Hold the tab behavior to be same with IE by clicking on the links in the bookmarks toolbar

In IE, when I click on a link to the bookmarks toolbar, it opens this link in the tab in which I am working. In Firefox, however, it always opens a new tab. I'd rather have Firefox behave as it opens a new tab when I've specifically it asked to do so, or when a URL linked to a page that would normally open a new window (in this case I prefer to open a new tab instead - and I found where = that = parameter is but has no effect on my particular problem).

Note: can I asked this before but I either lost the information, or did the change once my system and I forgot about it. I'll put up a portable newly bought after my "old faithful" gave the soul after four years of long and satisfactory service. I will miss greatly.

Hello, Steve.

Normal behavior of Firefox is to open Favorites in the current tab. You may have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, make sure that it's not one of your modules installed, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do this easily and cleanly, start Firefox in safe mode , and then select disable all add-ons. If the problem goes away, you know that it's an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode and allow them one by one until you find the source of the problem. See this article for more information on troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins in the same way.

If you want supported for one of your modules, you will need to contact the author.

don't know what details to tell you, that all important data are written in the question. Thank you.

You have now two folders of Bookmarks Toolbar. One of the installation of Firefox (the main one) and a 2nd file to import a bookmarks.html file.

Find the Bookmarks Toolbar folder that is under the bookmarks Menu folder and copy or drag ' drop these bookmarks in the Bookmarks Toolbar folder that is above the bookmarks Menu folder.

  • Accessibility of the bookmarks toolbar

All the sites I use are ideally set bookmark in the "Personal bar" Firefox for windows.

Ideally it sync with Firefox for Android, but it takes at least 3 specific command sequences to get to the bookmarks toolbar, and then I have to scroll but all records to reach the sites easily accessible in the toolbar bookmarks of Firefox for Windows.

In short, I just don't bother to do and I don't maintain 2 lists of bookmarks.

I understand why we require you to use the bar of "brilliant" by default at startup of Firefox for Android. You have future plans for this and want to train users to go there. I don't want to be trained and you're close to lose my support of myself and maybe a lot.

We should have the possibility to have FF for Android open directly so the Bookmarks Toolbar is visible and it should take a press or less get the same sites that I see in FF for Windows.

You can configure Firefox to open the Favorites as the default view.

The only visible, at least I have the cursor on the icon, the icon itself.

Hmm, I can't imagine an integrated way to display only the icons. Is it possible that one of your modules has changed the display style? You have "Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar"?

You can view your extensions on the addons page and when they have an Options button, change their behavior. Or turn them off. I suggest starting your investigation with those:

Open the page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a

  • How can I change the location of the bookmarks toolbar?

In the new version of Firefox, the bookmarks bar is located in the upper part of the Web pages and covers buttons and links on the pages. Can it be placed above the tabs or the bottom of the page or anywhere, but in all of the current Web page?

The bookmarks toolbar should not interfere with the page at all. It seems you have to many addons including at least another toolbar. It might be that one of those that is causing the problem.

  • How can I move my favorites in the menu bar of the bookmarks toolbar?

Once I upgraded my firefox to version 6, all my favorites that were previously in my bookmarks bar are now in the menu bar and the bookmarks bar appears just with no button. How can I move back to their own bar bookmarks? I would like to hide the menu bar.

    Thank you.

Make sure the bookmarks toolbar is visible and "Bookmarks Toolbar items" are always placed on the bookmarks toolbar.

If the menu bar is hidden, then press F10, or press and hold the ALT key, which should make the "menu bar" appear.

Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible: "view > toolbars".

    • Open the Customize via "view > toolbars > customize" or "Firefox > Options > toolbars" and check the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" are on the personal bar
    • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the bookmarks toolbar, then FRY it in the toolbar palette in the window the bookmarks toolbar Customize
    • If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items which do not appear in the palette of the toolbar or a toolbar, then click on the button "Restore Default Set"
  • When you customize my Toobars button I can't get the bookmark toolbar from the drop down menu to stay, it all disappears just once I close the customization window.

I'm talking about the customizable toolbars button on the right. I opened the window customize, of course the menu bookmark of bown drop-down appears, but there is another bar of bookmarks that I use, which only opens the window on the left on my browser bookmark.

I want the drop-down button, but it disappears all just once I close the toolbar customization window. It never happened on Win 7, but now on Win XP something does not go.

There are two buttons of different bookmarks that are using the same image. The one with the small arrow "drop-marker" to the right of the button is to the drop of bookmarks and by default is on the bookmarks toolbar-, but it appears on the toolbar bookmarks only when the menu bar is hidden and the orange Firefox button is visible. If you have the option to menu bookmarks showing on the Menu bar, this button is superfluous.

