  I have a 13 "Macbook, end of 2010. It is used to run perfectly until I installed Yosemite in late 2014 when he started to run slowly and Safari would crash.   I am currently the owner of desktop HP Pavilion 500-214.

  I noticed that the USB 3.0 ports do not seem to work.  Tried with 2 different brands of USB cables now.

  I connect my Samsung S5 with USB 3.0 desktop.  It connects to the 3.0 for a few seconds and then gives the message "cannot connect USB 3.0 devices.

  Sorry, but it is not easy to give you a good explanation. As far as I know a few other components materials don t support hibernation procedure. The problem is that if the unit goes into hibernation mode every process must be stopped and some of them cannot be stopped on the easy way and stop correctly but forced to shut down. I'm sure that your device goes into hibernation correctly mode if there is no external device. Am I wrong?

  Try to remove all external devices and after that, go to the Device Manager. Remove the USB ports and restart the device. After a reboot all components will be recognized and installed correctly. Check if the modem works correctly if there are no other USB devices connected to the laptop.

  Just realize, how complete this thread...

  I updated my RN102 to v6.4.1 and retested the portable drive which was complicated with v6.4.0. It seems that whatever the problem, it is, it has been resolved and I have successfully completed a full (via RSYNC) backup on this drive.

  I installed a Backup Plus a 2 TB Seagate external hard drive USB 3.0. Although I connected with a USB cable to a USB port on the HP it willnot at speed 3 USB transfer. Whenever I turn on the computer, I get the following message:

  I tried other ports and also tried a new cable; all without any result.

  Now I need to restart the computer almost everytime I need to connect a USB key or an external hard drive to make it boot and display on the desktop. I tried to use the two memory sticks as well more regular sticks USB using the HDMI adapter's USB port.

  My IOS is OS X as shown 10.11.5 9.3.2
