Help! R40 problems after reformatting

I meet a lot of problems after reformatting the laptop using the IBM recovery tool that comes with windows xp. After installing the drivers and xp

-I can't use the trackpoint (mouse) and I see no mouse pointer on my screen

-the system detects any USB or flash drive

-Problems of drivers even after installing the latest drivers ethernet network card and mouse. When I tried to install the latest drivers, he said: "the i/o operation was abandoned because of a thread exit or an application request.

-Tried to install xp sp3 but I said the installation did not complete.

-Cant even repair windows xp because he says "systemroot system32/ntdll.dll c0000221 unknown hard error".

Well just solved the DIF. The edition of the ibm recovery software xp sucks. What I did was deleted all the data on the hard drive and install xp using my cd. Then, everything works perfectly.

  • Need help to recover after reformatting? Compaq Presario CQ56-109WM Notebook PC with Windows 7...

Recently, my laptop crashed and would ONLY start for "Recovery Manager" with 3 options for "need help immediately!": 1 the Microsoft System Restore (which did NOT work for ANY of the listed restore points), 2. System recovery (or something to that effect, basically to restore it to the State "out-of-box" is the description says) and 3. Reduced Image Recovery (this is the one I used). Before that, I was getting the "Blue Screen of Death quite often, but always maintained with my updates etc and really use that thing especially for social networking sites, search web and music/games.» Also before I used minimized Image Recovery, I backed up my personal files to DVD - R using the index option all the way to the right of the screen in this same recovery manager. I have earlier obtained it can begin to go back to Windows, but most of all wiped... HOWEVER, I noticed that my 'D: Recovery Drive' always has a little more than 2 GB free on a little more than 16. I wonder if I can use this to restore everything I had before as I have "reformatting?" it, or if not, then how do I now do that using these DVD I burned? I'm not completely computer illiterate, but also not a rocket scientist lol and seems to understand top of my head this time... Any help would be GREATLY appreciated I am very nervous now that I've lost EVERYTHING!   ... SOMEBODY PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

Reduced Image Recovery reinstalls Windows and the drivers/software essential, leaving off a large part of the trial version pre-installed from the factory. System recovery reinstalls Windows and all software that came from the factory. If all software is what you are looking for, start to type the F11 key after turning on the laptop and run the system recovery.

If you are looking for your personal files, they should be on the backup dvd. There will be a. EXE file on one of the DVDs, last one I think. Click to start that and it will extract the files to a folder on the laptop.

Minimized, or recovery system formats the partition_that D is where the resident files reinstall them & run from. It remains the same after healing.

  • Old toshiba satellite 320 CDT: problems after reformatted drive

    Howdy there,

I was wondering if someone can help relieve my confused state. Have not messed around with computers cell phones a lot, especially the work stations, then when you go to reformat my friends laptop for free, I went on this issue the same way I have a desktop computer. Needless to say, big mistake.

I reformatted the hard drive, but now I have no access to anything, and because I read the bios is only accessible through windows itself.

I did win98se, win2000 and win95 boot floppies, no luck. I've yet to be able to copy files hard drive system, but the computer was win98se working in so much fashion may be a few days earlier. I have no recovery cd, as I am in the Japan, and my friends bought this beautiful piece of equipment used.

Not sure if there is a special mode, I have to put this computer reformat, or if I forget to do something for the bios before reformatting, and if I have to just go and Flash the bios with something new, so maybe I can put win2k here. Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

    Hi Bort

In my opinion you expect a good old classic too. I think that W98SE is acceptable for this device and works only with 233 MHz and has only 32 MB of RAM. I found the information this device was shipped with Windows 95. Some drivers for Windows 95, you will find under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com. Go to Support & downloads and download the drivers. Under product type, choose Archive.

I think that W2K will be too much for this unit.

  • Rig crashes even after reformatting, heavy registry problems.

Hello, I am building this computer in Dec 07, and it was working well until recently. I came one day at home in a very annoying virus and decided to just reformat since AVG and such could not find it. After that I managed to do reformat there great for about a week, then I started to have increase the registry errors, files missing, things like that. I tried to correct as I will, but many seem to just keep coming.

I am now at the point where I can't complete the Windows Update, is now telling me to do it because when it restarts the login screen does not load. I'm that attribute to a facility missed some video drivers. When I will not start I have 5-6 errors in a line saying that various registry files are missing. I tried sfc/scannow, and it fails to end at 52%, as many others. /CHKDSK does not resolve the problem. Run the Vista installation CD and tried all the options such as the Startup Repair and repair memory (forget what it's called). My internal Sata HDD is also detected as removable storage among other issues. I'm running out of ideas as to why it is so bad that my HD or RAM is corrupted somehow. Any comments would be great.

    1. are you able to boot into Windows?

    2. have you made further changes on the computer after reformatting the hard drive?

I suggest that you scan and remove any viruses or computer malware infection and check if it helps.

  • need to reinstall updates after reformat

I have to go to the cumbersome process of reinstall all updates when I reformat the hard drive of my laptop?

Lenovo has created three partitions on the hard drive installed. The smallest drive C contains Windows and software pre-installed. And I was told that the C drive should NOT be resized if not the OneKey recovery no longer work. But we are given the D drive which is MUCH bigger to contain all my personal data.

updates take up a lot of my disk drive of the insignificant C, 19 GB space, which, in the end, let me about 700 MB to work with installing progs more. with do I find n reinstall every single update after reformatting the hard drive or do a system restore point? in this way he doesn't eat any more space in my C drive good?

If not, grateful if you can advice me how to handle this accordingly.

