HomeScreen.setName error "Module has no application entry point.

Hi people. I'm trying to change my name to the application and get an IllegalArgumentException: Module with handle [1619] and [0] index has no application entry points. The line of code is:

HomeScreen.setName ("$" + Math.floor (allowanceRemaining) (int) + ":" + daysRemainingInCycle + "days");

My application starts automatically at startup. I'd appreciate any help!

See you soon,.

An entry point is similar to a project.  Each application has at least one.  You can have multiple entry points.  One could be the passage of auto-start for the application and another might be an icon on the user can click.  You can read about it here:

How to - set up another entry point for my application
Article number: DB-00008

http://www.BlackBerry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800901/How_To_-_setup...

To return to your mistake... Note that the process that triggers the PhoneListener methods is different from that of the process that your application runs in (when the autostart or handled by the user).  This means that you are trying to call setName to another application (not your own).  In order to change the name of your application, you will need to use the setName (String name, ApplicationDescriptor descriptor) method, where you pass the descriptor for your application.

  • Application Plugin error - could not find the entry Point (48::72)

    Hi all

    Anyone who bought my plugin has reported these errors when applying:

    invalid filter (25::3)

    could not find the main entry point for myplugin.plugin (48::72)

    They use CS6 on Snow Leopard on a Mac Pro 3.1 10.6.8 so this should work very well (the effect was compiled as a 64-bit using the latest XCode plugin, the Mountain Lion 10.8.5).

    I was wondering if anyone here has had this problem, and how they have solved.

    Thank you!

    Christian

    We managed to repro this on a machine running OS x 10.7.

    It turns out that it was probably due to one of the two parameters of generation in XCode:

    Basis of SDK, that I put OS X 10.9, and (most likely) OS X deployment target, which is the default value for the compiler. By reducing the Base SDKS to 10.8 and setting the target of 10.5 deployment. This fixed the problem on the machine 10.7.

    Waiting for the user who reported the problem to confirm the re-compiled version works on his workstation. However, I thought that I would put the solution here, just in case someone else has this problem in the future.

    I tried Googling, but I have not found any solution, so I thought I would ask for help here.

    OK, one of our guys just tried this on a machine Vista and we get the same error as you. This must be due to a recent change, as we did in the desktop application or in one of the libraries that we use to build. Either way, it seems that he no longer works on Vista.

    Thanks for reporting this. I'll go ahead and update the FAQ with this information and will push for a change in the Setup program so that it will install is no longer under Vista. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Q followed by "app has no entry point.

    Hello. I got the alternative entry point as you said Mark, but the setName (string, applicationdescriptor) doesn't yet because I'm not sure what to set the descriptor. I tried this:

    In Main(), I took the new ApplicationDescriptor (ApplicationDescriptor.currentApplicationDescriptor (), null) and used to set a variable in the PhoneListener class. When I want to change the icon for the process that manages the PhoneListener, I use this variable (let's call it ad) type ApplicationDescriptor to say:

    HomeScreen.setName (newname, ad);

    I always get the error: module has no app entry point.

    How to use the ApplicationDescriptor correctly please? Oh BTW, because I had to use JDE 4.7 to use setName (name, descriptor) - since 4.6 doesn't support - does this mean that my application does not work on BlackBerry "BOLD", or there is a work around to setName from another process?

    Thank you

    Justin.

    Just an idea, not sure you should be. Why do you need to leave your application? Let it run all the time. You can simply hide application

    using Application.requestBackground.

    Another idea: you can try to run your application with specific parameters as in this link http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800332/800620/How_To _... In this case, I think you're going to somehow find out if your application is already running and do something else, for example global event message

  • (Updated) Maybe Mr. Sohm can help-Module has no entry point app error

    Hi gentlemen. I tried twice to this announcement, but no one could help me - Mark Sohm reads maybe this?

    I'm trying to change my name to the application and get an IllegalArgumentException: Module with handle [1619] and [0] index has no application entry points. The line of code is:

    HomeScreen.setName ("$" + Math.floor (allowanceRemaining) (int) + ":" + daysRemainingInCycle + "days left", 0);

    My application starts automatically at startup (but is not a module of the system). There three classes. When it runs on startup and when I click on the application icon, the addalistener class is running. AddListener situations instantiates the class MonthlySpendConfig to add parameters, and a third class, StoreInfo, is used to store persistent data. It's a CLDC application, with homescreen number 0 and start level 7. My JDE version is 4.6.0.12 and my simulated phone is the 9000 "BOLD".

    I'd appreciate any help! I Googled it and read the docs again and again...

    See you soon,.

    When I reboot, or start my system I get an error - smaxpnp.exe - not found entry point

    Hello

    Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    Smax4pnp.exe is a system process that belongs to the software SoundMAX. It is not necessary for sound to work on your computer, but is mainly used to run or adding components to the software SoundMAX program.

    I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

    Start safe mode and check if the problem persists there.

    A description of the start in Windows XP Mode options:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    Step 2:

    Put the computer in a clean boot state, then start in normal mode and check if it helps.

    How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

    Note: once you have completed troubleshooting try the steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state.

    Method 2:

    Try to remove the smax4pnp.exe of your computer and check if it helps.

    Follow the steps to remove smax4pnp.exe:

    a. Press 'Ctrl', 'Alt' and 'Delete' on your computer to open the Windows Task Manager. "Click on the"Processes"tab on top.

    b. scroll down and click on "Smax4pnp.exe." Click 'End process' to stop the currently running process

    c. click on the Windows "Start" button, then click 'Search'. Click on "Search all files and folders" on the left panel to open the search box.

    d find and delete this file: Smax4pnp.exe.

    e. empty the trash to complete uninstallation.

  • 32-bit installation issues - Vista Entry Point not found error

    I'm doing a clean install of Windows Vista 32 Bit in Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4). When the installation asks you which drive I would install windows for, as I have Sata drives running of a Sata/RAID controller card he asked pilots. Any version of this driver, I offer for this installation fails with the following error "Windows Installer: setup.exe - Entry Point not found - the procedure entry point LZClose could not be found in KERNEL32.dll dynamic link library ' I have a Silicon Image Sil 3513 SATALink PCI controller that manages my hard drives. The same drivers worked well to install Windows 2000. As I upgrade to Vista version I can only run through the windows so I could not try and see if it will install directly from DOS.

    Thank you

    Found a solution. I use the Windows Vista upgrade version & thus tried to install through Windows 2000. However Win 2 k interfaces drives in a different mode of Vista, while he was in conflict. I solved the problem by installing Vista via the bootable disc.

    Now just to find the compatible drivers for my asus motherboard and aircraft... Grrrr I'm sure I got this Vista computer previously without all these headaches...
