Help upgrade a processor of ea 2442 p6.

Hi I have a 2442 ea p6: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03714374

I'm looking to upgrade the processor to an i5 3570 k or an i5 2500 k, my question is would not a simple trade off the old processor to the new?

I managed to upgrade the graphics and PSU without any problem would it be the same thing. Thank you.

None of these processors ("i5 3570 k or an i5 2500 k") seem to be compatible.

Review the specifications of the motherboard and look into the compatible CPU full model designations.  There is no models with K designations among the list of compatible CPU. The difference is the graphics chip, which is disabled by your motherboard.

The upgrade should be quite simple. Use a high quality thermal paste and follow the instructions. I suggest Arctic Silver and instructions for installation on their Web site.

Kind regards
ERICO

    Chuck,

Here are the specs of your current motherboard.  Motherboard is a microATX 9.6 "by 9.6".

Some of the issues that you may encounter are the motherboard connections.

Your PC is 6 six years so you can consider a new PC.

  • The UPGRADE of processor in NB520: of N550 at N2800

Hello everyone. This is my first post. My question is this:

I've a Toshiba NB520 netbook with an Intel Atom N550 processor. I would like to know if I can upgrade the processor * welding * a N2800. This is the same socket: BGA559.
I don't know if the BIOS or chipset would recognize the processor.

Can you help me? Thank you!

    Hello
To my knowledge the processors are not welded but "nested" which means that the processor is removable from the system board.
But this does not mean that the party must be exchanged/updated or changed.

In most cases, the BIOS does not work with the replaced CPU which causes a malfunction of the machine. The other reason that could make this not recommended is the chipsets support.
However, support for chipsets can be checked on the Intel ARK Web site.

But I m wondering why you want to upgrade the processor? The performance difference isn't important.
Of course, you'd get a faster processor, but the performance gain will be not noticeable.

My advice: replace the HARD drive with a new SSD. It's much better choice to increase the performance of s for laptop.

  • Equium P300-190 - Question about upgrading the processor

    Hello

I just have a question for my CPU PC Toshiba laptop, I have a can of Equium P300-190 full to give model number if necessary the cpu is one supplied with the laptop.

My question is I want to upgrade the processor but do not know which would be the best option and there are limits with the BIOS, etc. on board.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably it is not known to you that upgrading the CPU is not officially supported by the manufacturers of portable.

The CPU upgrade is a tricky thing... the fact is that the CPU must be supported by chipset and BIOS.
Where a party would not support the new processor, the unit will not light.

So even if you use a CPU that is supported by the chipset (Intel GM965) there is a risk that the BIOS could not support the new processor...

The laptop was equipped with processor Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor T2390 (Merom code name) probably the other CPU Intel Pentium Dual-Core family-owned would be compatible, but to be honest, you won't see a performance improvement...

So in my opinion it is not worth trying to upgrade the processor...

In my opinion, you need to replace the HARD drive with an SSD... in that case you will get the performance improvement...

  • RAM upgrade problem: Flash the BIOS? or upgrade the processor?

Hi, I jumped in with both feet and now need help to get out me!

I have a desktop PC HP Pavilion Elite HPE-470uk who becomes a bit slow (processor card here http://ark.intel.com/products/48505/Intel-Core-i3-550-Processor-4M-Cache-3_20-GHz). After you have added a bluray player that I noticed that it's getting a bit slow so thought I would add little RAM.

I bought a few Hyper X8GB of HyperXbeast 1600hhz, slipped in and the PC did nothing but to turn on and off several times. I checked the two sticks and they both do it. I then (plow in front) checked what memory, the processor can handle and discovered "The Intel® Core™ i3 - 5xx / Intel® Core™ i3-21xx processors handle memory DDR3 1066/1333 MHz" by http://www.intel.com/support/processors/corei3/sb/CS-031175.htm

After a discussion on another forum, that it has been suggested that I have updated the BIOS because it can allow the processor to manage memory 1600 mhz, but I don't know where to start on this or what version to selected download. I'd appreciate any help you can offer on this.

The other way, that I can see is to update the processor itself. I thought of nothing too fancy just an i5 because it will allow me to run 3d blurays and should allow me to run some apps at the same time. After reading this http://m.wikihow.com/Upgrade-a-Processor it seems too complicated. Is it really just a matter of taking off the fan, declipsant the old processor, nine droping in and then put on some cooling stick stuff?

Or should I just return the memory and get good memory?

    See you soon

    Atdot.

Here are the specifications of original factory for your desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-470uk and its card mother MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E). Based on these specifications, this model can support up to 16 GB (4 GB x 4 DIMMs) as follows:

    Dual channel memory architecture
Four DDR3 DIMM sockets (240 pin)
    PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
    PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)
    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered
Supports up to 16 GB on 64 bit computers

    In addition, this model can support the following Intel processors;

Maximum frequency of the processor of the heart < = 2.93GHz
    Intel Core i7 - 8xx (Lynnfield core)
    Intel Core i5 - 7xx (Lynnfield core)
    Intel Core i5 - 6xx (Clarkdale core)
    Intel Core i3 - 5xx (Clarkdale core)

If you do not have to worry about the update of the BIOS, there is no updates available for your computer BIOS. Honestly, I return the incorrect memory and upgrade to a minimum of 8 GB of RAM. Then, if it solves all your problems, you could also upgrade the processor.

As the computer is nearly 4 years old, you can consider a factory HP restore to return the computer to a facoty as State. In many cases, it returns original full speed of the computer. The reason why this helps, because the BONE is swollen and clogged over time.