The other button bookmarks (without the arrow) starts in the palette to customize and is the one who opens the bookmarks bar.

I'm running version 33.1 and 35.0a2 of Firefox and all I want to do is add some space on the left side of the bookmarks toolbar, but I can't find this option to customize more. Does anyone know how to do this in the new versions? I can't even find additional modules for it.

    Thank you!

Separators and spaces have been removed in versions of Firefox 29. I know that the extension Classic theme restaurateur adds back to Firefox 29 +, but he does not remember having seen other add-ons with this feature.

Press the ALT key, or press F10 to display the Menu bar

  • in 22 and 23.0 upgrate him disappears from the bookmarks toolbar and after crash firefox does not allow for recovery

I hate this new update. I basically can't use the browser more. I only need firefox to do things properly, but if she cannot do these things I can't use it

    1. If firefox crashes (it does every 30 minutes it completely closed), then I need to be able to restore / recover all previously open windows when I start it back up again. There is no more.

    2. I use the bookmarks toolbar all the time, but often it appears completely blank. So now, the only way I can see bookmarks is if I go to options and uncheck bookmarks toolbar option and reselect then toolbar of bookmarks.

It's so frustrating and worse still make you sure you can't do restorations! It of insulting and makes me want to not use your browser. A browser is a tool not criticizing a toy, but you guys will not stop playing with it.

Also, older versions of the extension, meet bugs, you can refresh by using:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons > "gear" button > "Check for Updates".

For example, GM 1.5 (November 2012) vs GM 1.11 (July 2013).

  • Can I add a drop-down list for the bookmarks toolbar?

I would like to have a series of categories of bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar. Let's say a button called "Household" could have a menu drop down menu links to my sites popular for "Home repair," 'Kitchen', 'Furniture finish', etc.

And maybe another button may be labeled "Science" and its menu drop-down can contain links to 'Environment', 'Medicine', 'Space', 'Geology', etc.

And to be really good, each subcategory could have subcategories beneath them.

Create nested folders (folders in folders) on the bookmarks toolbar. You can also do the same thing in the Menu bookmark instead of bookmarks toolbar.

    1. Right-click on the bookmarks toolbar and choose 'new folder '; Name this folder cleaning
    2. Right-click on the case in the toolbar bookmarks for each subfolder you want under household and choose "new folder"; Name these folders (i.e., home repair, kitchen, furniture, etc.)
    3. Drag or create bookmarks in each of these appropriate subfolders to the name of the subfolder.

Repeat the above for another folder/sub-sub-sub-folders (i.e., Science folder under folders, geology, environment, medicine, space, etc.).

  • CCleaner 4.01 corrupts the bookmarks toolbar in FF 20.0.1

When I use ccleaner 4.01 and select download history for Firefox on the Applications tab, which translates to corrupt the bookmarks toolbar: all bookmarks from a certain one (a reference to a local file on this computer) disappear. They are still visible in the section toolbar bookmarks when I display all bookmarks, but bookmarked, they cannot be either deleted or moved. and this bookmark has no properties.

I see only between runs in my tests (vs not corrupt corrupted post-ccleaner) Exchange very few files, and places.sqlite is one of them. Others seem little likely candidates.

I submitted this as a bug in the forum of ccleaner bug, but I wonder if anyone else has experienced it, and if it may be a bug in Firefox. Anyone?

Yes, other users have reported problems after using Ccleaner.

Firefox works fine until it is 'cleaned' - not a Bug in Firefox.

I wonder if Ccleaner has changed their program recently to account for changes that Mozilla has recently made to the filesystem within Firefox.
And if so, users of Ccleaner using the latest version of this program?

BTW, places.sqlite is where are stored the bookmarks and browsing history and recently, download history storage has been added to the file "places".

  • customize the bookmarks toolbar

I had spent time make the perfect, setting up bookmarks bar as I wanted with a mixture of bookmarks, folders and addons. And it worked fine for a day, until all of a sudden (without even closing the browser), everything was just gone. The only thing remaining is the basic "bookmarks" that came with the browser.

Now, I can't add anything to the bookmarks bar. I wanted to start using firefox, but now I'm the Delete instead. This thing is just a fraud.

Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible:

    • Firefox menu button > Options
    • View > toolbars (press F10 to display a hidden menu bar)

Open the window customize to set the toolbar to display items:

    • Firefox menu button > Options
    • View > toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
    • Right click on empty toolbar space
    • Make sure the "bookmarks toolbar items" are on the personal bar
    • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the bookmarks toolbar, then FRY it in the toolbar palette in the window the bookmarks toolbar Customize
