Help! Print blurry Mid-page

I have a printer HP PSC 1310 series all-in-One. Recently, I installed an empty ink cartridge, and now in the middle of the page printing is blurred. Looks almost like the printer is adding a shadow to the text in the Center. I tried to re - align the cartridges, but the problem remains. Can it be fixed without getting a new ink cartridge? What's my alternative?

The most likely cause is the accumulation of ink on the MICR band.  The HP work on this web page has been deleted, but said something like the following:

HP Deskjet, HP Business Inkjet and inkjet printers from HP Color - cleaning of the band of vertical in Print flaws coding, shifts of margin or margins 'staircase by steps.

QUESTION:

The coding is the band one located just behind the stem of transport semi-claire. It aims to help the print cartridge faithfully keep track of its position as it moves along the stem of transport. Sometimes dust, ink or oil can accumulate on this strip and cause the following problems:

  • Prints "stairs" to the bottom of the left margin of the self-test page.
  • The margins left or right of the self-test are not properly placed.
  • Ink cartridges carriage slams on the left side of the printer.
  • Automatic test double-print or obscured shows the letters.
  • Defects to flow the length of a printed page (portrait orientation), or on the whole page (landscape orientation).
  • Printing stops and the lights of the Control Panel on the printer indicate an error.
  • Gaps appear in the printed text or images.
  • Slow printing

CAUTION:

Do not clean the strip of coding for the following symptoms: media pick questions, paper jam tilt, ink cartridge, missing points or rejection white stripes with printing and smeared or streaked black ink.

SOLUTION:

Clean the Strip coding inside the printer by following the steps below:

NOTE:

Extreme care must be taken during the cleaning process. If too much pressure is placed on the band of coding, it could become scratched (destruction of the engraving on the Strip), bent, broken or even move inside the printer. Damage of this type, the printer must be returned to HP for repair.

  1. With the printer on, open the top cover to the support to move to the center of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the printer.
  3. Place the cradle on the extreme right.
  4. Identify the MICR band a semi-claire, located just above the round, metal, stem from the cradle.

Figure 1: The coding of semilight Strip.

CAUTION:

When you pull the fabric along the strip of coding in step 5, enter the Strip gently, to make sure that the tape does not break. Pull the canvas in one direction from right to left, otherwise there is a risk that the coding strip can is dislodged from its mounting lugs.

  1. Moisten a clean rag or tissue with water, then enter Strip gently between thumb and forefinger and gently pull the wet cloth on the entire length of the Strip in a direction from right to left. Repeat this step with another part of the canvas to make sure to remove any foreign bodies.
  2. Place the cradle in the extreme left position and repeat step 5 on the right side of the encoding Strip, began as far back as soon as possible. Yet once, gently pull the fabric in a direction from right to left.
  3. Allow the coding Strip dry or dry gently with a cloth clean and dry, the MICR band.
  4. Place the crib near the Center and then plug the power cord into the printer.
  5. Close the top cover to the support back to the right side of the printer.
  6. Print a self-test to make sure that the printer is working correctly.

    Welcome @greg_a_leg,

Thanks to their participation in Forums of HP! I see by your post that the complete documents are not printing from different applications. I will definitely do my best to help you.

Try a self-test printing material in order to exclude a hardware problem: print a Network Configuration Page.

If you haven't already done so, repair the permissions of the drive on the Mac:

    • Repair disk permissions:

      • Click on your desktop so that it is written next to the Apple Finder icon, and then click Go (you'll see it next to the Finder after file, edit and view).

      • In the context of Go, click Applications.

      • In Applications, select utilities.

      • In the Utilities folder, you will see the disk utility, double-click on this icon to open the disc utilities.

      • Click on your hard drive, and then click first aid. Click Run to allow it to run.

    Reset the printing system:

Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.

Click on the Apple icon and then click on System Preferences.

    Click on Printers & Scanners.

Make a right click (or Ctrl + click) in the left white side panel, and then click Reset printing system.

Click OK to confirm the reset.

Type the name and the correct password.

Click OK to reset the printing system.

