    Original title: upgrade

    When I bought my computer it is pre-loaded with the French of Vista Home Basic version.

    I now want to upgrade to the new installation of Windows 7 (English) - will this facility simply on the Vista of origin and automatically be in English or will it still change the language? If this is the case, Windows 7 has the language options or will it once again an application?
    Or he will recognize the existing language of the operating system and go French?
    Thank you

    How to make a custom installation:

    Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
    When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

    You will receive the following warning:

    The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

    (At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

    Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

  • Flow 8: Need help for upgrade of windows 10 8 Stream

    I'm trying to upgrade my 8.1 Stream 8 Win to win 10 to aid Assistive technology update from MicroSoft on this page

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibility/windows10upgrade?tduid=(14c348e893a91089cb2980533c6ee1...) ()

    I started by updating Win8.1 completely so that there is nothing on the Tablet and then downloaded the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 10. When I started running he says he he had enough memory, but it stopped at 95% and said: he is there not enough of free space. I let him try freeing up a space, but he could not find anything.

    I found a few threads on the forum about this, but they all were too complicated for me or a different installer that had buttons that is not in question.

    I'm not experienced with this sort of thing, so I need very simple instructions. Can someone help me with this?

    BTW: I have empty drives USB 8 GB and 4 GB and a notebook NC6400 with Win10 that I can use during this operation, if that helps.

    The second line in your original post mentions 64 bit where my concern. Yes you correctly found that the stream 8 has a 32-bit version of Windows and and x 64 compatible processor. Due to the needs of additional memory to a 64 bit OS, I don't think even to try to install a 64-bit version of (even if it were possible). If Windows 8.1 32 bit is upgraded by using the normal upgrade process then yes it'll upgrade automatically to 32 correct but the version of Windows 10 Home. Multimedia authoring tool will allow you to choose which version you download however (as the machine that allows you to download the Windows version may not be the device that you want to upgrade) that is why it is important that you get the 32-bit version only.

    If the instructions you found on the upgrade via a USB stick with Windows good, 10 build are difficult for you to understand so yes, I suggest you use the line of Support technique Microsoft and get some "hold your hand" during the process. As to how you connect the USB to the Tablet I'm not sure what you mean by an adapter "regularly." If it has good caps at each end to connect your USB to the Tablet, then it should work. I used a 4 port powered USB 2.0 Hub when I did my upgrade etc because it allows me to keep the Tablet powered / load all by allowing multiple devices to plug - do not just the memory stick, but also a combination of mouse and a USB keyboard. I posted the details of the cheap and simple hub I bought for this purpose elsewhere on this forum. HTH

  • Help on upgrading to Windows 8

    I'm having trouble installing Windows 8 on my laptop. First, he was not able to find my hard drive, but I fixed that by inserting a usb key and find the driver here (I do this whenever I try to install). Then, I get the warning: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is a MBRpartition table. On EFI systems, windows cannot be installed on GPT disks. "I've done all this trouble? Or am I missing a process that I'm supposed to do?

    Laptop: Envy 4-1048TX

    The version of the BIOS/Date: Insyde F.23, 15/01/2013

    SMBIOS Version: 2.7

    You're not really something wrong or lack of any process. If you put the DVD in the CD/DVD drive and boot from that... it's what you need to do. However, a small problem... you have to leave the first prompt to boot CD/DVD pass without pressing any key and then press a key the second time that the boot prompt appears. Alternatively, you can start typing the "F9" key immediately after turn on the computer and select the legacy - "Internal/ATAPI CD/DVD Drive" to boot from.

    Your question is the result of the computer with a hard drive MBR partitoned and initiate media of Windows 8 as EFI/UEFI. Boot from the DVD "Legacy" and you will be able to install Windows 8 on a disk partitioned MBR.

  • I am unable to get the computer manufacturer to send the disc to reinstall Vista. I tried to do this task almost 3 weeks. I need to reinstall Vista so that I can upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit. Please help me. I have the product code.

    I mistakenly installed the 32-bit version of Windows 7, and I try to install the 64-bit version.  Info on other forums says there is no way to do it without a disk... I do not have with the computer.

    To go from 32 bit to 64 bit, you have to do with a FULL 64-bit version, by performing a clean install. so I don't see what the problem on Vista reinstall is.

    Unless you have Vista 64 bit, it will not help you upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit.

    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Hello
