  Hello, I recently got a "pny nvidia geforce gtx 750 1 GB ddr5' and I tried to install it and I heard a sound of beeping 3 times and got a black screen, indicating the model number of gpu and I went on the web to see solutions. I tried many of them but two, one is to buy a new motherboard and other is install the latest driver for bios. I had no money, so I went with a bios update. As I tried to update I got an error message "253" Please help. my pc specs "hp Pavilion slimline 1224, UC-i3-3240 upgraded, gpu no, 1 TB hdd, 6 GB of ram."

  Assuming that you mean that you have a desktop HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1224, there is no update BIOS in the WIndows 7 section of the page of drivers of desktop HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1224. The error you get indicates that the update is not for the version of the BIOS of motherboard and base of your computer.

  Again, it is likely that the video cards, you tried are incompatible with the motherboard of your computer. In addition, power supply factory is only rated at 220 watts and is unlikely to properly feed a 750 GTX graphics card that requires power system rated at 400 watts or greater.

• Portege Z835 - need help with BIOS update

  Hello.

  I have a Portege Z835, with a battery problem: do not load. The battery indicator says "3% connected load" but it doesn't load the battery.

  Some forums said that the solution is updating the Bios. I have a Bios Update v.1.60 ready to install. When I try to install, we get the message "the battery power is not enough.

  My power cord is still connected. If I unplug the power cord, the laptop is turned off.

  Please, what can I do?

  To be honest I don't think it's the related issue of the BIOS. AFAIK battery must be charged, even if the laptop is turned OFF so why BIOS update if the battery can not be charged at all.

  To me that sounds like hardware related issue.

  How old is your Portege?
  Warranty is still valid?

  Maybe you should contact Toshiba service and ask for help or even their opinion.

  If I understand this problem started after the BIOS update. Maybe you used a bad BIOS or something went wrong during the BIOS update process.

• Pavilion 15: Help with BIOS?

  I have a HP Pavilion 15 I've upgraded to Windows 10 fairly recently, and I put about to disable function keys shortcuts so that they can be used in games.  Not sure how to do this, I searched and I was told that I had to open the BIOS at startup and change the settings there.  I know how to do it on Windows 7 but it doesn't seem to be a way to open the BIOS at startup with windows 10.  Could someone tell me how to access the BIOS, or how to disable shortcuts the function in a different way?

  You should be able to access the Bios Menu as follows.

  Shut down the laptop.

  Click next to the ESC key as soon as you start Notepad to open the Start Menu, then choose f10 to open the Bios Menu.

  Dear community, I have a HP Elitebook 8730w and I forgot the BIOS password. I tried everything I could remember, I slept several days above to remind him, but I'm lost.   Insert a clean USB flash drive.

  Then run USB Image tool.

  Choose the flash drive, and then click RESTORE.

  Remove the flash drive after the restore.

  Insert a locked in a portable flash drive and boot. "If the HARD drive is installed remove before start".

  At C:\OUTPUT, type CD...   "And then press ENTER.

  HPBR of type "and then press ENTER.

  First thing is to save your settings.

  Select 3 # re-program.

  Press "S" to save the system information.

  Type HPBR and press ENTER.

  Select 'of FIRST BROADCAST.

  Then select the model.

  After the restart to repeat, same as above but this time SELECT 'SECOND RUN.

  Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

   

   

  Restore point:

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

  Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

  Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1^st in the boot order.

  Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

  When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

  Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

  Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

  Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

  I want to turn my system performance down to test something, you see a game was crashing constantly, and their tech support says I'm serger my CPU and RAM, I went into the bios and set default by pressing f10 or whatever key is in the corner it says to change the default settings the computer resets, then stop reset once again but nothing has changed, I want to lower my CPU and RAM speed to see if this helps out there but when I Googled it I can find are sites that tell you how to increase your speed. support for the game wouldn't tell me how to do this, they said to ask you how to change the settings to their normal values