Then click on the sign to add the driver, highlight the printer +. (you may need to click the drop down menu to select the name of the printer) Then click the Add button.

Let me know how recorded the name of the printer in the Printers & Scanners window.

    How is the printer connected?

Feel free to click on the button 'Accept as Solution' and the 'Thumbs Up' for my help. Please let me know the results and if there is anything else I can help you. Thank you!

  • The print page opens not when I try to print a Web page.

I use Firefox for many months and so far I have had no problem printing a Web page. I was away for a week and discovered this problem yesterday when I tried to print a Web page. Maybe there was some changes during the week that I'm not aware of?

This happens on all websites or is it on particular websites?

Normally, a button to launch a page in the print format appears in a new window. Blocker integrated in Firefox allows popups generated by a user by clicking, but if you have additional security modules, maybe one of them is blocking those.

Could test you mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

    and OK reboot.

Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).

    Any improvement?

  • Printing a Web page to a .pdf or .xps file generates a file but it is empty. How can I fix it? I have Firefox 40.0 on a new computer laptop for Windows 10

When I print a Web page to a .pdf or .xps file, it creates a new file, but file Explorer says it's 0 KB in size. These .pdf files will open, but they are white - the only thing that appears is the outline of a page, without anything in the outline. When I print an .xps file, File Explorer shows that it contains 0 KB. When I try to open it, I get a message saying that the XPS Viewer cannot open the file. These things just started for me a few days after I installed Firefox 40.0 on a new computer laptop of Toshiba Satellite with 10 Home Windows operating system. I have the latest version of Flash Player (in fact, I just tried redownloading and reinstalling the current version; that does not solve the problem). I tried to change the format by default to print to .pdf file, but that has not solved the problem. I contacted the chat Windows support site; They told me that it was not a Windows problem. Is this a Firefox problem? If so, you can tell me how to solve the problem, please?

    Thank you

First of all, try to disable the extensions to see if that helps this, then try safe mode.

  • I can't get a site to print an entire page. on the right side is cut off.

The page is too large in width. I tried to 'fit to page' but nothing helped.

Some pages are not designed with printing in mind...

You can switch from portrait mode landscape to adjust to the page on a wider width.

Some users find it faster to copy and paste just the party concerned in a word-processing program, but often some of the styling is lost in the process.

Or you might consider to change the page before printing, for example, by using an add-on to remove the sidebars or other items you don't need in your print (assuming you don't need a faithful replica but only content).

    Mac OS 8 and 9 FireFox 10.6.8
If I print a web page, all simply to print or save to PDF, only the first page prints fine. Page 2 is shifted to the right, such as the information is cut on the right edge. Information is lost in the page break, several lines of text will be lost. If I need to print a page, I open Safari, which does a very nice job of formatting of the page for printing. But I want to use FireFox. Can you help me?

  • Printer does not print not complete pages.

When I give print command, the printer (I use MS Works), the printer starts to print a page and then, after a few lines, will be offline prematurely. The printer does not turn off. It sounds the signal that the job is done and ejects the sheet of paper. Maybe 5 lines are printed until the printer ends prematurely.

  • "prints" but the page is empty

My hp officejet 6110xi all-in-one that seems to work fine, but after the 'printing' the page comes out blank. I tried a hard reboot and have gone online to make a diagnosis of HP print - the diagnosis has not detected a problem, but when I printed the test page, it was empty.  Any ideas appreciated!  Thank you

Probably your cartridges have dried, perhaps due to power the printer before removing the cartridges were lucky to the Park.  Try to run the three cleaning cycles to the Toolbox, as described here , then try to print a page of test, as described in this page.   If there is any suspicion of printing (even a few strands) then the electronics is OK.  In this case a more thorough cleaning cycles can help.  If this isn't the case, then soak the print head in about 1 "of very hot water for 10 minutes or if can wipe the nozzles.

If there is still no sign of printing, this may indicate a power failure of the electronic control unit of printer.  You can check the cartridges dabbing them on a damp cloth.  A good cartridge will leave a dark spot of cyan, magenta and yellow or black according to the cartridge.