    Hello Vanity.sha,

Thanks for your reply.  A new installation of any operating system takes about 2-4 GB of space in the partition & after OneKey recovery on system should have been about 75% of free space available. I think there could be some unwanted files & folders on your system, so try to free the C: drive & then try to deploy the update for Vista.

In addition, Microsoft & 3rd-party application has the ability to store the program files on all available disks, you can install these applications depending on the free space.

    I hope this helps.

  • Huge problems after updateing to 31.1.2

    Hello

I encountered several problems after the update to 31.1.2.

    1. I can't send emails from one of my accounts, or it only downloads the messages from this account. When I connect to this account's web e-mail messages are there. When I try to send the mail, I get the message:

    The message send failed.
The message could not be sent using SMTP server mail.vista - consulting.hr for some unknown reason. Please check that your SMTP server settings are correct and try again or contact your network administrator.

I have control over the mail server and reflected on the Messaging log and it said:

    2 Oct 17:08:37 droplet postfix/smtpd [10916]: connect from unknown [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
    2 Oct 17:08:37 droplet postfix/smtpd [10916]: lost connection after unknown STARTTLS [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
    2 Oct 17:08:37 droplet postfix/smtpd [10916]: disconnect from unknown [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]

When I try to send mail.

    2. the update of enigmail and ligntening had stuck somhow. In the Add-ons Manager window, I see the old versions and new (lightning 2.6.3 and 3.3.1 enigmail 1.6 and 1.7.2). However, the new versions has dimmed. Restaring Thunderbrid does not help.

    3. all my entries in the missing calendar which is a very big problem for me.

    Best regards

    Andrija

Close Thunderbird and go to your profile folder.
    There is a subfolder "extensions".
Find the folder for both the lightning and Enigmail under "extensions" and delete them.

I have a strange problem, after the mac is restarted, even when I decide not to join his joined apps a former State of the saved request. I can't make changes to the dock, after restart it restores an old state. When I try to import or save something in any application you see normally last modified files, yet his watch an old state. When I try to delete files that I always put my password, it's new. Im confused, I'm a long-time os x user since 1999 has never had this kind of problems.

    Help, please.

    Lars

Please, back up all data before proceeding.

This procedure will unlock all your user (not system files) files and reset their ownership, permissions and default access controls. If you have voluntarily set special values for these attributes on any of your files, they will be be restored. In this case, either stop there, or be ready to recreate the settings if necessary. Do that after checking these settings that did not cause the problem. If none of that is meaningful to you, you need not worry about this, but do not follow the instructions below.

    Step 1

If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to step 2.

Triple-click anywhere in the next line to this page to select this option:

    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nosappnd,noschg,nosunlnk,nouappnd,nouchg {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-

Copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing Command + V. I tried these instructions only with the Safari browser. If you use another browser, you may need to press the return key after pasting.

You will be asked your password of connection that are not displayed when you type. Type carefully, and then press return. You can get a warning to be careful. If you do not have a password, you will need to configure one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your user name "is not in the sudoers file", then you have not logged as an administrator.

The command may take several minutes to run, depending on the number of files you have. Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) to appear, and then quit Terminal.

    Step 2 (optional)

Take this step only if you have trouble with the phase 1, if you prefer not to consider, or if this does not resolve the problem.

Start in recovery mode. You may be prompted to select a language, then the OS X Utilities appears.

If you use FileVault 2, select disk utility, then select the icon for the volume FileVault startup ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) It will be nested under another icon of the disc. Click the Open button in the toolbar and enter your login password when you are prompted. Then quit disk utility must be returned to the main screen.

    Select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

in the menu bar. It will open a Terminal window. In this window, type this:

    resetp

Press the tab key. The partial order you entered will automatically end this:

    resetpassword

Press return. Opens a window to reset the password. You do not need to reset a password.

Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name) if not already selected.

Select your username in the menu option allows you to select the account if not already selected.

Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the reset button.

    Select

    ▹ Restart 

    in the menu bar.

  • Satellite U400 - PSU40E Synaptics touchpad problem after the recent update to BIOS

    Toshiba welcome,

I've tested this in reverse, this is why the statement in the subject as it looks. After upgrading the bios of 3.00 to 3.50 touchpad loses its precision. Very rude and useless its like that.

I tried different drivers, everything, but the only way to really solve this problem was it downgrade to 3.00 OR uninstall the driver Synaptics completely. Second solution, unfortunately, is unacceptable, because then I lose some features, like click on contact, which I don't use and control.

    Hey Buddy

I U400 and the BIOS has been updated to the newest one.
The touchpad works like a dream. I m using Win XP and Vista and there is NO problems after BIOS update!

In your case, this may be only a software problem and I think you can use the Toshiba Recovery disk and could reinstall the whole OS from the Toshiba drive

It is a really radical solution because the whole HARD disk may be formatted, but if the resettlement of these two drivers touchpad didn t help then I think this would be the last solution.

    Hello theodd1out

If you have two partitions, you can install the operating system one comes first by using the installation in Expert mode. In this case, all data on the second partition will be backed up. If you are using a Standard installation in this case all partitions and data will be deleted. In this case it will be created a partition and OS will be installed.

Fenriz is the best solution to preinstall the device using the recovery CD. In this case the unit will be clean installed. Otherwise, remove the sound card in Device Manager, detect the new hardware. Reinstall the sound card and the modem driver again. If two devices are recognized and installed correctly, check the properties of audio devices and all the settings there. In the future if you have any problems, please describe the situation better. If you write, I have no sound is not easy to say what can be the problem.
