saying "operating system not found '. Another problem is that some of the USB ports/CD readers simply do not work. I tried to install/upgrade to update drivers based on the information I see on the forums here and it works for a while, but later goes back to send me some *. Would appreciate some advice/help in this regard. Thanks, M.
Hi, Meh17,
"Operating System not found"
This problem may occur if one or more of the following conditions are met:
- The basic input/output system (BIOS) does not detect the hard drive.
- The hard drive is damaged.
- Sector 0 of the physical disk has an incorrect or malformed master boot (MBR) record.
Note Some third-party programs or the alteration of the disk can damage an MBR.
- An incompatible partition is marked as Active.
- A partition that contains the MBR is no longer active.
Contact the manufacturer of your hardware
Perhaps your best bet is contact the manufacturer of your computer or your hard drive. The manufacturer may have a utility that you can use to perform a more detailed analysis for the damaged areas of the disk and help verify the correct BIOS settings. However, the damage on your hard drive can be severe. Sometimes, this means that your only solution is to replace your hard drive.

With the help of Windows Vista Edition family and unable to connect to the Netgear router.
No matter what patches I try, I still, I get a message error "settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. Two other latops under Xp and Windows 7 connect perfectly. The user called Geeksquad who told him it was the router. Replaced the router and the same issue. This default laptopp local only access point. Fix regedit for broadcast and Fixit file downloaded here have not solved the problem. Have you tried to push the direct connection button on the router, change the network connections settings... everything. Nothing works. Help, please! The user of this laptop is uber frustrated. I don't know what else to do.
Geek Squad - use if you do not want necessarily fixed it - but you like overspending for no reason.
Sounds like a bad driver/software.
What is the wireless network device in the system in question (I hope that something like Intel...?)
Is the latest software and drivers from the manufacturer of the device (don't not relying on Microsoft)?
May need to remove all network components, reset it and install the latest drivers - and if you think Geek Squad would do that... They could - if you get a child who loves really networking of their own things at home - but the odds are against it.
