Highway-E dual NIC and MRA Expressway-C

Hi guys,.

I've seen a few threads and crossed a few guides, but still a little confused on implementing MRA on one double NIC Expressway-E.

We have the following text:

ExpC - lan - expe - ASA-Internet

ExpC: LAN1 - 10.1.1.2

Experience: LAN1 - 10.1.1.5
Experience: LAN2 - 10.1.10.10 (Nat'ed 20.20.20.20)

As you can see, I would have only one firewall located between the external port on the experience and the Internet.

Q1:
Since I am on dual NIC, how can I set up the course of ExpC of experience? I'm going to point to the domain name FULL on experience (expe.company.com - 20.20.20.20)? I know that's what Cisco is recommended, if you use single NIC on the experience. Apply to dual NIC too?

Q2:
Which firewall ports must be open between ExpC LAN1 and LAN2 expedition (10.1.10.10)? I take a look at the guides, but was not clear if the ports to be opened were between ExpC LAN1 and LAN2 expedition (10.1.10.10) or ExpC LAN1 and ExpE LAN1 (10.1.1.5)

Thanks in advance

your EXpC must point to the 10.1.1.5 because she has no consciousness of NAT, if you want to point to a FQN then let the EXpC resolve in the internal IP address. 10.1.1.5 double NIC in my opinion are the best set up.

T2, on top of my head (and there is a lot of info about it) between expc and experience: port 7001 for the crossing area, to the IP external expe 10.1.1.5, sip, sip tls, rtp dns etc.

  • Acer Aspire V 11 Touch - Vista drivers dual boot and need

HI - anyone know where I can get drivers Windows Vista 32 bit for the WLAN on the Acer Aspire V 11 Touch? Can dual-boot the software but cannot connect to the internet on Vista.

    Thank you very much.

OK, time to abandon it. Pretty disappointed that, although I can find dualboot the correct drivers (graphics card and wlan) is almost impossible. People always want to dual boot and indeed that's being hit on the head - I can understand why (from the marketing point of view) but it will hurt only M$ in the long term.

If I bought a useful software a few years ago, and he still has the usefulness for me today, so I should be able to run it on my 'modern' computer without needing to downshift the material, which is actually what I need to do.

W8 is true new beginning and W10 will be an improvement, but M$ must:

    1. make virtual machines available for free - currently available (no M$) virtual machines are very limited.

    2. recognize that many users still want to run programs, they ran using XP.

Rant on, and M$, this is a client that is located close to the abandonment of your software.

    Hi Aldo,.

As directed by the PM, I sent you, I genericised the script a bit more, it should be easier to use (no need to the Standard.ps1 file).  Similarly the name of your Center virtual servers don't need to be put in a separate file CSV file is

To avoid having to create credentials files, delete the following lines...

    # Load password credential from encrypted file
    $pass = Get-Content $PassFile | ConvertTo-SecureString
    $user = Get-Content $UserFile
    $cred = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PsCredential($user, $pass)

.. .and replace by (the script will prompt you for the user/pass)...

    $cred = Get-Credential

    Hope this gets you operational.

Note that I found to NIC and driver versions HBA is quite unreliable using this script, that there is a lot of consistency in what is returned by ICM to hardware vendors.  More on the servers I tested with firmware HBA was never available.  A more reliable, but more complex method is to use PowerShell for SSH for your ESX, which has its own problems, but is another approach (when you do audits of system I tend to use both).  See below for more info...

  • Questions to Dual-Boot and Boot

    Hello VMware community and others.

I have a question about VMWare Workstation.

In help, I found something on the Dual-Boot and initiate outside of the virtual machine, but I can't understand this.

So, I have some questions about this.

    1. can you my OS in the Virtual Machine boot VM outside?

    2. If the answer is Yes: how to disable the startup outside of the virtual machine?

    3. If starts outside, can choose the operating system on the host computer?

    Please answer quickly.

    Thanks in advance.

1 Yes - if you have used a physical disk during the installation of the guest
not if you used a regular vmdk

  • Highway-C and highway-E and VCS Expressway

    Hello

    I'm confused by these three

I know that expressway-E is used with Express-C track

Their function is like VCS Expressway? or am I wrong?

Please help to know when to use each one?

Also why use us next to the firewall? What is the average of the crossing of firewall?

Also, when I connect external with Jabber, is there any type of registration with each of them? I see a number taken in charge of registeration of 2500 and 5000 in the VCS Expressway data sheet

    Thank you

    Haitham

    Hi Haitham,

In general, a point of endpoints/client must register for a 'device' so that it can be used as part of a company dial plan. This 'device' could be CUCM or a VCS and will determine if an endpoint/client is used to connect, or how the calls and form, it can be done.

