  • DVD-RAM on Qosmio G25 (AV513) does not work correctly

    Hi guys,.

My G25 has crashed and I restored it using the original restore CD supplied with the machine, but after the installation of the DVD-ROM (Mat * a dvd - ram UJ-845 s) did not appear in the windows XP media center SP2 and in Device Manager.

It appears with a yellow (!) I tried to install the driver on the site, but there are "device not connected".
I tried the DVD via the Qosmio player and it worked does someone has an idea how make it work on windows again?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

have you tried to remove the drive from the "Device Manager" and reinstall completely? Normally windows should install then device and shouldn´t you need all the drivers, especially for the DVD-RAM.
So, if it is not already done, remove it and try it.

  • Carpet * a DVD - RAM in Satellite A100 drive does not work properly

When I insert any type of disc, the drive lights up, but the system cannot access anything on the disc. I tried all the fixes that were shown in the forums, but nothing works. The message I get is: D: / is not accessible. I/o device error. Oddly enough the only disc it reads without any problems is the recovery disk. Unfortunately, a system recovery didn't solve the problem.

    Hello

If you're still guaranteed then it would be necessary in your case bring/send your machine to a local toshiba for a hardwarecheckup servicepartner. But even if Don t you out of warranty you should do it because your questions sounds like a hardware failure.

If you need help finding a service partner so I can give you a link where you can find one that is closest:

I have a HL-DT-ST DVD - RAM GH40L SCSI CdRom that do not work. Device Manager indicates "a driver (service) for this device has been disabled. Now, the drive does not at all.  Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I can't get any DVD or CD to run on my PC now.

    Hello

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    Hope these helps.

  • This device cannot start. (Code 10). Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA device not found.

The operating system does not detect the Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA device on my Toshiba Satellite. I tried Microsoft Auto difficulty and it didn't fix it. The CD player worked last week when I installed ITunes software. Now, the driver cannot be detected. Known corrections or suggestions?

You must uninstall, then reboot and let the program installation is the device when it restarts. If the correct drivers are found, it will install. In case of failure, it's probably because Search Setup default is files of the user and not the C:\windows\inf or directories c:\windows\system32\drivers\, which you can specify by choosing to install from a list or specific location, and then by typing or by going to the it. If this fails, check the bios settings.  But most likely your original driver was silently replaced, by a program system file or a third-party application. If need be, you can try a system restore to return the parameters of your system to a point in time where everything worked. I would try one more point to restore and not a newer version, preferably a restore point launched machine, not one caused by installing or removing a program or a driver. Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

I see that you are facing problems with DVD player.

    1. When you say "drive of DVD (F) is an a Toshiba" is an external drive or internal?
    2. Are what fixit you referring?

You can try the steps from the following link and check if this solves the problem of DVD player:

Note: section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Qosmio X 875 - ECO mode does not work immediately after Win 8 upgrade

I used the upgrade Toshiba Upgrade Wizard to Win 8. He succeeded well uninstall the incompatible software before the upgrade and install the new Toshiba and driver versions after the upgrade.

I activated the ECO mode, and to my surprise, it does not work as before (in Windows 7):

    * Now, it works with the brightness to level 1 *... very dark. Before, ECO mode allowed me to go up to level 4 and was always considered in Eco mode...

If I increase the brightness, the 'eco mode is disabled' message opens immediately.

How to contact Toshiba to inform them of this problem and the other problem I found with the new BIOS?

    BTW, I am owner of a Qosmio X 875

Contact your Toshiba authorized service provider in your country.

    Read this:

    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ2503AT0000R01.htm

    > It changes the brightness of the display of level 4, changes the brightness of the grey screen of level 1 (* 4),.
_The * 4 means only on models with Windows7 installed _

I guess that the previous configuration was only Win 7.

8 win was made for mobile (use of the Tablet), the energy consumption of battery is also very important plant help to win 8. The consumption of the battery must be taken at the lowest level possible.
So I guess that now help win 8 ECO medium mode and save the power max and long battery life time working at a max level.

  • Satellite A20 - 103 - DVD - RW new SD-R6572M player does not work

Hi, I have a laptop Toshiba SA20-S103. I decided to change my combo drive DVD - RW drive, so I bought the Toshiba DVD - RW SD-R6572M drive with LightScribe technology. Unfortunately, it doesn't work! When I put my new DVD - RW drive in the laptop it doesn't start t! It also doesn t start if there is no drive inside the laptop (no HARD disk activity)! I put my old combo drive and the laptop works properly.
What should I do to make them work together? The BIOS updates are required?
I think it's strange, but my BIOS is really simple, that I can't change anything. I'm only able to choose laptop startup disk (press F12).

    Marek

    Hello

Well, it seems that you have purchased a DVD player is not compatible. Not all readers are supported on this notebook because of the assignment of pins.
In this case that I n t think that the BIOS update will solve this problem. But you can try it.
You should always check compatibility before you buy laptop computer parts.

There is a good chance that you need to install a
multimedia player that supports DVD playback.

Maybe the free VLC Media Player
    be worth trying:

  • Sat 1900 - CD/DVD drive does not work properly. How to solve this?

    Hello :-)

    I have a Toshiba Satellite 1900, bought in 2003. It has a cd/dvd drive called MAST * UJDA720.

For the last 3-4 months he was not working properly with movie DVDs. whenever a movie starts, it does not work smoothly, but in stop-and-go. First of all, I had everything again and it works fine, but lately, he never runs well and some DVD doesn't work well at all. Excuse me it I do not explain, I don't have the words in English.

But maybe someone understands me and can help. My DVD player is dirty? Is there something like a standard CD? Or do I have to give the laptop to a repair shop?

Thank you in advance, I would like to have my DVD player, back to normal - especially as I don't have a TV.

    concerning
    Kimbazulu

    Hello, Kerstin

If you can watch the DVD on the unit I don't think the drive is defective. I have the same unit and still work well. Stop and go while playing DVDs can be caused due to the high utilization of the processor.

Please try to start the Task Manager and check all running processes. All unnecessary processes can be stopped and on this way, the CPU will go to a lower level. If the antivir software is installed on your unit checking if this software analyzes the HARD disk and stop it.

These things together can be responsible for stop and go while playing DVD movies.

    Good bye

  • On the Satellite L650-12Z DVD player does not work

(this is posted on the US forums who sent me here)

    Hello.

I have a bit of a problem with my portable DVD player. If I put a DVD in there, he turns and runs for 2 minutes, but he made nothing read (read: I do not hear the lens engine).

Now, in this age of digital distribution, it is less a problem then it used to be, but it is still a bit boring.
It is also not a question relating to the OS because when I try to boot from a DVD of Windows 7 it also does not work.

It is out of warranty, so I can't send it to cost me money.

    Thanks in advance.

It looks like a hardware problem of the optic disc.
In some cases it is only a matter of laser lenses, could you fix this by cleaning up that part.

I cleaned the lens laser alcohol or cotton tip.
Some people recommended this and in my case it helped also.

Of course, this could be a solution only in case your laser lens is dirty.
