Hide Slide intro

I want to show the slide Intro (which is the 1st slide), but do NOT show it again once he plays.

I was trying to "Hide the slide" (the Intro slide), but when I select 'Hide' within the tip Action it does not list as an object to hide slides.

How would accomplish hiding the intro slide after he plays only once?

It is possible with a tip action on enter to the Intro slide as well. I used this approach in:

Limit the examination to the wrong answers (Captivate 6) - Captivate blog

When the user presses the slide video right after the Intro slide, the playhead to reintegrate this intro slide. This could be a workflow:

  • create a v_intro variable user, with the default value 0
  • create a conditional action advanced (or shared) to be triggered on Enter to the Intro slide with two decisions
    1. IF v_intro is greater than 0
      Go to the next slide
      ON THE OTHER
      Continue
    2. Increase v_intro

The sequence is important of course

  • Some options not available on slide intro

    Hello

VERY new to Captivate so please be gentle with me. Ok.. I started a new project. on the first slide (intro) I want users to enter the details of their name and login (student number). I do this to secure the site and so that eventually - when I'm working how - details will be entered to the LMS (moodle). However, the option of text entry box and other things like buttons are unavailable for inclusion - they are greyed out. Is there a setting I need to change to the slide or anything else I should do to make available?

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the forum,

It helps if you say that the Captivate version you are using.

And I think that at the moment you are working on a master slide, not on a regular blade. Text entry boxes are not possible on master slides. Check the Master slide panel: is one slide masters it surrounded by a thick line? If you work on a normal blade, it would be marked the same way in the film (vertical, anchored on the left side next to the toolbar in the classic workspace).

  • Hide Slide

I hid a slide at the end of the project and the need to see slide to 100%. I wonder if I need to complete the last slide and then wait a few seconds to the hidden slide complete this program.

A hidden slide will not present in the published file, not worth

    on that.

  • Group 'Hide' slide from washer-PlayBar

    Hello

I have a bunch of slides at the end of my project that should be considered only links within other slides.

The problem is the playback bar provide access to the entire project.

Say that my project is 20 long slide. Only, you should be able to rub through slides 1-10. As you can take individual slides from ToC.

The icing on the cake would be that these 'secondary' slides would have read custom bars (you can view 11-15, 16 and 17, 18-20 in a row).

Hope that's clear, but I'm afraid that this is not possible at all.

    Thank you.

You can hide these slides 6-10 in the table of contents by clearing the checkboxes under the icon "eye" for these slides. This is not possible with the playback bar. You can't make two types of slides.

  • Hide Slide widget on question slides

    Captivate v5.5

I have the slide number widget on my first slide, the value to display for the project - which works very well.

However, I have a series of question slides toward the end of the project on which I posted 'Question 1 of 10 etc'.

In these issues, I would stop the number of the slide (of the widget) being seen and then reappear again a few final slides.

Is this possible and if yes, how would you please?

    Noel

    Hi Noel,

No problem on CP5.5. Here are the steps:

    1. On the first slide of the issue, in the face of the drawer properties go to the accordion in Action
    2. On enter (slide) select hide, then choose the label of the widget
    3. On the first slide where you want to display the widget repeat once again, this
    4. but now, choose display and choose the label of the widget

It would have been a problem in 5.0 because you could hide the widget, but not show it again on a later slide.

Of course, the numbering will continue all in hiding, is this OK? So if you have 7 slides and widget is hidden on slides 3-5, on slide 6 it will show 6 out of 7.

  • Sometimes I have to jump slide playing of my presentation. How can I manage to do it?

Slide jump all by playing the presentation.

Type the number of the slide on the keyboard, and then press ENTER.  So, if you're showing slide 20 and you want to hide slide 21, 22 press then enter.

  • DPS: How to redirect after form submission at the 1st slide

In the document InDesign DPS that I create, I have an HTML overlay on the last slide I want to redirect to the first slide intro, once it is filled.