If the endpoint does NOT have one of these devices (CUCM or VCS), it could still be used (for example, a videoconferencing device stand alone), it's just that we do not see within the company structure of appeal. It may not appear in the directories, it cannot give priority to call outside, etc etc. The Jabber client has to register with CUCM either a VCS to make it work at all.

If you use CUCM with a VCS-E, endpoints will record to CUCM. If the endpoints are internal to the company, they apply directly to the CUCM and if are external, then they will be connect via VCS-E and the recording will be dug through CUCM, so still save with CUCM.

VCS-C/e with environment of TMS, endpoints will record VCS - c when internal and again use the VCS-E for tunnel applications from external device to the VCS - C. Depending on how you want to deploy these devices, external devices/clients could actually register directly with VCS-E, but I'm getting ahead of things. Jabber in this environment use of TMS to provide authentication of the user, even if the actual recording takes place on the VCS.

    Does that help?

  • Host with dual NIC, public and private, the installation program

I am trying to set up an environment and I want to just make sure that its security and I'm doing things.

My host mahchine, Windows 7, has two network cards. A single network adapter is behind a firewall, and the other is open to the internet. I wish I had one of my VMware machines to be on the public network adapter. Now I know how to do this in the network Configurator in the workstation. My question is, is that if I connect the public network for vm machine card, my physical host computer will no longer use this card. I'm just afraid to have public network map is open on my host.

Then, is to have a VM machine linked to a NETWORK card, then only allows only not the host machine to not use this NETWORK adapter or is there a way to do it?

    Thanks for any help

Yes, you can do it.  In the properties of the network adapter on the host operating system, disable all protocols, clients, etc. EXCEPT the VMware Bridge Protocol.  Then, VMware can use this device, but the host will not.

  • Keep the highway-VCS-control or switch to Expressway-C/E?

We currently have CUCM 9.1 2, VCS-control (virtual) 8.6 and 8.6 VCS-Expressway (Physics) in our environment. Endpoints are a mixup of SIP and SCCP, Jabber customers phones and EX90 4. Everything had been originally been setup with our EX90 to register for VCS and the pair of VCS to just be there for the EX90 to use (they were quite nice sitting here doing nothing with the little utility that we see in our EX90s).

A few weeks ago, I dug in our configuration to better use our infrastructure and do some things that were never done during the initial implementation of our system of phone two years ago. I have installation MRA on the pair of VCS to allow to our Jabber endpoints to record without VPN, update the EX90 with keys now free option for PR, DD, etc., saved the EX90s to CUCM instead of VCS and update the firmware on the pair of VCS and EX90.

Final update nagging I confusion keep me on is that I should get licenses to convert our VCS-control and highway Highway-C and E or keep as-is. It seems that C/E are the wave of the future with Cisco wanting to check directly to CUCM, so I feel like it's the 'right' thing to do here...

-Without registering on VCS more, I'm better convert Expressway-C/E?

-Did I miss all the features/functionality leaving them alone?

-My 5 traversal licenses will become licenses RMS once converted? (I saw mixed reviews on this and prefer not to spend the extra $750 / piece on them if I can convert my existing licenses).

    Thank you!

    Pete

Not really sure on the migration options to license, but right now that VCS can do everything that expressway can do, and more.  RMS licenses are less expensive than the traversal licenses, so if you plan to expand, it might be cheaper in the future.  Other than that, I don't see no reason to abandon the feature.

  • Why no dual NIC card?

    I have a laptop of 15 t - n200 old HP Pavilion of 4 week which is 8.1 Windows Pro 64-bit.

I also have (and am downgrading) a HP Pavilion DV8 - 1000 CTO.

I was shocked to discover that my old laptop has a dual band NETWORK card and my other does not work!  I was even more shocked to see that HP does not sell the current line of the pavilions with a dual band NETWORK card (I thought I bought one online).

I have 2.4 G and 5G in my house (I need 5G to run the products as my Apple TV with movies stored on an external hard drive).

I tried to get an answer from HP, nothing done, at this point.  I even opened an executive complaint (case No.: 300369376) with a nice boy named Jeff who knows little about the technical aspects of the Wi - Fi.

Can I replace my current map of the NETWORK (from my DV8-1000) interface card in my new TouchSmart 15 t-200?  It's going to be a problem of white list?  Can I install the Intel dual ac 7260HMW card?  Or, I'll buy the NETWORK card that is appropriate, but I need 5G connectivity or else I lost $748.00 on a Clipboard of HP.

I'm practically LIVID that I have could not buy a NIC dual band with my new Pavilion, but was able to do this with my old DV8t of 5 years.  And more that HP did not have that clear during my online purchase.

    Please advise, thank you!

    Hello:

All I can say is try your dv8 card if it's the same form factor half mini card.

HP didn't / don't have the BIOS whitelists certainly to your dv8, but I read a few posts from our forum members who have installed different dual-band cards (I also think that includes the new Board of Directors of Intel cards) in their series notebooks Pavilion 15/17 with no problems at all. I refer to such a post below.

