Homegroup works via Ethernet, but not via Wireless

My configuration is:

PC1) Win7 pro Office connected to the wired to NetGear WNR2000 NetGear DG834 router configured as a WAP browser

PC2) Win7 Home Premium on a laptop.

With this config. a residential group created on PC1 can accompanied by PC2 and everything works fine on PC2. However PC1 detects any a computer from homegroup.

Note that all other functions of networking through working groups are very well.

When I disable wireless on PC2 and connect to the DG834 or WNR2000 by ethernet, everything works perfectly.

On the two PCs HomeGroup options are:

Discovery - Network SUITE

Files and printers sharing - SUITE

Sharing with network access - SUITE

Streaming - OFF

encryption 128 - WE

Password - OFF

Windows managed - IT.

------------------------------------------

I do not have any antivirus or third-party firewall. Using the Windows Firewall only.

I tried without wireless security on LAN, as suggested in another post, but it made no difference.

IpV6 is enabled on both computers (have checked the settings registry and services according to the different posts on this forum)

It's extremely frustrating!

A few years later... for the love of someone else with this issue... turns out the driver of my laptop's wireless adapter.

Once I installed the latest driver from the web site of the manufacturer of the adapter, everything is good.

Readers who came via MS update, unfortunately, have never had the correct versions.

  • Work of the Working Group wired, but not with WAG160N wireless

    I have a Vista PC serving a printer shares and give a working group with Vista, XP and OS X machines. The Vista PC is connected to the gateway. They all have the same workgroup name. Features such as printing, hand access and visibility machine works only when the PC client is connected with ethernet cable, not of wireless. On my client Vista, the problem is the same when my IP address is DHCP or static. Any suggestions? It is a quite fundamental problem with wireless connectivity. The gateway is running the version of firmware 1.00.09

    It seems that the problem was with my software firewall of PC server.

    After replacing the WAG160N with another router modem of brand, I still had the problem.

    Disable my firewall deleted the question.

    My firewall appeared to treat differently wired and wireless customers!

    I had to manually enable files and printing, sharing, even if my home network was already defined as approved in the firewall configuration.

  • Satellite L40-15B - WiFi works at home but not at school

    My daughter has satellite worked at home and at school: wifi OK, internet OK. The satellite crashed: hard disk failure. Bought a new hard drive.

    I reset the Satellite via the recovery CD. It is now a new clean system with * Windows Vista home premium *. * Wifi works immediately at home. Internet too, but at school with my daughter, the wifi is NOT working anymore.*
    Laptops from other children at school always work with wifi.

    A college of my work told me his sister had exactly the same problem!

    Help!

    Hello

    If the WIFI connection works at home but not at school it has nothing to do with Toshiba. I think that your daughter should ask the administrator of the school what is the problem. Maybe the WLAN requires a certain configuration of TCP/IP or else I n t he know and I think that no one here can answer this question.

    Is that wireless network card is properly installed and works, because you can access the Internet at home.

    Sorry, but everything that s what I can say.

  • Why did the counter works in MAX, but not of Labview?

    Please help, I've been away from Labview for more than 3 months and I'm pretty rusty...

    Last year, I configured successfully NI9401 to measure the period (in seconds) by counting the rising edges of my sensor signal.  Since then, I bought a new PC and loaded all my software inside, including the Labview VI that has worked successfully on the old computer.

    I can see the digital signal using MAX and test for the NI9401 Panel, then, I know that my son and my TTL signal is OK, but nothing except the below error when I try to run the attached VI, happens...  How can I say this VI to search for the signal on channel 14 and MOD3/CTR0?

    Thank you. I'm sure it's a small adjustment... it worked well a few months ago... do not know what the problem is now.

    Thank you

    OK, now.  Solved the problem. The vi is fine, but some fragile son have been identified... worked in MAX but not in vi.  Now that the connections have been tightened, it works for both.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hello

    It works in IE but not Firefox... I can't understand why... can you help me and see what I did wrong?

    Eternally grateful,

    The biggest problem I see with the page is that there is no defined document type.  This means browsers have to guess what validation to use to guess what effects should arrive.  If you click on edit->-> category title/encoding Page Properties, you must define the Document Type (DTD).  I.e. once set DW will define the type of document for you.  You can then save and re-upload your document and we can see if the same problem persists.

    Hi guys,.

    Thank you very much, Jeckyl, you were right, it seems that only FLASVARS is allowed. Nevertheless, I will try to test if I can pass more than one variable/value less a statement of FLASVARS. For the moment, leaving only a statement of FLASVARS the video works fine with IE and Firefox. I'll do a little cleanup, it is true that my generated HTML code is a bit messy.

    Thanks to WindShadow75 for your answer, now you see it works because I removed the additional declaration of FLASVARS.

    Several guys from tanks, it is appreciated!

  • Client vSphere 5.0 works on network, but not via the SSH tunnel

    Hoping someone can help you.

    Seems that others have this problem as well.

    Can connect to the network, but not through an SSH tunnel.

    On the network, I am invited to accept/ignore a SSL certificate.  This does not happen when trying to connect remotely (via an SSH tunnel).

    During troubleshooting, I port passed almost all the ports TCP, starting w / ports 80, 443 and 902.

    Through the SSH tunnel, via a browser, I can successfully access https://127.0.0.1 (VMware server), but the client software will not complete the connection, w / error message: «...» "The client could not send a request to the server."