Is it possible to automatically redirect to the first slide after delay for some time of inactivity? Need a quick answer!

In your HTML code, you can use a navto: / / URL to go to the first page of the article: navto://relative/current#first should work. You will need to find a way to invoke this URL in your HTML well.

  • Jump to Slide not systematically work on master in CP6

    Hey everybody!

I've read a few threads, but no I do not know where to start.  I have CP6.

I have a CBT with demo mode and practice mode.

    -Slide intro

-slide cover for the demo mode

-content demo mode (no click boxes.  includes narrative)

slide cover for the mode of practice

-content practice mode (box click on each slide.  includes narrative)

I added a SmartShape for model of slides that are to be delivered at the beginning of the demo mode or practice mode.

Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.  This happens in BOTH sections of the demo mode or practice.

Where should I start in troubleshooting?

I'm tempted to simply use the table of contents and do not use the model slides shortcut icons.  However, they look really cool!

When you choose "Display for the rest of the project" do not forget to check the option "Place of object on top! I forgot to point to my blog on the use of the form buttons (or the webinar I gave to their subject).

If you are using Question slides, then you must be careful because the embedded Question slide objects are always on top of the pile, but if your buttons (as I see it) are outside the area of question objects, no problem.

  • Import audio data across multiple slides (not all)?

Is it possible to attach audio to multiple slides (not all) as described? If so, how?

Slide 1: no audio; text communicates that this module will have audio, so the viewer must prepare by plugging in the headphones. Click the start video button when you're ready. Goes to the next slide.

Slide 2: Audio Music begins (object) and audio narration between a few seconds later, registered to the slide. Slide Intro ends, audio fades.

    Slide 3-30

Each slide has voice told to drag. I would add a SECOND file of music playing in the background to all slides #3-20.

Slide 21-23: original music played on these blades, each with voice told at bottom.

    Thank you very much.

    What version?

Some ideas: music for the file, stop on the slides 1-2 and 21-23 background.

VO as slide auido on slides where wanted.

For slide 2: audio object that can play alongside the original Version (see http://blog.lilybiri.com/audio-objects-control-them)

For slide 21-23: audio object with the object displayed for the rest of the project and hidden at the entrance to slide 24

  • Keep Score in a threatened way?

So, I want to set up some sort of compromise like game in Captivate. So far, I think I can accomplish this with advanced actions. However, I don't know exactly how to use the advanced actions to permanently keep a total of twenty.

So basically, I'll have a slide main base which will contain the game board and figures (e.g., tools for 400), will basically be buttons that will of course be Yes. Selecting them will send you a survey/questionnaire slide. I would like to do, with advanced actions, a text box in the main slide only when a correct answer is given on a quiz slide, which number they won is added to this box on the master slide.  I hope that makes sense.

Also, if anyone has an idea how to make a Quiz slide become only an element of a regular shift so that I can show/hide it instead to send the user to a new slide would be great also. If nothing works, I guess I'll make a thing of flash, but I would do everything in Captivate if possible.

This sounds like the problem of scope of quiz.

Scope of quiz is a concept where once show you the first question of the quiz, you are in the 'framework' of the quiz.  usually you cannot return 'before' the first question of the quiz, if you are looking at it on the film.  You can move everything you want in this scope, but not outside of it until you have finished the quiz.

If you have some sort of slide intro/instruction, add/edit a button "continue".  In the properties panel, go to 'declaration' select "include in quiz", and then uncheck the box "Add to total".

This opens the scope of quiz but not really mark button.

that should fix it.  expected.  do not make promises

PS - a wanted to say adds the button to slide intro/instruction/all before the slide of the game board.

Edit: I was typing my response between your two answers.  Sorry, someone corrupt one of our cp source files original this morning so we are scrambling to try to get it back.  try to type in here and work with my counterpart could make for some confusing constituencies, but the scope of quizzes can still solve the problem scoring.

