  • How can I change the network to a WiFi connection profile in Windows 8?

When I connect to a wireless connection, it automatically assigns me for the Public Profile. But, I know to trust the network and want to select it as private, so that I can use the share.

In previous versions of Windows, it was easy to change the WiFi profile. For example, in Windows 7, I would go to the network share and click on the name of the profile, and it would allow me to change it. Now, in Windows 8, the profile name is static text and is no longer provides a link that allows me to edit the profile.

I tried to remove the profile and add it back, using the context menu on the WiFi network and "forget this network". But he never asks on the profile or sharing when I add the network.

    Try this:

    -Show the charms

    -Select settings

    -Select the network icon

-Right click (using a mouse), or press and hold (with your finger) on the name of the network connection, that you care

-A menu will appear to allow you to control the sharing, so to go from a private and public profile.

  • How can I change the network address of my Time Machine drive?

    Hi people,

This is my second question in 12 hours. Thanks to help I received here, I abandoned my doomed attempt to use my old AirPort Extreme and a USB key for Time Machine backups.

I've used my ReadyNAS for Time Machine backups, but it has never been reliable. I think I have tracked the question and I would like to try again. However, Time Machine remembers the old network address for the ReadyNAS unit (smb://NAS_TimeMachine.local/ReadyNAS) and does not 'see' the same unit at current address (afp://[email protected]/NASTimeMachine). You could collect that networking is not something I understand.

I think that this can be also responsible for the boring 'There was a problem... "messages that I receive at startup telling me the drive could not be mounted.

Is there a way to force the time Machine to forget the old address and 'see' a new?

    See you soon,.

(PS I have also posted this question on the legacy of networking community, but I think it's a better place for this)

Do the same for all the other disks that may appear under the heading of backup discs

Turn off and restart the AirPort Extreme

    Restart the Mac.

Click the 'clock' Time machine at the top of the screen

    Click Open Time Machine Preferences

    Click select drives

Under the heading of available records , click a disk that you want to use to highlight the disk

    Click use the disk

    Close the windows

Wait a few minutes to see if a backup will start. Otherwise, click the "clock" Time machine at the top of the screen, then click on NTI Backup Now

  • How can I change the network settings and air play setting up the itunes which is running on my laptop (windows 10)

A few weeks ago, I was streaming of photos to my TV using my apple TV. Now, whenever I try to play music in my laptop itunes I get the error message "the airplay APPLETV device is not available," he goes on to say "Please check your airtime... configuration and network settings. "I searched for days for these parameters.

Now the itunes on my laptop has no audio data.

The only way I can hear the track I'm playing, is to select the option at the foot of the error message that says "use this computer for now" - this gets quite annoying after awhile!

    any suggestions?

    Thank you.

    Hello [email protected],

I understand that you encounter some problems with the sound settings on your PC after using a home since iTunes for Windows sharing.   The resources below has some basic for home sharing troubleshooting. Specifically, I would say the software updates, cycling the power to the modem/router and check the sound settings in Control Panel to do the internal speakers are of course selected.

    Where is the control panel?

    Take care.

I want to change the button to 'cut the computer', in 'turn led light on or off.
Toshiba Button support shows only two possibilities: CD/DVD and in German "Your aus" what means "mute".

In Vista was the button with the right option, now I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate x 86. Since then the mute only it.

I hope you understand my question.

This two threads did not help me, because I find no "utility control" in the list of the drivers for my computer.

    Hello

    Win 7 is different!
The configuration of keys on Toshiba utility is not available for Win 7!
After the installation of the VAP (value added package) for Win 7, you can configure the keys by pressing the button for the first time.

I did it on my laptop after changing from Vista to Windows 7.
I pressed a button and the window a pop-up asking me which application should be attributed to this button.

As far as I know after the configuration it of not possible to change this once again

Maybe after the new TPC facility you could configure the new buttons

    Hello Cosmicbbb,

Thank you for your message.  If you want to withdraw your option set to the option "Turn off computer", you can make the following registry edit.
Click Start > click Run > type regedit and press "Enter."
    Navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ACPI\Parameters.
Right-click in the empty space in the right pane and select new | DWORD value.
    Attribute value name
    Then, double-click attributes
Make sure hexadecimal is selected by breaking 70
Click OK, close the registry editor and restart.
Now when you choose to stop the computer in the start menu in XP, you will not be able to choose the day before by accident.
