Hexadecimal string to numeric value

Hello

I have a really (I think) a fundamental problem of trying to convert between a hexadecimal number to a 'digital constant' value so I can calculate certain things.

The situation is: I'm able, a VISA series, a distance of an ultrasonic sensor reading. His current reading in an "indicator of string" ordinary put to a hexadecimal display. About 50 cm from distance with the ultrasonic at a wall sensor, I can measure "0032" as my display hex - what is optimal, 32 in hexadecimal is 50.

However, my problem is, how do I now go to the conversion of this 0032 in hexadecimal in a usable digital/decimal numbers?

Thanks heaps for you help.

Nick.

  • How to connect the value of the input string to numeric values

    Hello

    I'm trying to figure out how to connect the value of unique user input string to numeric values. Basically I want the user to enter the name of a gas that I have a list for (I think I put the list of gases in a table >). Then I want to match numeric values 2 'a' and 'b', according to which gas, name of the user has set. These 'a' and 'b' values will be automatically matched with the name of the gas in a list that I put. For example, hydrogen gas has the value 3 for "a" and 4 for "b. when the user puts the ' hydrogen' name in a string constant, automatically 'a' and 'b' must be issued.» I have connect a and b to a formula

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    It is perhaps not exactly what you are looking for, but perhaps you could use the enumerated data type and the array of clusters of points (a, b).

    Look at the VI I enclose.

  • Strings, the formula = numeric values?

    is there a way of having a cell to display a string numbers, but when this cell is referenced in a formula it will be used as a numerical value? See screenshot.

    I want the storage capacity label.

    I want the strings displayed in column A to represent numeric values in column B.

    then "128 GB" = 0.13. or "128 GB" = B2. I need a cell to associate it with the value of the other.

    My goal is to make a column of pop-ups with storage capacities that can be used in a formula in another table.

    If you choose "128 GB" I want its value to be 0.13

    I prefer to use a table of choice like that.

    (1) create a table (as you have) that contains the list of text and the corresponding values

    I named the 'TaillePour Value' table

    In the table where you want to use, use the following formula:

    C2 = SIERREUR (IF (VLOOKUP (B2, TaillePour Value::A:B, 2, 0) = 0, ' ", VLOOKUP (B2, TaillePour Value::A:B, 2, 0))," ")

    It's shorthand dethrone select cell C2, then type (or copy and paste it here) the formula:

    = SIERREUR (IF (VLOOKUP (B2, TaillePour Value::A:B, 2, 0) = 0, ' ", VLOOKUP (B2, TaillePour Value::A:B, 2, 0))," ")

    Select cell C2, copy

    Select cells C2 at the end of the C column, paste (or as needed)

    Hello

    The short answer is no. Essbase calc language does not provide a function for number of string converstion.

    However, you can download the cdf JgetString and use it. It works very well for things like this.

    In the future, please your postal code in the code {{code} tags. Code not formatted is a puzzle to play

  • Converts a hexadecimal string to ASCII by VBAI

    Good day, experts, OR the

    I would like to ask for help on the stage of the VBAI calculator. Is there a way I could convert a hexadecimal string to ASCII character? For example 25 (Hex) to %(ASCII) or, if not in the calculator to other methods? I'll have to send data via TCP/IP later.

    Thank you very much
    Andrei K.

    Now I understand what you want. You can actually do from TCP step. First of all, you need get the length of the string in a digital as you did in step of the calculator, but then you can send this digital as a hexadecimal string of ascii to TCP step. To do this, have the length of the string as a numeric result in the return of calculator. In the TCP step, add a "Write" command and insert a result. Select the digital output of the step of the calculator and U8 of the data format. You can use the display/Hex Normal display to view the data that will be sent, and when displaying normal view, you can see that it is a '%' value when length is 37. See the attached screenshot to see how I did it.

    Hope this helps,

    Brad

    Hi ddehn,

    The SQL_... orders () are the old method for DIAdem to connect to SQL databases, using the ODBC approach.  Since the tiara 10.2 the ADO approach is the recommended method.  This is the function that I used to use to make sense of the values SQL_ColType():

    Function GetODBColTypes()
    Dim j, jMax, ChTypes
    jMax = SQL_ResultCols
    < 1="" then="" jmax="">
    ReDim ChTypes (jMax)
    FOR j = 1 TO jMax
    IF SQL_ColType (j) = 93 THEN
    ChTypes (j) = "DateTime".
    Else if SQL_ColType = - 1 OR SQL_ColType (j) (j) > 8 THEN ' STRING
    ChTypes (j) = "String".
    ON THE OTHER
    ChTypes (j) = 'number '.
    END IF ' SQL_ColType (j)
    NEXT ' j
    GetODBColTypes = ChTypes
    End Function ' GetODBColTypes()

  • How to find the bytes in hexadecimal string start

    Hi, I'm a freshman for Labview.

    I want to find the beginning bytes in Hex string. For example, 12 1A 00 34 1A 01 23... How can I get my data of 3 bytes of the hexadecimal string which starts at 1 'a '?

    Thank you for your help.

    You will need to provide more information. You have a string that has values of bytes like this? In other words, you have the control/indicator string value "hex display mode", and that you have provided, that's what you have? Or, you have the string in normal view?

    If it is in hexadecimal display mode, then use one of the functions of the chain to get a subset of the string. Have you looked in the channel palette?

    If it is in normal display mode, then you must convert all 2 characters to hex values.

    To learn more about LabVIEW, it is recommended that you go through the tutorials and look over the material in tutorials the NI Developer Zone Learning Center , which provides links to other materials and other. You can also take a course online for free.

  • The hexadecimal string to decimal content content

    I write a code in LabVIEW to convert MBus data for some energy meters.

