Help the clean installation of Windows 7 Pro and using the GPO to run automatic updates and restart all night
I am trying to solve a problem that will probably require a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. The grace period ends in 3 days, and the next 30 days are final exams at the College. I have 2 licenses (and product key) of Windows 7 Pro, but my drive HARD goes wrong and I don't want to use MAK activation. I will be eventually to replace the disk, but is now bad timing.
If a reinstall is needed, I was going to ask if anyone knows how to set the strategy of perhaps a GPO where Windows is updated automatically in the background and after installing updates, 45 or 60 minutes, then restart. The goal would be to have a computer fully patched when I wake up in the morning.
This is my plan:
Install Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit > Windows automatically updated and plug the Ethernet cable > define a GPO where the computer waiting for 45 to 60 minutes after installation of updates (so the msi may end in the background, and I do not interrupt the installation) > the PC will restart > more update swill be downloaded and installed > wait due to the policy of GPO before reboot > Reboot > do it until it's over. > wake up with a PC fully patched 7-9 hours later.
Is this a workable plan?, and if so, how do I define policies such as delay restarting, etc. to achieve?
The reset did not work. It would be a simple solution. I have a valid license, but I don't want to replace the HARD drive until after final exams are over, so I'll reinstall and activate. I try to achieve in the next 24 hours, so it doesn't keep me from my school work. I must also support and will then replace my files.
Feel free to advanced used terminology. I have some experience.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Another question: should I install a security suite before all updates being installed more than 12 hours, or wait until later? What is the level of risk?
Anyone used Ninite to automate the installation of other programs? Is how safe it?
Thank you!

Can not access the updates after clean install of Windows 7 Pro
I have formatted my hard drive digital, preformed a clean install of Windows 7 Pro. Everything went well and OS seems to be properly authenticated.
The question is not able to 'find' updates. At startup, the message: NEW UPDATES AVAILABLE. When I check the updates, the process runs "forever" and never completes the process. The problem would be to my use of Office 2003? I have installed for messaging and Outlook calendar. Here's the MGADiag.exe diagnostic tests.

You can reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on this page. But if there is malware present, she will continue to reset the connection to the update servers:
How to reset the Windows Update components

Suggest you download and save the Fixit. Then configure the system before the clean boot by running:

Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.
I suggest before you stop and install the updates, disconnect from the Internet, first.
I also recommend that download you and install Service Pack 3 for Office 2003, then look for updates in the Help menu.

Windows will ask drivers during the installation of Windows 7 Pro on samsung SSD 950
I'm doing a clean install of windows 7 Pro on a new Samsung 950 m2 Pro drive. My motherboard sees the drive but the windows 7 install is not and wonder which I can't find a driver. It is a new construction. Asus motherboard. I'm installing from the DVD, and everything starts fine until the Setup program cannot find the 950 pro. The 950 pro is the only player at this moment, I installed. Is there any solution for this?
Thanks for looking into this but I found a solution, all I had needed was the pilot for the 950 pro, once everything went as smooth as, say Kalua. Feel good that here the monster has increased.

Old dualboot options still available after the installation of Windows 8 Pro on desktop in XP, but now triple options. Windows 8 Pro (volume 1), Windows 8, old windows installation. Anyone who knows how to get rid of the last two options? The good thing is now that I don't have to put a password everytime I turn on the computer.
Press the Windows key + X and then click System
Click on advanced system settings
Click the Advanced tab
Under Startup and recovery, click settings
Select Windows 8 and uncheck the box "time to display list of operating systems.

Relax and breathe.
FIRST: Uninstall IE8 and IE7 if they are installed. Back to all the way back to IE6. You want other patches before you get those. Reboot after doing this.
You are not the first to ask questions about how to upgrade a clean Windows XP - not even installation in the last week. In fact, I will just cut and paste my answer here... here:
Get SP2 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]
Install it.
Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.
Get SP3 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]
Install it.
Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.
Download at least Internet Explorer 7 (if it is not Internet Explorer 8).
Install it.
Reset.
Now, try to get the updates through the normal web page (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) and see how much more you can get (100 +) and keep checking until you no longer have.
Back - let everyone know if it worked for you.

