  I prefer to use this area of the screen to view the document; I don't really use the tools in this pane, but I deselect the component manually everytime I open Acrobat Reader. I would rather enable it only when I need it.

  I can't find a setting to change it and I can't find anything in the FAQ or in a Google search for this version.

  Please, open a document and close the tool on right pane manually.

  Then navigate to the Edit menu > Preferences > Documents and uncheck the option "Open tools for each document page.

  

  Click OK to save the settings and restart the Reader app.

The download can be an "executable" who writes a disk for you. It can be also something like a zip file with all files inside that must be extracted and copied to a floppy disk.

  If your PC is not a floppy drive, life becomes quite complicated.
