Without .htaccess how can I block sites unwanted reference?
I've seen a few posts on .htaccess not working not not on BusinessCatalyst because it only works on Apache servers and BC is on .NET apparently (?). My client needs to block a dozen of bots (semalt, buttons for Web sites, best SEO, etc.) and while I can find a way to block the IPs reports of the site through BC, I don't think I can isolate IPs for each of these sites of delinquency. Then what should I do? I saw something maybe, it can be done in Google Analytics... but it actually block the visit or simply remove from being counted by the traffic report? I want to keep my protected site but I want British Colombia has my hands tied to this.
Any advice would be appreciated!
1. robots.txt for bots who read and follow
2. you are protected, things just to read your site can and will happen, even with htaccess on a website - can easily ignore it.
3. the filter is what you need and to better to spend his stats by google analytic as BC isn't as good at filtering.

Pop-up window automatically downloaded a file to my laptop. I deleted the file in my downloads, but how can I be sure I have removed completely?
If you know what has been downloaded, I would use EasyFind:

In addition, I would like to launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac:

These steps will not guarantee that all items have been reomoved. This is possible only by backing up your data, erase the HARD drive and then reinstalling the OSX and your data.

How can I block junk e-mail?
Im getting bombarded by spam from a single source. Mail offers an unscubscibe button (although I have never subscribed in the first place). However, if I click on unsubscribe I tells me I need to sign up first (Im not going to do that).
Question - how can I block this sender so that don't get no emails more of them?
Gordon
You cannot block it unless your email provider has a tool to do this on their Web site. You create a rule in Mail/preferences/rules to delete the email, so it arrives in your Inbox. Example below.

How can I block the users access to microsoft office?
How can I block the users access to microsoft office?
You must set "" permission to run on each of the Microsoft Office programs (word.exe, excel.exe, powerpnt.exe, etc.) such that the group 'Administrators' and the SYSTEM is allowed to run. To do this, you do a right click on the .exe file, select 'Properties', then click on the 'Security' tab and change security as you wish.
If you do not have a 'Security' tab, then it is because you have XP Home Edition, or if you have XP Pro with active Simple file sharing. For XP Home, you must boot mode safe (repeatedly tap F8 at startup key) and login as an administrator to access this tab. For XP Pro, follow the instructions in the following article:
"How to disable the file sharing simple and how to set permissions on a shared folder in Windows XP"

How can I determine if I have firefox 64?
How can I determine if I have firefox 64-bit?
Hello
I had a look on the details of the user agent for your version of Firefox, and it indicates that you are using a 64-bit version of Windows, but Firefox makes use of a subsystem called WoW64, which allows him to run a 32-bit version of the software as Firefox.
There are currently no 64 bit version of Firefox, but there is a version that is in beta version (you can download it here) and the developer edition of Firefox (which you can download here). Please note that these are not fully completed versions of Firefox you may encounter a couple of issues that would be otherwise corrected before the code skips to the release.
I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look at another solution for you.