New installation on windows 7 pro 64-bit sees not connected wired Officejet 6500 E710a-f
Hello!
New installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on a gigahertz 3.40 AMD Phenom II X 4 965 with 8 GB of ram. Printer drivers worked on the same bench while he was running as Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
After only install FF, AVG, and Acrobat (almost a clean install), downloaded the software HP Officejet full feature and pilot 2012-10-22, Version: 116,98, 28.8 M - OJ6500_E710n - z_1315.exe and tried to install the Officejet 6500 E710a f.The printer has a manually set static IP and can be ping from the host. Clean Windows Firewall is disabled and stopped.
The web interface using the IP address of the printer comes with all the features works on FF.
Network status shows connected with IP address, hostname and Mac.However, when installing the network audit is no ethernet connection. Even manually enter his public static IP address or hostname does not solve the problem.
Try the USB, the same question option. I see in Device Manager under other devices HPOfficejet 6500 and 6500 HPOfficejet - Fax with a blue questionmark.
(In the same "other devices" there are 2 Officejet 6500 with a yellow exclamation point - probably from failed network installation). In the printers and devices window, the 6500 is displayed with the correct thumbnail, but with a yellow exclamation point icon. Law and by selecting the convenience store, Windows comes up with the message that no driver is installed and offers a solution. The correction ends with the error that no drivers not found for the FAX. Re-apply the patch never finds the driver.
Anyone who has met something similar (and a solution)?
Thanks for any help!
Jack
After trying to do an install clean-install of 100% and once again, the driver software could not find the printer name or IP address.
Back at each stage, I noticed that I was not using the correct driver! For some reason I D/L the pilot E710n which is for HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One.
Whatever the difference, when installing the E710n for the model does not detect the printer, or via USB or Ethernet.
After you download the right driver for the E710a - f HP Officejet 6500 a e-All-in-One Printer (OJ6500_E710a - f_1315.exe) installation perfectly finished in a few minutes and everything goes well...You would think, base or USB connectivity network should not be dependent on the specific differences sub-model. I was expecting that a bad driver interrogate the device after finding its IP address and display an error message with useful text.

I want to clean install windows 8 pro x 64 on a new ssd upgrade.
I have windows xp x 32 on an existing hard drive which I no longer use, I can do this, that I can start the upgrade process, and then point the installation on the new SSD?I really don't want to install XP on the new SSD and am not bothered about keeping programs or settingsHow to do a clean install:
Step 1: Use the upgrade wizard to describe the PC and pay the $40 (US)
Step 2: When the 'Install Windows 8' message appears, select 'Install by creating media' to create a bootable USB key or .iso (a disk image) file.
Step 3: Wait for the Wizard download Windows 8 Pro installation package and create the bootable media or .iso file. The flash player must be having 3 GB or more of free space available.
Step 4: Burn the .iso file, if that's the path you have chosen, to a blank DVD.
Step 5: Use this key USB or DVD to boot the PC.
Step 6: When you get to the screen in the Setup program that asks, "which type of installation you want?" choose "custom".
Step 7: Select a drive for the operating system partition in the next screen. At this point, you can create a new partition if there is enough space available or reformat the hard disk.
Step 8: Proceed with the installation of Windows 8 Pro.
You should probably do a phone activation after installation is complete.
1. press the Windows key + X , and then click run, and then type: slui.exe 4
2. then press the ENTER"" key.
3. Select your "country" in the list.
4. choose the option "activate phone".
5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

Error 0 x 80070570 when you perform a clean installation of 8.1 Pro
I'm trying to do a clean installation of Windows Pro 8.1 and receive the error code 0 x 80070570 immediately after entering the product code and selecting the installation drive.
The error box says it is related to missing or corrupt files. The disc itself is bad, or the error code is incorrect. If the first case, is possible to get a replacement disk or an .iso image in order to create a new installation disc? If the latter, what now?

Hello
"do a custom (clean) installation for windows 7 home premium.
You say you want to install Windows 7, NOT Vista.
It is a better idea if you buy you the Windows 7 DVD and then install it from the media.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.