In the project that I have, sorry I can't attach a screenshot, I have

    Slide 1 - slide intro w / button quiz

Slide 2 - game board with 5 columns of 7 issues each.

Slide 3-24 (still not done) random question pointing to their appropriate question pool slides.

Slide 25 - default marking the slide.

and he did all the things you mention in your original post.  You don't need the question slides randomly I have in 3-24, TI should also work with quiz questions "regularly."

  • Bars, tables of contents and ramifications

I create my first module branching Captivate 8 and I have a few questions...

    1. Is it possible to have separate tables of contents for each branch?
    2. Is there a way to disable the reading and TOC bar on some pages only?

    Thanks in advance.

    Michael

If you want a separate table of contents, you will need to create it yourself, which is not possible with the normal TOC of Captivate. You can hide slides in the TOC, you can group slides and even build on several levels, but that's all.

Yes, you can lock the table of contents, there is already a variable system that you think still has the command Lock table of contents in the list. It is not possible to lock or disable the PlayBar, you can hide it on some slides. Use the event to enter the slide, both for the blocking of OCD or hide PlayBar... You can also hide the table of contents if you want, but this is only possible if the table of contents are overlaid.

  • Adobe Captivate 9 will not publish my project

Anyone has an idea why Captivate will not post my project? I get an error message when I click on "publish".

Please show a screenshot of your error message.

Try experimenting with a copy of your current project, hide slide groups to see if you can then publish.  If it works usually it indicates there is something on one of the hidden slides that prevented the successful publication.  Then you can narrow things down until you find the culprit.

  • Display next button after the SWF file embedded is over

    I have a SWF file (AS3) I'm embedding in Captivate 7.

I have the commands in the file SWF Captivate a pause until the SWF is done playing, then he will resume the Captivate slide at the end of the embedded SWF file.

I would like to be able to trigger the 'Next' button on the blade so that it appears when the SWF file is finished.  I've included a variable 'videoDone' on the blade and the SWF successfully assigns to the variable '1' when it is complete.

So far so good, where I'm having a problem is makes the following button.

Is it possible for me to tell Captivate to show the button next to the SWF embedded? Or is there a way I can add a listener for the Captivate slide as well as when the variable "videoDone = 1" it will show the next button?

I managed to solve the problem by having 2 following buttons

#1 on show/hide slide entry based on the 'videoDone' user variable
#2 placed lower in the timeline panel and looks after the SWF file finishes.

  • HTML5 - accessibility

Hi, has anyone successfully created a program accessible HTML5 in Captivate 8? When I publish on HTML5 and tab, the buttons are not highlighted as they do when published as swf, it is so difficult to see where the focus is.

    Thanks in advance.

    Andy

Ahhh, that's ok--I have found the solution.

Edit > preferences > project > publication settings: uncheck "selection Rectangle hide slide elements in HTML5.

  • Themes with software Simulations

I created a theme in Captivate 8 for projects that I put together for the work.  I'm still essentially show Captivate myself, so I'm kinda stuck right now.  I created a software simulation (demo only).  I have all the slides exhibited the demo with regard to highlight boxes, captions, etc.  I basically want to take slide intro and conclusion of my theme/template and insert them into the simulation of software, but I can't understand how do without having to basically build slides from scratch once again.  Also, I used a free theme and tweaked to create one I want to use.  Ideas/suggestions?  Thank you!

Glad we finally settled it. There is a lot that is not well explained or even not mentioned in the help documentation. I find mostly by trial and error and learned something of this thread. It is always marked unanswered. In case anyone else is looking for a solution to a similar problem, it is a good summary:

When you create a custom theme, which should be used for courses that include slides of simulation software, never remove the master slide empty. That the master is used by the slides of the software simulation, it does not show the default master slide objects. If there is a background in the main slide, it is not used but replaced by the background that is captured. You will see that "project background" is checked, and the backgrounds captured are numbered and are in the library.