The referenced model is a display model 17 inches of the 15 series and what blew my mind was this material even has the 7260 Intel and AMD worked!

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/HP-17-e016dx-WLAN-upgrade/m-p/3383443#M116640

This leads me to believe that HP may have abandoned this practice.

This is the best I have, or someone else can do to help you with your question.

Please let us know if another wireless card works.

  • Control of VCS and VCS expressway design

I have a problem with the design of control and track Express VCS. Now, here's two VCS control and a highway. As you know, put on the Internet Highway and a control on my seat. At the same time, I want to put the other control on the management of my company which is in another city. Can it work correctly? How dose it work?

You must create two zones on VCS Expressway crossing server and a customer journey area by control VCS.

In other words, you should have a link path by VCS - C connection VCS-E separately.

Please be sure to set different H.323/SIP port on each VCS - C.

    For example:

VCS - C1 (Headquarters): area of traversal client pointing to VCS-E 6001 as port H323 and SIP traversal port 7001.

VCS - C2 (branch): area of traversal client pointing to VCS - E with 6002 as port H323 and SIP traversal port 7002.

VCS-E: a traversal server zone list for VCS - C1 (6001 as port H323 and SIP traversal port 7001) and other traversal server list for VCS - C2 (6002 as port H323 and SIP traversal port 7002)

  • MRA Expressway - C routed false Media

    Hi all

I have install an Expressway (X8.2.2) deployment for Mobile and remote access. Both servers are well experienced, and it is possible to connect with a remote Jabber Client through the Express-E track. The chat works correctly and that telephone Services are configured correctly, too.

Question: When you try to establish a telephone call between a Jabber Client internally and a remote Jabber Client, signaling works, but there is no stream multimedia creation. Highway-E shows under status to call a Session connected with call routed and routed media set to True, but Expressway-C is routed with fake media.

Highway-E Session looks good, showing the way through the TraversalZone and having call connected state and media and routed real appeal.

For the signalig itself, there is a problem, too. When calling internal remotely, it is possible to end the phone call from the internal client, but it times out trying to put an end to the external client. (The call is still open from the Point of view of the internal Client then).

    Issues related to the:

    one)

What is the reason, I can't end calls from the client to the outside, but only from inside one and only if customer inside called the remote client?

    (b)

What is the reason for not being able to establish the media stream? I guess it's related to channel Express-C or the firewall between C and E, but am not sure.

    Configuration:

My setup is a highway-C in the same domain as the CUCM and Server instant messaging & presence, with two settings properly and a TraversalZone work internally with the Expressway-E Interface through a firewall.

Highway-E: two Interfaces in different subnets (static routes are configured for internal traffic from the front) with static NAT is configured on the interface external face to handle the payload. Be connected to the Internet via a FW with static NAT from internal to external IP address.

    Kind regards

    Christoph

    Hi Christoph,

It's normal, you won't see the three components of the call on the highway-E. Regarding UDP packets, are you sure the routes/IP settings are correct on the highway-E? Can you do a ping/traceroute of the highway-E to an IP address on the internet and to ensure that the work and you can see ICMP traffic, leaving the external interface. Test similar to the IP address of the Exp - C and if ensure that traffic leaves inside interface.

Anyone know what the average error?

  • 2 MCU and VCS Expressway, routing problem

    Hi all

We have a design with a group of control VCS (2 members), cluster VCS Expressway (2 members), and a couple of microcontrollers (registred H.323 on VCS control cluster with the same prefix: 90).

Each highway has a public IP address and incoming calls from outside can only be routed to microcontrollers:

    [email protected]/ * / for MCU_1 and [email protected]/ * / for MCU_2 (we don't have external DNS resolution).

    I put a conversion into motorway of VCS to change [email protected]/ * / to [email protected] / * / and [email protected]/ * / to [email protected] / * /.

The problem is when someone calls [email protected]/ * / sometimes (randomly) the call is routed to MCU_2 (instead of MCU_1) and if the appellant see the auto attendant.

The occcurs even then of the appeal [email protected]/ * / (MCU_2), sometimes the call is routed to MCU_1.

Any idea what can cause this device or a way to make it work well?

    Thanks for help.

    José

I think still that separate prefix would work, but here are a few ideas:

Are incoming calls which do not possibly using SIP that is being interoperability H323 or incoming calls all certainly the H323?

If you want to keep pure H323, you could perhaps just have a search rule/turn on your VCS-E who changed [email protected] to an E164 e.g. 90... and had a search on your VCS - C rule that says 90... stop at the local area.

I also noticed that you direct calls to [number]@MCU-IP - have you tried to direct all calls to [number]@VCS-C IP instead?  If the VCS is the holder of a registration for a number, it should be able to deliver accordingly.
