help to install/uninstall a program (FSX)

I'm stuck between the installation and uninstallation of Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

Initially installed, but somehow never installed.  When you are prompted to repair or remove the program, no option seems to work.  Repair the program says that it is a current installation and must be completed.  Remove/uninstall to start over is not possible either as a "run time" error occurs.
The program seems to be loaded onto the computer (shows less memory on hard drive), but there is no way to access the program without the disc.  Any way I can find a way to complete the installation or replace and uninstall completely and all over again?
Thanks in advance.
Rob

Hi blanton.

Thank you for visiting Windows Vista Microsoft answers forum.

I am familiar with this issue, because it can occur if the game is not installed correctly.
Our action plan will remove all the files associated with the game, and then reinstall it.

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:

  1. Download and install the utility Windows Installer CleanUp from the link below:
    http://download.Microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe
  1. Click Start, point to all programs, and then click Windows Installer Clean Up.
  2. In the list of the products installed , delete all entries that are related to Microsoft Flight Simulator X, you have installation problems.
  3. When you remove the appropriate entries, click exit.
  4. Restart the computer once and then try to reinstall Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