  • 23 - g011 HP Pavilion all-in-One: can I upgrade the processor?

    Hello world!

I'm at an impasse earlier and had to get a fast PC. What I ended up getting was 23-g011 HP Pavilion all-in-One. When I got it, I thought it was OK, but as I started working I realized its limitations. I guess that there's a 1.3 ghz processor, which seems to be the only real issue with it, I would say.

My question is, can I upgrade the processor?

I heard different things. Some say yes, others say no.

I really don't know much about this stuff, but I hope someone can help me here.

    Thank you!

I'm sorry, but apparently the proccessor is soldered to the motherboard of the computer, so you cannot update. All-in-one computers are not designed to be upgraded (I have a Pavilion b010 20 with a proccessor 1.48 GHz) and I would really have a problem with the "no upgrade" thing if the proccessors was not so terrible! I feel you, I do a lot of game and I have for them to run as 5 fps. So to sum it all, you can't update.

  • P7 - 1010t cto Pavilion: upgrade of processor and RAM memory

I wonder if the upgrade to a faster processor and the RAM imcreassed will provide significant performance and practice

Yes, but you must consider a few things first.

RAM, if you currently have one slot of occupied RAM then add more RAM to fill all the slots does two things for you, it increase the bandwidth to access RAM and what is obvious, give you more memeory for your applications and reduce disk swapping.  Increase the bandwidth for RAM access ceratinly will provide a performance gain just by itself.

Upgrade the processor is debatable and depends largely on what you use your PC for.  If you simply run email and web browsing then probably an upgrade is useless, but if you run several CPU intensive tasks then a processor upgrade help. Processor intel celeron and pentium are core, i3 range are dual core and the i5 and i7 are four hearts.  Simply the best kernels if you run intensive taks and i5 and i7 processors support the turbo boost, which means carrots redundant can kick in to increase the speed of these processors according to demand.  Hyper-threading (with several processes running in parallel) is also supported by the i7 (maybe some processors i5 as well).

  • Ask for help upgrade (Mac Pro early 2009 2x2.6 GHz Quad-Core)

I am a videographer who has need to bring my Mac Pro from the dead. Cheesy with video files, but not parts of. My reading so far led me to look at in what follows. I'm looking for a better understanding of each of the following items and upgrades are beneficial and worth that may be too kill for a round of aging.

    1. Memory. I currently have 4x2gb or total of 8 GB of ram. I know this is ridiculous, I have not increased by at least 16 GB so far. However, I have read that memory can only help so much and that some of the items here are actual speed thrusters. How much memory is recommended for this configuration? Should I buy? http://www.Amazon.com/16GB-DDR3-1066-PC3-8500-1066Mhz-Apple/DP/B0098MLFJG/
    2. Solid State Drives. I currently have 3 disks internal thatrange of 500 GB to 2 TB. If I used that as my boot drive, where is the best place to install (see photo below)? I read of people installing in a Bay SATA HDD or SATA optical drive unused. I read good things about it. http://www.Amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-I...p/B00OBRE5UE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?IE=U TF8
    3. Video/graphics card. First of all, both mean the same thing? Are the belowonly of slots PCI Express 4 for this type of card? Also, can you have two installed? I have the NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB series. What is the best way to upgrade? My research so far has led me to the GeForce GTX680. Looks like I'll have to buy it was good. T7ZS http://www.Amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-DisplayPort-Graphics-02G-P4-3682-KR/DP/B00C81
    4. Processor upgrade. I'm intimidated by it due to intensive installation and prices. What would be the next best bet - upgrade to 12-core? Where to buy?
    5. Firmware? I've seen videos and forums on (4.1 - I) (5.1) or (6.1). I don't really understand what that means. Should I be concerned?

    Thank you!

-The bus SATA on the Mac Pro is only SATA II (3 GB/s) and connected to the bus SAT SSD is therefore limited to speed SATA II, not the speed of current SATA III (6 Gbps) drives.

-You can get cards PCle who accept the standard SATA SSD and who can get speeds of SATA III

-You can install several graphics cards. I have my 2009 MP, I have the original GT120 in slot 2 and a 5770 PC card into slot 1 (slot width double only).

    Hello

Upgrading the CPU is a bit tricky on laptops and more often than not desirable and is not possible.
After the CPU overheating upgrade, it would be possible that don t cooling modules are working properly and the laptop.
Why? Well well, the CPU new and stronger products, more heat and the temperature would be Monte. The fan table that is stored in the BIOS will not correspond with the new CPU and the cooling fans would not correctly work.
In addition, upgrading CPU will void your warranty! It's very risky!

Anyway, looks like you certainly want to upgrade the processor?
So I would check the chipset installed on your laptop.
Try to know the details of the chipset and Intel page for compatible processors research!

    Hi guys,.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ42-203AU with AMD processor and graphics. And what I want to ask is, can I upgrade the processor and graphics of my laptop? If it is possible, what is the maximum and graphic compatible processor for my laptop? I thank very you much for your help in advance.

    Hello Netbuckler,

I understand that you are interested in upgrading the processor and graphics card on your laptop, is that correct? I will try and provide you with information that needed to get there.

The processor can be improved in this particular notebook. If you go to page 91 in the maintenance manual , it will give you a list of processors and it will show you the steps to do it yourself. I don't know what your current status of security with this laptop, but if you are still covered the upgrade of the processor warranty this I just want you to be aware.

Now and then when you're dealing with the graphics card it is soldered to the motherboard if you will not be able to update. If you really want to improve the graphics, as you go through the motherboard. There is a list of those on page 81 in the owner's manual as well.
