  I have a LC process where I want to assemble a dynamic number of PDF documents into a single PDF file. I use the following DDX to do this:

  As I insert a list I guess the order of the subdocuments in the result is determined by the order of the source list. Unfortunately, this is not the case, the Assembly has a random order. When I inspect the right of the list before the invocation of the DDX, the order is fine.

  Any ideas why the order has disappeared?

  I still don't know why the order is lost if I put a process variable, then it must be treated as a bug.

  If there is text to be copied (in other words, if the pdf file is not a scanned image of the text), by default, you should see a pointer that will change when you hover over the text to an ibeam.

  my penny on this issue. I'm starting to a point that the file is easily traceable. Like a sketch of a logo or something.

  The pdf file arrives on an ipad, right? So, open the PDF and take a screenshot of the file if it is open (which is done by clicking at the same time the sleep button on the top and the button on the screen of your ipad at home). Then you will have your PDF saved in your camera as an image.

  Once on film, then open adobe sketch and use use the icon to import an image second icon to the left, in the sketch menu, it looks like a picture with two mountains and the Sun). Resize the screen and work top of tracing.

  Now I could give you a very naïve solution, but the only way I could find to solve your problem if you really work on iPad only

  I will suggest 2 things. First, go to hp.com site and select your device from the five listed here (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html).

  Second suggestion is that you use the HP software to scan your document, where the native format is PDF.

  You will need to uncheck 'Open documents as tabs... new' under ' Edit > Preferences > general "so that the two PDF files open in separate windows.

  Then, you can drag the second file to the second monitor.

  If you have placed the SWF files using the Annotations of Rich Media (content - multimedia - etc.) then you can ignore my notes on the portfolios and maps - refers to the system navigator in a Portfolio PDF. In your case, you will need to use one of the tools I've mentioned, or try to hand.

  I don't know of a Mac equivalent to surgeon or Can Opener. With effort, you can do the same thing manually:

  • Create a blank PDF and copy - paste into your SWF file using the select an object in Acrobat, if you do nothing else in the file to worry.
  • Use the preflight in Acrobat Pro to remove the compression of document structure and register again.
  • Open the PDF file in a text editor such as Notepad ++ that can manipulate binary data and extract the flow of the object relative to the SWF file (look for the binary data segment starting with "SCF" and ending before the word 'endstream' - delete all the rest above and below these lines. Makes no changes to the binary data and do not leave blank lines above the "CFS" or below the last binary character.
  • Save the data to a new file, give it a. SWF extension and you're done.

The text was provided in PDF format when I copy and paste this in Indesign, it happens like question marks, boxes and other characters having nothing to do with the text I'm trying to layout.  I put the cast on the Arabic Myriad and Arabic dictionary still nothing that resembles Arabic or any other language.   Thus, KK: you're in for a world of pain. The intials "WP" at the beginning of these policies means that the text is out of WordPerfect. Make presentations multilingual in WP, it was annoying, but possible. It was developed in the pre-Unicode world where every single method of complex script layout was a dirty hack. If you like dirty nerdy details, I can tell you how it worked, but that it is sufficient to say that attempt to harvest the non-latine-script text of: WP and it reuse for use in InDesign is just pure pain. WordPerfect-specific code pages were never really supported anywhere outside WP.

  That being said, I have a script around laying somewhere for the conversion of the WP-Cyrillic in Unicode. (In fact, I think it does Windows CP 1251, but that works as well.) But this is only one of the forty-five languages? And the Chinese has been pixelated? And PDF files were originally generated by Distiller 3? If you have no choice, it is time to leave. If you do not have the choice, I really hope that you charge hourly. My experience in this area (very large) is that it will cost three to five times more to extract the text as it would for a professional translation generate a new key of the text, and and then to have a second professional translation review text rekeyed looking for typos.

  Russian OCR is darn good these days, but Chinese OCR is random. I've never seen good Arabic OCR - doesn't mean it's not out there, but I couldn't help you find it.  But the chances that all 45 languages available reliable OCR, and the result of said OCRing will not have to be reviewed by someone who knows the language, are virtually nil.

  I created a pdf file, it adds form data. Recorded data of the form as a file fdf - all good.

  I've updated the document saved as a new pdf and want to load the fdf inside data.

  So I select Tools - forms - more brush options and press the "import" function - it goes gray and nothing happens.

  If I re - open the document, import remains greyed out feature.

  I can't find any way to import these data... ideas?

  I tried to go in form editing mode - add a new field.  The import option is is more greyed out so I click on it and select the open hit fdf file... the dialog disappears and nothing happens.

  Is my Acrobat XI improperly installed 11.0.07 - or what?

  Actually - I think I sort of solved the problem.  I issued the pdf as a standard "PDF:X 4/2010" (instead of none)-compatibility as 'Acrobat 7 (PDF 1.6)' and even if the button import didn't always nothing except gray is present, I found that if I went to the old document, put highlight all fields, I managed to copy and paste into the new document.

  I did try copy and paste before, but probably the pdf must be created in one of the standards for import to work... sort of.
