  You can also use this method.

  You do not have a Vista disc that came with the computer to reinstall with, you should have a recovery Partition to do.

  Here is the HP Compaq information on how to use the recovery partition to put your computer in a new State.

  It's not really a taken way in charge to remove only the cancelled or failed updates. These are taken from windows logs and displayed in the history. Steps that Jose post is a way to remove all files in history and will remove all updates as well as a failed/cancelled updates successfully.

• Using HP Pavilion PC TV since 2006/Vista Home Premium, 32-bit

  Need to install the Service Pack 2 update but Service Pack 1 does not appear when I click on 'Properties' to check the version of Windows Vista.  I installed Service Pack 1, and it appears like installed in my journal updates, repeatedly.  However, I don't always get the auto-update to Service Pack 2.  My computer is configured to check for updates every day at 03:00, but it continues to Service Pack 1 as a significant update of the list.  Don't know how to solve this problem.

  I used only 1gig of RAM (2-512 s) but replaced that with 4-1gig sticks about 6 months ago.  I thought that might have something to do with the problem, but does not appear... but my office has never been better/more fast.  Finally, I wanted to upgrade to Windows 7, but can not do without Service Packs, updates.

  There are several Service Packs for various Microsoft software.

  I rely on what it says under properties, but check the number of KB for Service Packs in your update history.

  Here's the advice I give:

  Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

  It will also tell you which SP you have installed.

  Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.

• How to configure a printer LPT when adapted to use a USB Port - Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit

  I have a computer that does not have an LPT port, and the printer that I want to use (EPSON Stylus Color 850) is not a USB Port or Ethernet.  I bought a cable USB2LPT and attempted to get the printer to work.

  My problem seems to be the choice of the port to use.  Here are the steps I followed:

  1. pick "Add a printer" of the control panel. Printers
     2 choose 'Add a local printer' (even if using the USB Port, like when I plugged the USB cable into the computer, I received the message installing driver recognition but not familiar "bong".)
     3 selected "use an existing port.
     4 select "USB001 (virtual printer to USB Port) - it was my best estimate of the long list provided."
     5 choose the EPSON Stylus Color 850 ECP2/PCS.

  The pilot was then installed without error and tried to print a test page which is that hangs without error.

  I deleted the printer then tried to assign the LPT1 port.  No help here either.

  If someone can help me with the installation, so I can get my documents to print I would appreciate it a lot.

  You do not have an LPT port.  When you select the LPT port data are always written him even if your computer does not have the hardware installed to make it work.  It would work if you have installed a parallel PCI Port card.

You can configureAutoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

  Look at the product key shown on the label on the computer.  Which edition of Windows is on the label?  If the label says Home Premium Home Premium dvd is likely a recovery disk only.  So if there is a recovery disk, so it can reinstall a new copy of Home Premium and all reset the status of the plant.  You will lose your programs and data.

  If the Premium family edition dvd is a dvd retail then you may be able to do a repair on-site modernization (aka ' install fix') of Vista Ultimate with it, but please answer these questions first.

  Regarding the parameters of MSE, leave it at the default value, which is not checked unless you want to perform an analysis using the PC for something else. Limit maximum CPU available at MSE (it won't use it all the time during scanning) allows you to continue to use the PC more comfortably. When countered, if an analysis is performed while you also want to do something else, the PC may seem quite insensitive.

  I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit backup to create a backup on an external hard drive files. the disk is almost full, I noticed the backup appears to create a new set of files each time that it will consume a considerable amount of space.  Is it safe to delete old files to free up disk space as current backup do not complete due to lack of space. I don't want to lose all the essential files in the erase process.

  Yes, you can delete the old files, because they are not needed when the new backup is created.
  My suggestion is to set up a backup incremental and will ovewrite the old backups so that you don't have to delete old backups.