    Apparently the meter that I use sends the data as a string in hexadecimal format, however after correctly parking that string in hexadecimal format, the real value is the decimal number in this hexadecimal string without conversion.

    Example:

    -Response of the meter (String in hexadecimal display):

    68 37 37 68 08 07 72 89 12 13 67 A7 32 04 04 00 00 00 00 0C 06 09 58 02 00 0C 14 39 13 79 00 0B 2D 47 00 00 0 B 3 B A 30 32 00 5-0 HAS 81 03 0A 5TH 68 0 A 03 62 13 00 0F 21 04 00 00 20 86 16

    -After parking, I get 22 bytes to 25 (09 58 02 00) in the right order, i.e. 09 58 00 02 meaning 25 809 MWh.

    This means that I need to transfer sort the string in hexadecimal numbers to display a decimal format and divede by 1000 to get the correct value in MWh.

    I tried to use the Type Cast and Conversion of string without success. Can someone please help me find a solution?

    Best regards.

    How's this for simplified?

  • Where can I find the numerical value for GenICam standard pixel formats?

    I am putting in place a structure of case for the reconstruction of image formats using the pixel as IMAQdx output format. Confirmed the consistent property of 'Pixel Format' numeric U32 in id IMAQdx from camera to camera, but it's just a number, and I don't see that the number of image formats used by the cameras I (I need code for other formats I've yet to see). The GenICam standard 1.1 supports 52 image formats, and no doubt IMAQdx has a corresponding U32 value for each format. Where can I find this list? The .pdf for the GenICam standard lists the formats available in name only and does not have a corresponding numerical value.

    Hey Nasgul

    The attribute 'PixelFormat' is actually a list of name/value pairs. For GenICam cameras (such as GigE Vision) these names and these values are determined by the camera, no IMAQdx XML file. The names themselves are normalized by the part of the "Standard feature Naming Convention" of GenICam (but aren't their values).

    I think you speak for the Format of Pixel property node. I think you are right that it is a digital. It's probably because the available modes can not be known before you actually run the code and the LabVIEW enumeration values must be known when editing, no compilation. The node itself as a digital is probably as a relic of the firewire interface. It would be probably more useful as a string, I imagine.

    You probably want to use the generic way of manipulating the attributes instead. You initially set the property 'Attribute Active' in 'PixelFormat' and then you can then query a list of name/value pairs available or simply set the value. IMAQdx allows you to set the value directly as a string (using the standard names) rather than having to translate it into a numeric value.

  • create a hexadecimal string

    I want to send a hexadecimal string to a device.

    0000 0000 0006 0103 2 0001 07D

    If I send the string as written above, I get the expected response.

    2 07D is a register number and I would like the user to be able to choose the register. I created this code to see if I could insert the hex string required in the full string. (Note that string constants are in hexadecimal display)

    It works very well, producing the correct hexadecimal string, 0000 0000 0006 0103 2 0001 07D.  I send the string and the device reacts as expected.

    Since I want the user to be able to choose the registry I created a mechanism for it and replaced the constant substring (07D 2) with this code.

    (Note that the value entered in the D - Reg control no. 2003)

    Although the conversion of a hexadecimal string of product 07D I16 control 2, replace the hexagonal result string of the function subset string produces this, 0000 0000 0006 0103 3037 4432 0001.

    Can anyone offer advice or perhaps suggest another method?

    Thank you.

    John.

    First of all, when the formatting strings, you're better off the coast using the Vi of string marker rather than replace elements in a string. However, in this case your string format is retrungin you the representation of ASCII number and, therefore, you get an incorrect value in the output string. What you need to do is to replace the bytes of the string with the actual binary data, not the ASCII representation. One way to do this is to simply flatten the number to a string, then replace the bytes. You can also convert the number as well, and then replace the data. Here is an example.

  • remove the two zeros of hexadecimal string

    I'm passing an ASCII string of bench to a VI I wrote and I start with "04" and my VI the ASCII get normal "04".  I then have to convert an ASCII string to a Hex string (using a solution of VI, which I found on the web) and instead, having it display Hex '04', it adds two zeros in the Hex display "0004".  I need to remove the two zeroes don't is just "04".  I don't know there is probably an obvious solution (I'm fairly new to LabVIEW). Thank you

    A statement of format for a cast of just wiring operation confuses the programmer. Don't, don't. The value is not important as the type. (.. .and if you want a string, you can't even wire type.) String is the default!)

    What is the representation of the blue zero constant wired scheme down to the left of "hexadecimal string to munber '? Make sure it's U8.

    Please join the real VI, many things cannot determine in a single image. Thank you!

  • Can I use a hexadecimal string with a case statement?

    Simple question:

    Can I enter a hexadecimal string to a case statement and have the case statement see it as hex?

    I understand that I could convert the hexadecimal string to a number and then enter the hexadecimal number to the case statement but I am curious to know if I could have the case see the string itself as hex without this added feature.

    Would be nice to not have to convert all my numbers throughout my code strings

    Thank you

    -Eric

    How long are the strings? Since you mention convert in numbers, they are probably short and all of same length.

    Are there different possible channels how?

    Case header includes \-codes in the case of a label deal selector As string, so that should be enough for your use. For example this code turns the LED (.. .so that a simple string of "\00\00" of wiring would not be!)

    (See also the last sentence of the "enumerated values" section of the help).

  • Hexadecimal string with UDP sending

    I'm creating a hexadecimal string that I want to send with UDP. UDP converts data to ASCII (i.e. (0x00) is sent as 31 31)

    UDP does not have such a thing. Are you sure that it is not you who "Converts the data to ASCII? My guess is that you have control of the string to display instead of hexadecimal display, and when you enter "00" you enter the characters '0', '0', rather than the value 0, 0.
