How can I change the default search engine in the address bar?

Beta toolbar AVG changed the search engine used when I type in the address bar of Yahoo search. I uninstalled AVG completely toolbar beta, but I can't seem to find out how to change the search back to Google search engine.

Skip this step if you also have a Yahoo toolbar
Remove the Yahoo toolbar

  1. 'Ctrl + Shift + A' (add-on Manager)
  2. Select the piece of the Puzzle on the left side for list Extensions
  3. Find "Yahoo Toolbar" and click the "Uninstall" button and restart Firefox. (if you really need to keep the Yahoo toolbar, you can hide the toolbar instead with personal and always not to change all default search settings below)

Then to set the default search engine used in the address bar, change the value of the keyword. URL in Subject: config to one of the values in the search of the address bar with MozillaZine.

  1. type about: config in the location (in a new tab) toolbar
  2. If the nonsense of warning message appears uncheck the box before dismiss the dialog box message
  3. filter by keyword
  4. Right click on the key word . URL and choose 'Edit' then paste in the string of search engine Google of your choice.
  5. filter on defaulturl
  6. Right-click on browser.search.defaulturl (if it exists)and again choose "Edit" and then paste in the string of search engine Google of your choice.
  7. filter on ytff
  8. Right-click on yahoo.ytff.search.popup_src (if it exists) and again once choose 'Edit' then paste in the string of search engine Google of your choice, so adventurous maybe see if 'reset' would delete and see if went into the session next (at least not for those keeping the extension).

Avoid problems: Several software installations contain additional baggage called crapware. The Yahoo toolbar is packed with Java photo

  • How can I get the address bar does not redirect me?

Since the recent update for Firefox 36.0.1, a URL typed on the address bar is now taking me to a website where I can buy this unused domain name (buydomains.com). This is not where I want to go. I have no intention to buy a domain name; I don't particularly appreciate receive advertising in response to my fault for typing. What I would like is a good, not old Error 404 to tell me that I looked for something that didn't exist. How can I prevent the address bar to send me off, in the arms of the advertiser, but get just a 404 instead of this message?

    Hello

I have to fully understand and appreciate the magnificence of a 404 error. He immediately told you what you wanted to know - that the site is not found!

What you see is where the registration and ownership of the site was passed to the registry which is owner of the domain. The site is located, it is just acting as an announcement of the person who is the owner of the URL so that they can sell or resell.

The address bar works as it should - it displays the URL as requested - it's just not the preferred outcome. One way you can get around this is use a parental control addon and include the name of the registry in the watchlist (or edit list so that it is the only entrance). She stops at the page to display. (Link) is an example of the kind of addon, that you could use.

  • How can I change the address to google bar search engine?

Basically, I want to make google the search engine by default, I tried to change the thing: the url of the keyword in the config that is not working, the search engine bar is set to google, but the address bar back to Yahoo which I don't want.

The key word. Pref URL is no longer used in current versions of Firefox.
Firefox uses the same search engine (by default) for the address bar and the subject: such home page as defined for the search bar.

It is more likely a problem caused by an extension.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

A few days ago, I was not careful enough by downloading an application from the internet. My landing page and my search engines have been change to webssearches.com. In addition, a toolbar has been installed. To remove the toolbar and clean the addon was not so difficult. To change the landing page was pretty easy too, but I'm not able to upgrade my default address bar search engine DuckDuckGo.com. Even if I changed it in the topic: config. After each restart of Firefox, the search engine goes back to webssearches.com. How can I fix? Still a complete new Firefox has not solved the problem.

    Brombeersalat,

I suspect that you didn't completely rid your PC of all this webssearches.com Malware / PUPS. The question of setting in Firefox is not enough, and now that the shit is re - install itself again in Firefox on a cold start Windows or when you launch Firefox.

How can I do in firefox address bar being the same as Chrome - it acts as the area of research as well as the address box

I hate having to hit tab or use my mouse to move to the search bar

Chrome: I love how just type anything and just hit return - it will do a search using your search engine

YES: I know that if you add ' google: "all that you want to search, then the same behavior is created

But having to type 7 characters is a little too much for me!

Y at - it a software plugin that modifies the behavior?

I'll be honest, because of this unique feature, I use Chrome instead of Firefox - I always use Firefox, 10% of the time - but it's because of other reasons

  • How can I change the address Modbus to Modbus IO server programmatically?

    Hi experts,

I use a cRIO 9076 that is configured as a server IO slave Modbus to Modbus TCP communication. I have always used the same Modbus address to configure the server of e/s and it has never been necessary to change so far. So I was wondering if there is a way to change address Modbus IO server programmatically, after it has been initially configured?

    Thank you

    Volker

    Hi Volker,

There is an Express VI, that lets you create or change existing servers of e/s Modbus programmatically createand configure the Server IO. Once you set up like Modbus, you will be able to provide the address programmatically.

In regards to the address - you are right in that the Modbus address configured in the configuration of the server is not really used with Modbus Ethernet. According to Modbus specifications, the address is used when a network connecting Modbus Ethernet to a secondary network series Modbus via a bridge or a bridge. The specs say that the address 0xFF should be used on an Ethernet network. For more information on this topic, Please see page 23.

    Hope that helps!

    Best regards
