HO Officejet 4500 G510g: scanning software stops on page 2

I am using the HP Solutions Center to scan a document of several pages of B & W text to a PDF file. Whenever I try he abandoned about 1/3 of the way in power page 2 via the document feeder. Error message is «an error has occurred in the scanner software...» "Extended error code: 4, [(3,42,0)].

I restarted the program, rebooted the PC, unplugged the printer, uninstalled the software, the hardware and the downloaded and installed the software of replacement on the HP website. All to nothing does not.

Anyone know of a solution? Right now I have a large printer with a big piece of glass on top. Should have checked all the features out completely and it back to the beginning, but it's MOM and she is 88 and does not need the scanner very often.

Hello

From the HP Solution Center, click on scan a Document, and then click Change settings.

Shlect the PDF shortcut and click Advanced Document settings.

Ensure that the OCR language is defined as English and press OK, then try to scan the image and check for the difference.

If the question remains, try to ensure the DPI settings for the display of the PC are defined as 96 (100%), the software scanning HP does not support other DPI settings and can cause such behavior.

Right-click on an empty area of your desktop and click on personalize.
To the lower left corner, click on the link of the display.
In the left pane, click Custom text size (DPI).
Make sure that the DPI value is set to 100%
Restart your PC

Windows 8.1:
Right-click the background screen area, and then select the screen resolution.
Then click on 'Make text and other items more or less '.
Select "Smaller (100%). ", and then click OK.
"Note: If you see a scale between 'Small' and more ', click on the box next to"Let Me pick the scale of levels for all my views"and select Smaller (100%)

Apply the changes and reboot or re - login required.

Then try to scan and check if there is any difference.

Please let me know if any of the steps above can help.

I have a printer all-in-one Officejet 4500 G510g-m. I tried to install & uninstall several times on A Dell 2.80 core dual processor

with 2.50 GB of memory. With Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Every time he tells me that I can't open the cause of box tool, that it is not connected... Printer, scanner and fax will appear on the control panel. Then, I made a full recovery on my PC and tried to install it again.

It allows to print when you do a copy, page test and wordpad, but not from Windows photo gallery and will not let you check ink levels.

How can I uninstall this thing and get out all the old files and get my right rear register. Also, how can I get this printer to work?

I did a microsoft Fix - it for windows tools, I ran a Revo Uninstall, then I did a disk cleanup.

  • HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m: displacement of fax line dedicated to sharing with phone line.

I have a HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m all-in-One and Windows 7.  Never any problems.  In recent years, I have been fax from a dedicated line, separate from my regular telephone line.   I decided to save money and my phone line fax.  Other that simply move the fax line to a separate socket to the same wall jack as my phone and change the fax number box, is there anything else I should do?  I did not move the phone cord to a different port on the fax - should I?   I already ran a fax test and passed.

    Thanks for any info.

9/29 - I just had a friend try to fax to me.  The phone rang and rang even if I set to 2 rings.  It's never logged and sent a fax.

9/29 again - I have an answering machine.  I changed it to pick up to 4 fires and fax to pick up 6.  I had a friend try to fax, it has not been connected.    He received my faxesbut that I can't get any sound.

Looks like the problem may very well be Vonage. Since I msgd you I found 6 people with the same problem and none of them have been solved. I'll have to give up and return to the dedicated fax.

Thank you very much, Rich for all your help. It was a pleasure to work with you. It's just a pity that all your hard work has not solved the problem. But at least you know if someone else asks you for help with the same problem and they have Vonage, it's hopeless. Laughing out loud

    Bye!

Thanks for letting me know that the printer installed correctly on other computers.

Follow this post from @SuperMario1 to remove the printer files from the registry.

It's a different model, but it provides instructions to dig dip into the registry and get all of the HP software from the system.

  • HP Officejet 4500 G510n Scan via airport utility?

How can I get my HP Officejet 4500 G510n to perform a SCAN using airport utility?

Airport utility is not related to operating an MFP. It there is no scan via airport utility function or any what router airport. That is, the printer must be connected through its network and NO USB connection to the router. What is the Airport base station is the printer is simply a network client. No printer function any is active via the airport.

You must install the drivers HP and the complete software for any OS that you are running on your computer.

It's the HP drivers and software that will allow you to scan over network. Or if NOT, maybe... often scanning on network is problematic.

I would like to work with you today with the resolution of the problem of scan that you encounter when you try to scan from your HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer to your computer Windows 8.1. I understand that when you click on the HP printer Assistant icon you get a screen "install". This indicates that your software is here and ready to work, but your printer is no longer bound to this software. For this reason, I will guide you through the steps for reinstalling your device to fix software problems and the pilot. Please follow the steps below.

    Step 1: Uninstall the drivers:

For the purposes of troubleshooting, it is important that we have a clean slate to work with. So, I'll you delete everything Officejet software and drivers on your computer.

    3. When the programs and features opens a list of the programs installed on your computer will populate. Scroll down the list until your see HP Officejet 8600. Select the HP Officejet device and click Uninstall
    4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation of your product.

Once the Officejet has been uninstalled successfully, please proceed to the next step.

    Step 2: Remove temporary files:

    1. Open the screen, Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard to the right of the Ctrl key
    2. When the splash screen opens, type run. Click on Run to launch the run dialogue box.
    3. In the run box, type %temp% , and then click OK
    4. When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will highlight now.
    5. Select the "delete" button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains the temporary internet files. None of the actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting Temp files. A Temp file should you will automatically get the pop up to 'jump' this point.
    6. Close the Temp folder when it is empty
    7. Right-click the recycling bin on your desktop and select empty recycling bin

    Step 3: Reinstall the drivers:

    1. Please click here to download the latest drivers for your HP Officejet
    2. Once the site opens, please click on the download button at the top left
    3. If you are prompted, please allow the download to run
    4. Once the download is complete, please follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall your printer.

Once your printer is reinstalled successfully, please try scanning and printing to confirm that everything is working properly again. If your printer is unable to install because it is not 'detected' when installing, please let me know how your HP Officejet is connected to your Windows computer (USB, Ethernet cable or wireless).

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

I have a HP Officejet 4500 Wireless and use the Mac OS X operating system 10.5.8,. When I scan photo they open in my preview software. How and where can I change the settings so that they open in Adobe Photoshop?

    Hello

Instead of scanning from the software, try scanning through your app (Adobe PS). The preview should then be given to you by the PS.