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Managed to understand this myself, having invested in a way more time I should have.

    This announcement in the hope that it will help others.

    In your SSH client, port forward with the help of one local loop, IP OTHER THAN 127.0.0.1 (such as 127.0.0.2 for example).

    Port 127.0.0.2:443 before--> IP:443 target

    127.0.0.2:902--> target IP:902

    127.0.0.2:903--> target IP:903

    Hi Twentytwo22 (2),

    Thanks for posting that query you in Microsoft Communities. Provide the following information:

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         You use a third-party security software?

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

    Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

    Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

    Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 3 from the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

    Method 3: Follow the steps in the article.

  • Win XP computer access internet life ethernet, but not recognized on LAN

    Desktop computer Win XP is connected to a local network (via ethernet) and recognized.  Shared files can be exchanged on the local network.  The Win XP computer was temporarily moved to a different location and an installed wireless adapter.  Two weeks later the Win XP computer was returned to the original location, removed wireless adapter and related to the uninstalled software.  Now the Win XP computer accesses the internet (via ethernet), but is not visible on the local network.  Win XP sees no other computers and other computers do not see the Win XP.  Trying to troubleshoot the network.  Troubleshooting the "1394 connection" gave a TCP/IP message has not been activated.  Check the 'properties' found that the 'Internet (TCP/IP) Protocol' is checked.  Is there another place where TCP/IP must be enabled?  Maybe a checkbox?

    Thanks for the help.  Unfortunately, I tried two suggestions, all of the above steps, and nothing has fixed my problem.  However, during the process of going through the steps in the "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308007/en-us", I discovered "Microsoft Fix - it Solution Center".  Treatment of the symptoms of MS Fix - it network provided an instant repair the problem.  I still don't know what exactly was the problem, but now all computers can see each other on the LAN.

  • Can connect to Ethernet, but not on WiFi

    Hello

    I have an Acer Aspire with Vista Home Basic 5735. Had for years. This weekend I decided to clean the laptop; I deleted a bunch of software that I use, with the installation of "Uninstall a program" in the Panel. I then did a disk cleanup, and then use the Disk Defragmenter.
    Now I can't connect to the internet via WiFi. I usually just turn on the laptop and it connects to my router. My router and the provider are unchanged for a few years now. Although when I click on "Connect To", it shows that I am connected, but with limited access. Limited access is actually no access, given that I can't open Chrome or any other software that requires a connection.
    I know that the router is fine, because my second laptop, a laptop, works great today by the VPN over WiFi, as he always does.
    I plugged in an ethernet cable, and with that I can get on the internet. I went through all the tips I've found - checking drivers corrupt, do a Windows Update, restart (several times), running the network on the network diagnostics, but nothing helped.
    I assume that in the weekend cleaning, I must have deleted a vital file. Any suggestions for how I can restore WiFi ability?
    Thank you

    Hi, Simon,.

    Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on command prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.
    In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:
    Restore the default install WINSOCK entries: netsh winsock reset catalog
    Reset the battery TCP/IP IPv4 default installation. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
    Reset the battery TCP/IP IPv6 default installation. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
    Reboot the computer.

  • App works on XP, but not Win 7

    I'm trying thinapp some application we use. Here are a few details... If I have this package on a Windows XP computer, I can deploy virtual machines Windows XP but not the 64-bit Windows 7 machines.

    As I'm going down to XP, I then created a computer package 64-bit Windows 7, SP1... I used this machine to install the application, the application works fine, so I know that the application can operate perfectly well on Windows 7 x 64... I go ahead and wrap it up. I then went back to my own os snapshot and try to run the application packaged on the same machine that I packed on and no luck. The Windows Setup program starts to run for some reason any and then I get "cannot find the specified file" I tried setting the WOW64 and tried a certain isolation modes: fusion and WriteCopy.

    Any ideas? I wasn't looking to pack on Windows 7 32-bit because I is not currently using it in my environment

    Mike

    Mike,

    I ThinApp had Wavereader 4.2 successfully after a lot of troubleshooting, tested on XP and Win 7 (32/64).

    Can you IM your personal email so I can send you the ThinApp project folder integer (except the bin folder) via dropbox?

    All you need is just run the file build.bat which includes your ThinApp license and creates the bin for you.

  • my site works in IE but not firefox

    This is my web page:
    http://www.Andrew-Leonard.co.UK/Mallorca/Mallorca%20ferns.htm

    It usess css to define the layers and javascript to show and hide layers. It uses a system of dhtml menu by Milonic to run javascript code

    This is part of the code for layers:

    <style type="text/css">
    #Layer01 {position: absolute; left: 300px; top: 50px; z-index:1;}
    ...........
    #Layer33 {position: absolute; left: 300px; top: 50px; z-index:33;}
    </style>

    This is part of the javascript to show/hide layers:

    <script>
    function showlayer(layer){
    var myLayer = document.getElementById(layer).style.display;
    if(myLayer=="none"){
    document.getElementById(layer).style.display="block";
    } else {
    document.getElementById(layer).style.display="none";
    }
    }
    </script>

    It works OK in IE but not firefox

    If you select Web Console of Firefox (Ctrl + Shift + K), it will tell you errors is to find and the line of code that is found on.
    The problem, it seems to have at the front is that IDS are case-sensitive: 'layer02' is not the same thing as "Layer02", for example.

    There may be errors once again it happened, but all current browsers come with tools that needed to rule out any other problem.
