    Hello

IE was running is very important to the solution to the issue - check below.

    -----------------------------------

BEX errors often are caused by toolbars such as Google, TrendMicro and others. You use one
3rd toolbars in IE? Cause and solution is the same for Vista and Windows 7.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER
on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave remnants behind which emits causes).

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore advanced settings, and then click RESET - APPLY / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on Reset all areas - APPLY / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if she's here, it is no longer necessary but Java still
installs and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again). Look for other
    possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right.
Allowed are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program, ask
    topic here.

Could be that a BHO - SpyBHOremover - free - program of autonomous, needs no installation, download, unzip
and run. Also not all the BHO is bad, that some managed bars of tools and features that you added.
    http://securityxploded.com/bhoremover.php

    Startup programs
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/79612-startup-programs-enable-disable.html

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you never think malware updated, then
    run as a scanner.

    I hope this helps.

Hello. I recently had to reinstall windows vista on my computer. Everything works well except that I continue to have problems with the audio. When I play youtube videos or to make Skype calls, that the sound disappears and I get the message "Windows Audio has stopped working" immediately followed by the message "host process for windows services stopped working." I remember having this problem in the past, every time that I had to restore the operating system, but I don't remember what I did to remedy. I went to the history of my problem and it's certainly a problem with Windows Audio. What can I do?

my computer keeps stopping and restarting itself. I get the same messages of 2 error: host process for Windows Services stopped working and was closed and; Windows must now restart because the DCOM Server process Launcher service terminated unexpectely. None of the above works though... I didn't know by another forum to download Hitman 3.5 http://www.surfright.nl/en/downloads/home that he got rid of a virus that norton, Norton 360 and Malwarebytes antivirus support could not. I had no problem since :)

    Hello KenricLow,

Try this to see if you can connect.
    Boot to safe mode.

    To access Safe Mode:
    (a) restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
    (b) select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and press ENTER.
    (c) when the boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.

Of in safe mode, type msconfig in the start in the start menu search box and press return. Then on the Startup tab, uncheck the box any reference to the verisign/authentec software. Then, go to the services tab, sort the columns by manufacturer, then uncheck all references to Verisign. Then click ok and restart in normal mode.

If please reply back and let us know if that helped to turn out to get rid of your error message.

  • Someone at - it smart enough to: «host process for Windows Services has stopped working...» » ?

I have spent a week on this problem, looking all over the internet and doubt that someone knows enough to solve this problem. I've been a software engineer for 30 years and never worked on an operating system such as buggy windows Vista (or windows)

I got TWO errors. They may be related.

= The first is with Windows Update

    -If you know, I tried:

    At ran windows BITS difficulty
ran sfc/scannow (it found and fixed some iexplorer 8 _)
    has ran defrag and
    has ran chkdsk
drivers replaced with the latest news from Toshiba
has run hardware diagnostics - no problem

I tried with and without firewalls and AV running.
I don't run AVG control and malware - no problem

    Windows Update always fails.

Machine: Vista 32 Home Premium SP2 on a Toshiba Qosmio computer laptop X 305-Q705 4 Gig Duo P7350 Intel with nvidia

Otherwise, Windows works fine. Net access is fine using Mozilla. Even correctly downloaded files. BUT

I get this error: windows update does NOT. It gives an error "failed", whose code is:

    0X80072EFE-2147012866 ERROR_INTERNET_CONNECTION_ABORTED

Also, sometimes strange, windows displays an error dialog box:

    Hey Joe,

I see that you have updated your drivers.

Have you updated your chipset for this PC drivers?

Are you overclocking PC or running a RAID configuration?

I suggest to remove all external devices during the diagnostic process, except the keyboard, mouse and monitor.

If you think this error is with IE, you can try running it without Add - ons.

Alternatively, you can try to reset the Internet Explorer settings.

Here is some information on this process:

You can also check your profile for corruption:

I found this in my "library", and I wonder if it applies to you.
It is clear that I don't know if the method actually works. Just send you if you are interested.

HOST PROCESS FOR WINDOWS SERVICES STOPPED WORKING AND WAS CLOSED

I had this problem, as well as the browser Chome Goggle does not and one Windows Update error 80072EFE code.  After months of research, I found that mosty likely, the computer has been infected by ROOTKITS. Try TDSSKILLER to find rootkits. Download and run from here
