Help upgrading RAM for Pavilion G7 A7A46UA

I'm looking to get more RAM for my HP Pavillion G7. I searched spare parts with the number of my product (A7A46UA) and noted that the replacement part would be

Module memory PC3-12800 4 GB, 1600 Mhz, 641369-001 (SHARED)

Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Here is a picture of my current RAM

Thank you

It's actually a very specialized type of memory called DDR3L low voltage (1.35 volts).

It's the same thing:

The Crucial scan seems to direct me to the memory of better and faster that is listed in the Service Guide. My laptop took advantage of this Crucial memory to operate at faster speeds than the memory, I have now? What latency (CL) cases? I saw sticks to new Egg with CL = 9 instead of this Crucial CL = 11. CL is important? What I have to buy two Crucial 4 GB sticks or I can I keep my original 4 GB stick and add a Crucial 4 GB stick for my 8GB? Is Crucial memory memory low density -something I've read elsewhere that I need? FWIW, a diagnostic analysis of Norton said that my current memory is syncing to 1067 ns.

I have also these two links below for key USB PNY to a Best Buy nearby. The first stick of memory PNY seems to correspond to the Crucial memory card. Is - this low density memory PNY memory? And yet once, can I buy a single stick of 4 GB and add to my current 4 GB stick? This 4 GB PNY stick below which seems to fit the profile of Crucial scan is what I would buy if he tell you it's compatible, because I can buy it at a Best Buy near and easily return it if it does not work:

Thank you for your help and your recommendations!

Hello.  I'll answer my own questions in the last post above.  Fortunately, HP expert Paul Tikanen resolved my questions in a thread with the following response.  Thank you, Mr. Tikkanen!

"The faster the memory will run in your laptop is at 1066 Mhz, which is the speed of the FSB of the i5 - 450 M.

    processor.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/49022/Intel-Core-i5-450M-processor-3M-cache-2_40-GHz?q=%20i5-450M

So, my recommendation would be for you to buy a module of memory 4 GB DDR3 PC3 - 10600 (1333 MHz).

Thus, even the 1333 MHz chip will only work at 1066 MHz.

I had a lot of success with this configuration of brand and the memory chip.

Regardless of the brand you download, make sure he's 8 the little black chips of memory on each side of the Board, not 4.

You are right. Your laptop model can be improved up to 16 GB and you can use the modules of memory 2 x 8 GB with PA5104U-1M8G part number. According to mobile information a slot must be empty, you can add the second 8 GB of RAM.

Is this possible? I went through the HP site, but its no the case clearly stated that if I can update or not.

I have 2 memory slots, 1 slot memory is free right now.

    Hello

You can upgrade a maximum 8 GB (2 x 4 GB Modules).  It is usually best to upgrade using corresponding modules and an appropriate example can be seen at the following link.

If you decide to add an another 4 GB, something like the example in the link below should work fine.

  • Upgrade memory for Pavilion dv7

In October, I bought a Pavilion dv7 (model dv7t-7000) with 16 GB of RAM.  Is it possible to upgrade to 32 GB?  I also want to add an SSD as a second drive.  Is this possible.

    Hello

It's a CTO machine so we can have its specifications.

    1. for the RAM, I think 16 GB is its limit as shown in the following link:

    2. Yes, you can use SSDS on the second span, please watch the following video:

  • Upgrading RAM for the Pavilion P6650z

I had an analysis of the system of crucial.com who said that I have 4 slots for RAM. 2 are empty; 2 have sticks of 2 concerts each - so I currently have 4 gigs. The results of the analyses say that my max is 8 GB. FWIW, there is a Pavilion P6650z, under Windows 7 Home Premium.

I wonder - then - I buy a single 4 GB stick and insert it into one of these 2 empty slots? Or is there a maximum of 2 GB per slot (in which case, I have to buy 2 sticks of 2 GB each, to the max of 8 GB RAM)?

I tried to call customer support HP (sic), but I was bounced from one Department to another because this computer is no longer under warranty, and finally when to transfer me to a person as well, I just got cut. So hopefully someone here can help me out.

  • Pavilion dv6: upgrading RAM for HP Pavilion dv6

    Hello

I want to upgrade the memory of my laptop. It has 4 GB (2x2gb). I want to move to 8 GB or 16 GB, if possible. I found some RAM modules on newegg.com such as this one - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139976 - I wonder if it will be compatible with my laptop. Here are some features of the system:

-Model: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

    -Processor: Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz

    -RAM: 4 GB

    -System type: 64-bit operating system

You do not give us the model exactly but dv6 with processors Intel Core gen 2d max to 8 gigs. 3rd and 4th generation can take 16.

The type of memory that you have linked works perfectly... but not the 2 x 4 GB modules, 8 modules of concert. Also note how the picture shows 8 black blocks on the side of the memory... get the modules like this, not with 4 blocks. The speed is correct. DDR3-1333.  Let us know if you need help most.

  • Upgrading RAM for the Pavilion N011AX

I want to improve my 8 GB RAM. With the one that came with the laptop, the total should be 12 GB. (I checked, there are 2 slots for RAM in this laptop)

My question is, this laptop will accept 4 GB + 8 GB of RAM? Adding RAM is

    Samsung 8 GB DDR3L 1600 PC3L - 12800S 1.35v

This laptop motherboard is HP 216 (with chipset A55/A60M FCH).

    Thanks in advance.

You don't mention the name of the full model (Pavilion 15 / Pavilion 14).
Anyway, the two would support up to 12 GB (8 GB + 4 GB) with the configuration that you mentioned.

You can go ahead with the purchase.

I have to mention that adding another 4 GB with the same config would give you the advantage of boost dual-channel.

  • Pavilion g6-2235tx Notebook: upgrade of RAM for Pavilion g6-2235tx laptop

R & M for this laptop Guide said a max of 8G of RAM more 2 slots i.e. max of 4G / slot and DDR3 - 1600 MHz dual channel support for a next generation processor Intel Core.

Processor = Intel Core i7-3632QM processor (2.2 GHz, turbo SC up to 3.1 GHz, 1600 MHz/6 MB cache L3, quad core, 35W and record 2 channels memory max

    My current RAM is Ramaxel 4 G 2rx8 PC3 - 12800S 11-11 - 1f (East DDR3 up to 1.5V)

My question is, as the current RAM is 2 channels (2sx8) can the RAM in the second slot (to go to 8g) be 2 channels or what I need to remove the current RAM and replace it with two new modules of memory RAM of 1 channel (1sx8)?  If this is the case can I used DDR3L (1.35v), which is also a processor specification, instead of DDR3?

    Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can use DDR3L since you have the 3rd generation of processor. Here is the Manual:

    Repair manuals

You certainly don't want to mix high and low tension RAM. If you plan to install 2 modules, you want them to be the same density (number of rows) and, ideally, you want them to be identical.

    So I'd get 2 x 4 gig DDR3L-1600 modules.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

Info memory support are in Chapter 1, page 1.

Max RAM 2 x 4 Go PC3-1333 (PC3-10600) is.  You can install PC3-12800, but as see you in the manual it will only work at 1333 MHz because that is the maximum speed of the any of the installed processors.

A single chip of 8 GB not working, leave the two alone.
